Keep hitting the boss maybe you slow down trying to be cautious

There is definitely always skill improvements that can happen but the truth is at the current point in the game the classes that the devs are focusing on will do more dmg even with lower overall power because their ceiling is higher. I am a slayer man and its sad to say its no longer meta after akkan.

I think it's just learning when to save your identity and when to use it, like don't pop it then realize there's a mech/cutscene coming up. There are things you can just immune with your skills and not have to dodge Specifically for Thaemine the orianna mech in G4 you should time and spacebar inwards to the boss to dps instead of trying to get out And obviously in G4 learning his normal sword/axe patterns and getting comfortable with them is like 90% of the fight Just tiny things like that will help, good luck man

Spec/crit with Nightmare From what I know, Nightmare still has higher ceiling, kbw+hallu is more consistent If you have 1 or more crit syn in your party it's probably better to go nightmare (or you say fuck it and gamble the crit rng game with 0 crit syn) If no crit syn then hallu for more consistent crit

I also got insanely lucky with my crits, probably like 5-6% more than usual. So this is a just a glimpse of having 1 or more crit syn in a party scenerio

In terms of surge vs shock in raids, yes I can confidently say in my experiences surge out dmgs shock even if both are used as filler. With all the synergies in raid, surge just pumps. It's usually around 3rd in damage (behind gbolt and leap) in raid.

It interrupts dps as much as boss mechs or anything else during a fight

Its best as a 7th DPS skill if you dont have high CD runes If you're full 7/8+ tho Shield Shock is better because then you can fit everything in a constant rotation If you dont need both Naesala and Dash Upper Fire, you typically sub one for either Surge or Shield Shock for extra damage

@@Jugement with high spec shield shock is better than surge canon anyway.

@@valraukardso7117 Nah, does less DPS still, at least in my parses (1650 Spec) Shield shock only becomes better with high CD gems since surge cannon would end up delaying other skills

@@Jugement idk just heared an 1600ilvl gunlancer from korea saying that once I didnt test it but in my opinion surge canon is only an option if you dont need a counter.

Nah nella doesn't matter to me, I get MVP on all content/gates our group does without it And I usually run with my static only so nella is useless to me when my supports got me, my supports/static aren't braindead so Unless my supports starts telling me people are taking way too much dmg and need my shields, I'm not touching nella, and only time I can see that happening is MAYBE abrel

I don't use nella either on my static, why somebody should take nella when the group has enough skills to not get hit in first place? also the bard on my group is always spamming dmg buff not heals, if you want a Gunlancer to shield you, then you're assuming you will get hit a lot, which means you're the problem, not his build.

@@CrisHermetica i mean you are dismissing a cleanse and a shield for what exactly? 2 points of destruction and 1-2% higher dps on the mvp screen? what is that on 2 billion health target you'd do 50-100m damage extra in the top 12 pure blue lancers in kr there is only 1 guy not using Nelassia just don't get hit and your god static groups is all fine and dandy but you will be griefing eventually by not using it i can't even find a video of blue lancers not using nelassia you are trying to reinvent the meta but you will eventually come to a realization that that ability is giga broken and you are just griefing your role hell even if you don't want to use the shield or cleanse it has a tripod that can give up to 40% more damage to your group 25% atk speed 25% move speed on top of the 25% damage it gives on its own even red lancers use that shit because it's one of the most stacked abilities in the entire game

@@MostWantedWannaBE I'm not trying to reinvent anything it's my Gunlancer, and it's how i play it, i know about the utility of Nella and i use it when is needed like in Valtan gate 1 for the cleanse or even Argos gate 1 for the pizza. I don't give a fuck your meta build people that just run meta builds are just being stuck at the bottom because you don't even understand what your skills do, you're claiming that Nella has a 40% more dps to the entire group when it's not correct the only thing that it can give is a 20% attack speed, that is not a 40% increase in dmg, don't be stupid. Also if you use that you're replacing the shield that you claim to be needed 100% of the times, so is it because of the shield or is it because you can give "40% more dmg" to the party? or maybe is it because you just watch guides and never learned how to play the class? Pls give me a break and go crying to somebody else because people don't follow "meta builds" that you can find in maxroll or from people that DON'T main the stupid class...

Yes weapon level/tripods/gems will play the biggest part, tripods and gems more than weapon level. The dom fang set is good for fights that are less than 2 minutes... but because we don't run awakening we have 2 minute uptime, and 2 minute down time, so that set was really good for 1-2 minute tests in trixion haha. I have considered running quick prep, but I have a habit of using Shield Charge into Leap. The difference between the 2 CDs is around 2s so usually after the Shield Charge animation ends my Leap will be up

@@LemonyIvan That all makes sense. How are you finding the class now that you're spending more time auto-attacking? I'm a little hesitant to commit to the meta build since I'm worried I'll lose some enjoyment in the class.

@@llF4TEll In all other MMO's i've played, AA to fill between skills is normal so I'm use to it... But #1 priority is play how you enjoy it the most, it's the only thing that matters :)

Have you considered not selecting scarecrow in trixion so you can summon a real boss that attacks to get your combat readiness stacks? Missing alot of dps without those.

@@RoyalNZPoE That is true but I try to mimic the parameters of other DPS tests as close as possible to have the most even/fair tests. Prestacking Adrenaline, using foods etc would yield higher dps and actually be more accurate but the "unspoken" rule of trixion dps test is just to do it raw I guess haha

Yes, I have been testing back and forth for the past few months. I still continue to do so, I have tripods and gems for both. Shield shock allows for a smoother rotation and easier uptime for adrenaline, but other than that it hits like a wet noodle. Dmg wise it will never win against the 4 main skills (gbolt, leap, charge, shield bash) and will at most even out in dmg with Surge, non crits. If surge crits it's soaring past shield shock (which it does in most cases with party synergy). If you want a smoother better playstyle, Shield Shock If you want to do more dmg, Surge This is all from my OWN testing and my own numbers, and based off my own experiences with using both. Not pushing anyone to use one over the other, but I also think gatekeeping surge is wack and isn't as bad as ppl make it out to be.

@@LemonyIvan ​ Shield Shock also contributes quite a bit in CDR with Quick Recharge Rune and make all other spells make up for the damage loss between Surge and SS . Also it's not easy to test as party sínergies can't be applied in Trixion for true testing. For me the damage was quite similar mostly due to this and that i can take Quick Prep for leap and fit in every Bash rotation instead of Surge. Also with full Nightmare we lose 15% crit for Surge.

@@Mumee2008 Yea I use quick recharge on SS when I do testing, I also do test mainly Descaluda. I think on average the damage is very similar, but if you factor in crits, Surge will peak higher vs SS. My priority in a fight is fitting 2-3 dmg skills in my bash window, 3 if no surge, 2 if surge is included and usually I am able to fit all 5 of those skills in a bash window. I currently have 4pc nightmare/2pc poem and my avg crit per fight is around 45%~ with party synergy. But yeah I think both are viable really, it's a playstyle difference imo, both are great :)

@@LemonyIvan I'm quite unsure about which to use. I also think Surge should be a bit higher DPS, but in Trixion it's minimal difference. I'm also 4 nightmare 2 salva and 1500 ilvl. I don't have that many lvl10 Gems but lvl5 tripods. 22 weap with 76 quality.

@@Mumee2008 I think most importantly, whatever you have the most fun/feel the most comfortable doing It works for me and I feel comfortable playing with surge, I guess you go back and forth with testing until you get a definitive answer... But yeah #1 should be whatever you have the most fun using
