On July 15th Matt got the chance to fly a Cessna 172 from Summersville (XSL) to Charleston (CRW) in West Virginia. It was a great time having Matt along. Unfortunately, I left my GoPro audio cable behind and so, there are no recorded comms on this flight.

How to pick up a 1985 GoldWing 1200 Apsencade.
Просмотров 74 тыс.8 лет назад
Here's how to pick up your heavy GoldWing when you drop it. This is my first time trying this out, the grass was a bit wet.
I got to do an o flight before with the cap Ohio wing composite squadron. It was amazing, I am a cadet airman right now
Dobrze ustawiony🎉😂❤
Love the sound of the bike, what mufflers you got.on it?
Nice job my friend! Thank You!
Great video for airmen! I am proud of the CAP. They do important work. The Civil Air Patrol helps keep our country going. God bless all of our volunteer pilots and airmen, and their organization.
Oh that's a 101 how to pick up a bike manoeuvre for countries that don't just let your ride a motorcycle without a motorcycle license.
Is the 182 rental for solo PIC time building wet or dry rate?
I just dropped my bike while riding on pee gravel and it ate me up a litttle didn’t hurt the aspencade to much ez fix buh i got that bike up way easier than him and im 5’6” 130 lbs😂
ill be damned... like 800lbs of motorcycle. sold. subscribe
Thanks. I was wondering how Sporty's handles the whole check in thing for arriving airplanes. And thanks also for the location of that windsock on the right before the threshold of 04. I've been looking all over for the windsock locations at I69. Stop at 5:11 to the right of your compass. I was beginning to think they didn't have one.
You're welcome, I'm glad the video helped you out!
Nice
As a senior by more than 5 years, where I have a problem is picking up the bike on gravel. As soon as my footing slips as you did on the grass, I'm done. Without traction, very easy to hurt something. Advice?
It’s a little harder when it falls on the other side, you don’t have the kick stand to rely on.
! зачем издеваться?
this is why im gonna leave boy scouts and join CAP. im not saying boyscouts is bad or anything, just not alot of aviation/military based stuff

Lo. What about a run-up? Good man. Follow the check-list. Smart.
I am a pilot and interested in joining CAP, but have a full-time job in the afternoons/evenings. Is there a lot of time commitment involved or is there flexibility?
It really depends on the squadron you join, some are more active than others. I would say reach out to your local CAP squadron and ask them. It's volunteer, so, if you have a full time job, there is flexibility.
I have same yr and color bike
Greetings from MIWG!
I want to learn how to fly bad appreciate the sub ✊🏾🔥
Thanks, flying is a blast. I'm going from being a Flight Instructor (CFI), to getting my CDL, not enough flying jobs right now. I'm gonna start out with Knight most likely. I appreciate the videos, trying to get as much information as possible.
@@isaiahsmith4925 knight is the best choice I’m an owner op with them now and I don’t want to leave them they have definitely been good to me and I love how my driver manager gets me where I want to go it’s ups and downs with every company but knight for sure is a good place to come and stay I’ve run into a lot of drivers that left and came back to knight
@@AndreWalsh93 Thanks for that, I'm really glad to hear it. I'm very much longer looking forward to getting started trucking. Shoot me an email if you will, I'd like to stay in touch and hear more of your experiences, if you don't mind. n5673u@gmail.com
A steam Guage 182T? Truly a rare bird.
yes
I'm scared I wont be able to land successfully.
Goldwing parts? 84-87 1200 aspencades 2 motors call timo at 336-860-8710 Im in Mayodan N.C.
My last big bike was a GSX1100G about five years ago. I never dropped that but I suspect it would have been a lot harder than this as the weight was higher up. I've got a 1200 Ltd in the pipeline once lockdown is over but hopefully I won't need to follow your example...well done.
Your a lot stronger than I am, I can't lift mine.
It's all about technique and leverage.
I suffered a heart attack and 2 open heart surgeries this 2020 year and I can't pick up my 1985 Goldwing anymore, I dropped it after 4 months post-surgery and couldn't, so yesterday I got my MotorBike Jack and I'm practicing pick it up with the jack. I was not able to finish as accidentally I got my bike DROPPED on my left leg and almost broke it, so yesterday and today a lot of muscle and skin pain but no breaks, will pick up my bike both sides at least 10 times in a row before I dare go on the streets. That was my first bike drop in 66 years, I started riding in 1972 with a Yamaha Twin 90cc at the university of texas and then Honda CB when they came out, followed by a Yamaha 650, then 30 years of no riding due to bad vertigo, then it went away, a Pacific PC 800 Honda about 8 years ago and finally my Goldwing. The first one was 1992 1500 and I broke both knees same day I bought it falling from the third floor of my house with my dog in hand; sold it without riding it, lost 1,000.00 in the sale. Then I bought this 1985 GW and I love it and the size is better for me, but now can't pick it up. I may have to sell it but I don't want to, I'm 66 years old and now seems heavier to me but we'll see what happens, I'm sure I may drop it again but with the jack at least I know I'll be able to pick it up myself without having to wait for someone to help me. For the young guys thinking about buying a Goldwing, don't hesitate, do it now. It is a bike for your life.
Looking good fellas
I’m a pilot already and was wondering how many hours you fly a month?
Back when I was flying with CAP before I was a CFI, I flew around 10+ hours a month. Most of that time was giving Cadet O-Rides, a little bit of the time was proficiency flights.
Isaiah Smith Gotcha, I just want to get some hours every month while I finish my degree so I was wondering, thanks!
U have to be macke sure the other side is okay because the grass maud shud solid graund
You had a hell of time and out of breath
Yea, but unless you have done it you wouldn't know just how hard it really is. I tried after I dropped mine unloading it from a trailer and had to get help. Youth is a wonderful thing. I'm 61 and I could not for the life of me get it righted again. I did do it a few years before. Father time sneaks up on you when you ain't looking.
cool, but what will you do when the motorcycle falls to the left?
getting a 1200 myself ! :D always wanted a goldwing. 25 years old !
Great video Isaiah! My daughter was in CAP. The best value for any high school student.
Thanks, it's a great program!
Did that in my garage right after washing it. Tires were still wet and slippery and garage floor was slick. Wasn't that easy, and I was 30 years younger! :-)

You certainly will! Keep your head up buddy. 👍🏻🛩️
Proud to have flown with you. 👍✈️🇺🇸
Thanks Buddy! 👍🏻🛩️✌🏻
Hey man good job bc you even did it on wet grass lol :). I’m hoping to buy one soon from a coworker I lift very heavy windows and doors and know my center of gravity so I’m confident now I’ll be able to do it. Also thanks for the kickstand part it’s obvious thing to do but I would’ve forgot 😂
Thanks! You're welcome lol! GoldWings are amazing motorcycles! They are very practical and you can still have a ton of fun on them, don't let the size fool you, they can handle really well.
I had to learn this the hard way the other day. Went into a dirt lot (bad idea) and you can guess what happened.
дивишся на цих баранів
Pretty ballsy putting a side stand down on grass. I'm surprised it didn't sink into ground and cause the bike to fall over the other way.
Whichever way it falls it can still be picked back up with ease.
I am 21 and getting a gold wing, lol glad there are other young guys with one
My husband just turned 19 back in March and just purchased a 1986 Goldwing Aspencade 1200 a couple of days ago
Im currently 21 and also about to buy one, any advice !
What is it like transitioning to a bike heavy bike like that from a smaller one, any idea? How tall are you and how much do you weigh ? I love the look of the goldwing, but Ive never ridden anything near that heavy. Thanks.
shawn .mason They balance themselves and easy to ride. Takes maybe an hour to get comfortable with it
I've ridden lots of bikes, 750 being the biggest, I now have a 1985 Honda goldwing limited edition 1200cc and it weighs 780# and I dropped it on the right side am 60 years old 160# I could not lift it. The drop was at my house so I backed up my car and tied a rope to the rear hand grip for the passenger and to my car and pulled it till the bike was 3/4 of the way up and finished putting it on the side stand my self. Don't know what I would do if in the middle of the street. Lol
Great camera angle and video quality. Amazing video! Would love to see more.
