Poughkeepsie gulch dummy Ouray, Colorado
If you can't dodge it, ram it and if you can't ram it, winch it.
The driver is not from Texas for everyone who keeps saying he is like it's meant to be an insult. He's from Wisconsin.

For starters, if you've never off-roaded you need to shut your noise holes about Mr. Goodman, next, since he didn't take your truck it's not his fault your vaginas hurt. Props to the man for testing the limits of his truck, something Ram owners aren't afraid to do.
Problem was he sat on the edge of the bed & picked his toes
All that big dick energy and all the soccer mom Fiat sheep truck is good for climbing is a speed bump in their HOA me too suburbia.
I did the area there is 2 LOW in my Jeep CJ-5. I used my large pickup to tow my Jeep to Silverton.
I can see it now. Slightly used Dodge truck for sale. $75k
WTF? this was only a Dodge so no loss. why would he think this was doable? he`s an engineer and can`t figure basic angles of approach and departure? I still think he is from Texas!
That Ole boy tore it up. I got high centered before the wall and then the rain started. I'll be back another day to give it a go. Either way he got up it.
"Stupid is as stupid does"
I'm from Wisconsin an we don't claim this dude what the hell was he thinking
Now that's entertainment
a 10?
For sale....elderly man driven...gently used and never off roaded...smh....
Guessing he found out the wife won the truck in the divorce.
Instead Of winching over he could had just gone around 🤦♂️
No bypass f9r that obstacle
Yes there is a bypass. It’s a few hundred feet before it
I asked those people watching and they didn't say there was. It was great fun anyway. And a perfect trail ride.@@blain5827
I guess if you can shell out 60 grand any day, go for it. Personally I think this is stupid.
Needs to replace stock bumper with an aftermarket bumper and increase the approach angle in the front and replace the rear bumper to increase the departure angle in the rear if he plans on taking these trails. Outfit with a 12,000# winch.
You couldn't see the 12000lb winch?
Thanks to Lindsey for posting that👍👍👍
Never stop being you, this is amazing. Wonder what people did before they could finance a Rubicon on 40's...
To all, that was me and my truck. Addressing comments and questions. 2012 Ram 3500 Laramie Longhorn Mega cab built in September 2011, received November. MSRP was $60,000. Bought new for $52,500. Immediately added 2 step bigger tires, winch bumper with 12000# Ramsey winch(truck weighs >9500#), fabricated skid plate made with 2x1/2" bar stock. The truck has no low hanging parts. The bumper does not reduce approach angle but does weigh front down by about 1/4". The only damage was a groove along the exhaust system that was only cosmetic. Still in place today. On a Ram both drive shafts are out of reach of most protrusions. The only vulnerable part is the plastic fuel tank but doesn't protrude below the frame rail. Never been seriously touched. Yes I reduced the resale value. No I don't care. Plan on keeping it till my ticket gets punched. I'm 70 right now. We've run almost every trail in Colorado in the last 15 years through 2017. Can't breath at altitude since my Covid experience(almost died). Obviously the Ram can't run Black Bear due to length. I've only used the winch 4 times in that length of time. I am an engineer, auto and aircraft mechanic, Bass guitar player and singer, off-road enthusiast, welder, hydraulics technician and more. I decided to climb it because I didn't know any way around the wall and we wanted to run the entire trail. I asked the dozen or so people if I should attempt it and most gave me a thumbs up(probably wanted to see if I'd do it). That same front bar several people criticized was what got me up(its a winch mount). Yes you probably wouldn't buy my truck but I would. It's been tested tough and is not any worse for the wear. Besides I wouldn't sell it anyway. The leather heated and cooled seats, rear heated seats, back seat DVR, Uconnect, amazing audio and 600 lbft of torque is awesome. Happy trails.
Made for a delightful read, both the overview of the rig and about yourself. Thank you for the share! P.S. - Glad to hear you winched yourself out of the Covid situation!
happy to hear nothing got damaged
*It's called off roading for a reason and no one ever expects to come back with one less scratch than the came with. You didn't have $2K tow bill and you didn't have a catastrophic failure so I'm calling this a win. $800 mods and you'd make it up that trail but you'd lose 3mpg on the highway.*
Update: the truck was totaled a month ago after hitting something large and heavy on the freeway at 75 mph. 187000 miles. Buy back was $9300. Settlement was $29000. Buy back was too high for me to save any money fixing it. 😮💨
God bless you good man. No judgement here for that attempt. Prayers for health and a long life. America = Freedom
hey this is me and my grandpa...this was a great trip. its funny because my grandpa forgot to take the parking brake off while winching up the hill (thats the creaking noise you hear). BTW we made our own rock sliders to protect the trans and transfer case, so no rams were harmed in the making of this extreme hill climb xD...besides the running boards
also, still own this truck and it runs like a top :)
You guys are AWESOME. I had so many fun adventures with my grandpa hunting and fishing.
An indescribable idiot.
He has way more money than brains... And the people applauding that are worse.
Not an off roader are you? It's a blast and the truck is fine. I didn't buy it for pretty. I bought it for its potential and sweet luxury and don't ever plan on selling it. I'll give you ride though. Probably shit your pants Lilly.
Talk about no brains... Aired down... 45 psi in the back and 60 in the front!!!!!????? Huh
You are on drugs. How would you possibly know what my tires are set to? You have to know the weight of the truck, the tires and balance between grip with ground clearance.
@@thomasgoodman9593 I’m on drugs??? You’re the idiot asking how I know something YOU DESCRIBED….!
He might of missed his exit ?
What part of Texas is he from?
It looked to me that he bent his frame. Look at the gap between the bed and cab and you can see the gap at the top of the bed is several inches wider than at the bottom.
He didn’t bend the frame. Just got a few scratches and dents. Still has the truck to this day.
Like most commenter here, you think you see things that are not there. Most people assumed the truck was stock. No idea what's under it because the video doesn't show it. And there is no way to pick a better line from that video. You have to be there or have climbed it more than once. I was there. I surveyed the whole wall. Video starts well after I started the challenge.
You're blind
Typical RAM owner they lack common sense
If you can't go up can you go down..
You can tell who has the money.... LOL...
What a freak. Takes a new truck and destroys it on one obstacle ?
The truck wasn’t destroyed and he still has it. Also, he didn’t just do that one spot, he did multiple trails that were also difficult. The challenge was the point.
No damage
Thanks for filming this. Just hilarious 🤣
I’m sure the spotter will help.
When we see someone like this out on the trails, with no common sense, it's a good time to make a quick departure. Otherwise, it turns into 2 hours of helping get unstuck or them wanting to borrow tools and equipment to fix their mistakes. I've done it way too many times in the past. Let them learn the hard way.
Maybe someone else, but this guy is prepared and always has all the tools he would need and would never ask for help. He made it and that wasn’t the last time he went off-roading.
I drive the truck everyday pulling my trailer to work, still runs like a ram should!! (This is his wife!!!)
I'm the guy that bails the others out. I made it with no outside help. BTW the wall is not as easy as it looks.
Another boomer and his full size pick up truck off-roading 🤣😆😂
This is so beyond stupid
If I were there I would ask any body bring some popcorn as I am setting up my chair for the show.
Yes true dat
Lmao just because your older does not mean your smarter
I made it, no damage, as designed. You,like most others, assumed the truck is stock and the driver inexperienced. Neither was true.
Thanks, Yank. You just set back evolution 75 years.
I'm a Yank and I agree with u mate ...... hes up there with a long ass vehicle with stock tires , stock suspension and with running boards ( hate those things , all they do is get in the way when your wheeling ) what an idiot. Lol
The guy said give respect to the dodge at the end.... you mean respect the winch... it did all the work
You'd be a fool to drive CO trails without the winch. This video is proof. Off road equipped truck.
That damage multiplier is causing some approach problems. Oh, and long wheelbase issues.
Made it though which, for off readers, is the goal.
I wounder whats up that trail that would make him want to get up there so bad he would risk trashing that truck like that? Or should I leave out risk and just say trash ?
The truck is fine and they had a blast on that trail and several others.
Small calculated risk. I designed the equipment and had more than ten years of Colorado off roading experience. I do have balls.
I could watch this all day.
You're welcome.
Long wheel base will kill ya .
should have bought a toyota....dumbass
Anybody consider telling him don’t do it? Cringe worthy. RUclips gold!
Fourwheeljive we did lol his response? Looks at grandson when it’s over “don’t ever let anyone tell you what you can and can’t do”
He knew what he was getting into and did it on purpose. He made preparations to the truck and did multiple trails. They had a blast and he still has the truck to this day.
I asked. I got thumbs up. None of these standing on top were veteran off roaders. I can tell because REAL off roaders would have asked if I thought it would go. And when I said yes they would have pitched in and said " let's do this!". You have to be an off roader to know what you're seeing and understand the challenge.
@@thomasgoodman9593 I agree and you have to have an experienced spotter who will stop you before you hit your bumper or whatever. I've gone seemingly impossible places in my FJ40 and FJ Cruiser because I had a decent spotter. I like the let's do this attitude, but not above saying Dude! Good chance you'll break something if you try. Just my cents worth.
And here we see a winch fighting a fierce battle with weapons-grade stupid.
It was stupid fun man!
Look at the idiot using a city truck for offroading without a suspension and body lift kit 😆
I think my stock WJ could walk up this
I think my stock 2015 Nissan frontier could walk up it too. I KNOW the 1976 FJ40 Landcruiser I used to own would have no problems. Used to go 4-wheeling in the Sierra Nevadas with it.
Thomas Kent Yeah those original FJ’s are such beasts. Nothing can break on em that you can’t fix
Ah..... NO
@@thomasgoodman9593 You would be surprised what locking diffs and low range can do.
@@off_mah_lawn2074 what do you think my truck has? Do you know anything about 4 wheel pickup trucks?
Grandpa's on the stump whiskey again
My cummins would walk that
cummins Eli 🙄
What a tool. I bet he thinks he’s so fawking cool. Not only that, there is nothing fun about what he is doing. It’s pretty Fawking lame winching a huge stock truck up a trail. I watched a Fat dude jump a rented Tahoe into a mud pit, also thought he was cool. Had to pay out of pocket 12g’s. Honestly, no one has that type of money to just wreck a 70k truck.
