    Great advice and training ideas. I’ve incorporated the chair drill in my hitting station when practicing the full range of clubs. My focus is keep in contact and push the chair back as far as possible. Really like the stomp drill to initiating the weight transfer. This move is one that needs attention in my swing. This podcast is a “goldmine” for those who want to score/perform better on the course. The best analogy I can offer is that it’s like listening to 2 billionaires sharing with each other how they know what enables them to get richer. The topic here, of course, is how to really get better at golf by getting your body to do what new equipment and most swing coaches don’t know how to teach. Bottom line: if you want to play better, P4S Golf is one of the very few places in the country to help you. Check it out!

    • @Par4Success
      @Par4Success 15 дней назад

      I'm sorry to hear that. The most common reason for golfer elbow issues, especially on the trail side, is a lack of shoulder mobility and strength, followed closely by trunk mobility. Something we see all too often, and can certainly help with! If you have time for a brief call with one of our experts, they can answer any questions you have and get you feeling better! Always start with mobility! If you are not mobile enough, your risk for injury is much higher while strength training. Once you are passing all mobility tests, then add in strength (and continue to do mobility work).

    Start with lessons. Fitness optional, but recommend. Skip fitting. Fitting is not even a thought until you can break 75 with stock equipment. Fitting is for elite ball strikers who aren’t going to alter their swing.

    • @Par4Success
      @Par4Success 28 дней назад

      Definitely depends on the golfer. Some golfers bodies keep them from doing what instructors ask of them, so they need mobility exercises to prepare for a lesson and prevent injury (happens more often as we age). Some golfers have adequate rotation where they need it (neck, shoulders, spine, and hips), so they don't need fitness unless they are looking to gain strength to increase speed. Lessons will help optimize your swing (if your body is already optimized) and transfer physical capabilities into your swing! Agreed, fitting should be saved for when you are at your peak, or have an established swing pattern that wont change!

    • @JoshLeyes
      @JoshLeyes 28 дней назад

      If a golfer isn't going to improve their fitness or take lessons (obviously these are the best ways to long term improvement), a proper fitting would still prove beneficial! The "stock" equipment you mention that a golfer buys off-the-rack likely isn't going to be an ideal fit, as golfers come in all shapes, sizes and physical abilities. A highly qualified club fitter can make a huge difference to the "average" golfer. What if the stock" clubs the golfer has are too upright or too flat, with shafts that are too heavy or light, or a driver head that's too low in loft? A proper fitting could help someone gain some yardage (even if they aren't an elite ball striker and shoot in the 90's).

    • @joshuat7171
      @joshuat7171 28 дней назад

      @@JoshLeyes Most amateur golfers chunk at least 1 one out of 4 iron shots. Until you can strike ball, then turf for 20 consecutive shots and have the same swing day in and day out, I just don’t see the value in fitting someone for lie angle or shafts. I’m just saying an amateur will get by far the best bang for their buck by getting lessons and playing cheap equipment than buying new fitted clubs and hoping for the best.

    • @colinboleratz8623
      @colinboleratz8623 26 дней назад

      I’m getting fitted because I’m 6ft 6 and my clubs are so short I bend my knees and hunch my back lol. It causes me to top it when I stand normal but when I get low it’s hard to keep my knees locked at a bent position so I could chunk it or skull it based on my legs moving up or down without balance

    • @joshuat7171
      @joshuat7171 26 дней назад

      @@colinboleratz8623 That’s a good reason! But I wouldn’t skip lessons. They are going to help you immensely. Good lessons from a professional, not RUclips videos. I have had lessons throughout my life every couple years I have 3 lessons to manage my form, my age related changes, and it has kept me a scratch golfer for a very long time. I can play my wife’s left handed clubs or my friends clubs easily because lessons are more important than fittings for me. I am 5’6” and I can just choke down on a really long club if need be and still hit it well.

    I had a full hip replacement in January this year. For the first eight weeks, I just focused on walking & stretching exercises. After that, I started practicing with a wedge at the driving range, gradually building up to a maximum of thirty balls per session. After twelve weeks I started using a seven iron at the range, this coincided with the go ahead to play from the surgeon who carried out the procedure. From then on in, I started to step up my practice, which included playing a gentle nine holes on a very flat course. I can’t remember when, but I gradually lost the fear of playing with a full swing and expecting a pain in the area around my hip. Now, seven months on, I can play and practice without pain. However, I recommend lots of stretching, daily as well as before & after a round of golf. Hope this helps.

      Sorry you missed all the information, here's a recap: Ensure you have enough rotation in your hip, shoulder, and thoracic spine (the assessment will show you how much rotation you should have). If you aren't able to rotate enough, work on mobility in those areas aren't able to rotate in so you aren't compensating and straining your knee (which shouldn't rotate). After you have enough mobility, focusing on driving force through the ground and posting up! Let me know if you have any questions!

He is looking at longest since that represents peak performance (which hasn't improved much over the years). When looking at "average" driving distance, the average has been slowly increasing every year with the release of improved knowledge, equipment, and technology! Do you have links to any of these products, particularly the flywheel, pulley and speed trainer options (or name/spelling so we can search them)? Thank you

      Absolutely! A lacrosse ball and softball can be bought nearly anywhere (we get them off Amazon), for bands, we use Rubber Banditz (any resistance bands would work fine): www.rubberbanditz.com/shop/resistance-bands/ kPulley Flywheel (kBox is on same site): exxentric.com/store/kpulley-category/kpulley-devices/kpulley-go/?_gl=1*emmnlc*_up*MQ..*_ga*ODA2NzI5OTU5LjE3MTg5NzYxNTk.*_ga_XC7YCGSMMJ*MTcxODk3NjE1Ni4xLjAuMTcxODk3NjIxMS4wLjAuMTk2NzAzNzgzMw.. Very thorough, understandable, highly relevant presentation on the key elements of a golf performance training and fitness. A suggestion to better convey to visual learners the elements of successful performance improvement program: a “bullet” list showing each of the key elements. Just saying… 👍

    Im definitely a time bomb . I have been successfully keeping it at bay through exercises and muscle relaxants but im not fooling myself.

      If you're a time bomb, I strongly suggest getting on a call with an expert. Poor mobility alone can lead to injuries, but poor mobility paired with high swing speeds is a recipe for disaster. It's great that you're doing exercises (and not fooling yourself - most people fool themselves then hurt themselves), but if you want to ensure you are doing exercises that will prevent you from injuring yourself, I recommend scheduling a call with one of our experts here: app.acuityscheduling.com/schedule.php?owner=15764528&appointmentType=29332145
