Catching the action on BNSF in Peach Springs, AZ on the evening of June 1st and the morning of June 2nd from my paternal grandparents house. Our family reunion took place and it was a good time to catch several trains before I headed back home to the Hopi Reservation. I hope to be back and catch more of the action here again as soon as I can. It's always fun to railfan here.

A spur of the moment visit to my father in Peach Springs gave me a chance to catch the action at Pica, AZ for a little bit. After catching Amtrak #4 at West Winslow, I headed to Flagstaff for the day to get my truck serviced. Heartbreak on the way west on I-40 as I saw the NS Heritage New York Central SD70ACe working as a rear end DPU on a long stack train. I wasn't able to catch it on video. A late running Amtrak #4 rolls into Winslow, AZ on this June 10th 2023 morning. This longer version left L.A. last night after being cancelled for the past couple of days due to a derailment just east of Williams, AZ that put both main tracks out of service. Trains are once running again and I decided to catch Amtrak before heading on west to Flagstaff for the day.

Caught the Amtrak Heritage unit #160 heading up today's eastbound Amtrak#4 at Holbrook. The paint scheme brings back memories of my time in the Army in the early 1990's . I caught a ride on Amtrak #3 back in May & June 1992 while on temporary duty at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, NM.

After a morning spent with family at Peach Springs, and grabbing some "chow" at the Snow Cap in Seligman, this was a great catch as I made my way east on Route 66. After getting my war pony serviced in Flag on this fine July Saturday, I had a chance to hangout at East Darling for a bit from 1115 to 1230hrs. The heat got a bit intense for me so I decided to head for the house. It was great to catch 2 KCS Belles and those rare BNSF units I hardly catch. The leader actually says *NSF* on it. The *B* was faded off.
This was a very rare and cool catch. This was equipment from Canadian Army; 2 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group headed from CFB Petawawa (NW of Ottawa) heading to the National Training Center @ Ft Irwin, CA. This was 1 of 4 trains for the unit would spend 45 Days at NTC for Exercise Maple Guardian which ran from Jan-1-2010 thru Feb-25th approximately.

Wow. Both mixed freights were huge at 190 cars and 219 cars. That's not the BNSF I am familiar with and the fact there are no intermodal trains in this outing. That's crazy.
As I was on the move on I-40 I missed 3 intermodals. Dime a dozen. Today's shots were worth the time in spite of the weather. I like that lookout over the Coronado Sub. I'll be back there again.
