Sony "Music Player" App walkthrough
Просмотров 2449 часов назад
The Sony stock player for their DAPs is very good. The only one I prefer is USB Audio Player Pro. Unfortunately it is only for Sony devices and can't be used as a third party app on non Sony devices. *Edit/correction* After more testing the Sony Music Player does read edited metadata on AIFF files. No artwork for "Feel The Real" issue after messing with it (deleting/editing/re-uploading onto SD...

I like the size, ergonomics and form factor of the ibasso dx180. Sound is pretty much the same as other DAPs I have heard and reviewed previously. The only noticeably audible difference in sound between these devices is the Sony NW-WM1AM2 and Fiio M23 both have a wider soundstage. All Sony devices I have tried have a noise floor. Mango Player is decent but ibasso really need to improve the navi...

My impressions using the RME Fireface UCX II (12/9/24)
Просмотров 56414 дней назад
My experience using the RME Audio Fireface UCX II following a long hiatus using any audio interface or making music. My last use of an audio interface was in 2009 with the Edirol UA-700. That was an audio interface/guitar amp sim/modeler. My main reason for buying the RME Fireface UCX II was for longevity and best in industry driver support. In 10-20 years from now the device will still work an...

Fiio M23. My impressions of it after having it for a few months. www.otic-audio.co.uk/ Negatives: Mediocre specs for the price (Android 10, 720p screen, etc) Some ground hum/noise when listening on IEMs and the device is plugged in to a charger on Desktop Mode Zero information from Fiio on the alleged update to Android 12 The sound isn't particularly impressive, more competent/good I don't like...

In this vid there is advertising. I don't mind though.
Screen recording via the ibasso DX180. It isn't very smooth.
**Edit/correction** After more testing the Sony Music Player does read edited metadata on AIFF files. No artwork for "Feel The Real" issue after messing with it (deleting/editing/re-uploading onto SD Card) Issue with "In Utero" fixed after downloading (pirate) another version of the album that includes the bonus track (track 13) Didn't have to do any of this with other Music Player Apps (USB Audio Player Pro, Fiio Music)
Hi Luke, I have a problem with album cover on the app. I tried many times to put on the Music Center Sony for PC then I transfer the album to the DAP and it doesn't work. Any idea how to solve it? Thanks.
I only use Mac not PC and the Sony Music Center is PC only. I use Mp3tag and CoverLoad for all my artwork and metadata. Try that.
I download video then watch offline ))) True underground !
To be fair, it's better with good content creators like you 😊. I have no adverts on your channel btw.
As the creator of a topic on RUclips, you run the risk of seeing this page closed again, because they'll accuse you of criticising RUclips, pointing out how to get around advertising and stop them making as much money as possible
I haven't created this topic, it already exists but I get what you are saying. If they remove it so be it. I have it up on other platforms.
hi, very good video! how do manage to get all your artwork on? most of mine is missing making it very difficult to see what albums I'm clicking on!
MP3tag and CoverLoad
Nice review man I watched your other video where you were reviewing the Fiio M23 and talking about whether or not you were going to buy the iBasso DX180 glad to see you made the jump 💯. I have recently bought one myself and it's my first ever DAP and I'm 27 but I gotta say it's such a gorgeous looking device and really an aesthetic treat for the eyes especially that beautiful SHARP screen the colours absolutely POP! and of course the sound performance is literally the best I've ever heard from a piece of high end audio equipment I love mine very much 😁. Hope you will enjoy yours too and stick with it 😎🔥.
Is it worth buying the DX180 over the Hiby R4 ? Considering the huge price gap ?
Yes it is it's superior in sound performance in every conceivable way, truly. It is currently one of the best sounding daps on the market regardless of price.
I haven't used the R4 so I can't comment on it.
You have a special talent: it's very difficult to follow your line of speech! You speak in long and very monotonous sentences. Plus: you are making your videos about three times longer than they are tolerable to watch. Google: how to create a great speech or something of the sort.
Look forward to your better videos... I am sure you're not a guy who just whines anonymously in comment sections. You're free to not watch and you'll not be missed.
@@PerputuallyCensored Ha-ha-ha! You are funny: RUclips is full of better crafted videos on the subject than you make, man. You need to be competitive if you want to be relevant.
@@trubadyr99 I could not care less about your opinion, some anonymous kid online. I have zero desire to be "relevant" to someone like you. Go comment on other videos or better yet go make your own videos and show me how it is done. You won't of course because you can't.
The removable battery is such an attractive capability of this player, but the way the OS environment has been configured with Mango player and some of the Android settings being made inaccessible is deal breaker for me, which is unfortunate. Otherwise it seems like a player that could potentially last for a very long time with battery changes. Thanks for your detailed review on players, Luke.
I really hate how much bloatware they put on their stuff, there's just no need for any of it it's infuriating.
Бесполезное видео, ни сказал ни чего нового. Зачем вообще видео делал?
When I listen to music, I don't need the latest chipset, many GB of RAM, or a great screen. I don't want to get any notifications or other distractions. Also, most of my headphones have custom, nice balanced cables with a 4.4mm tip. For me, the ideal solution is a DAP. Most DAPs currently sold are powerful enough to easily run streaming apps or play files from an SD card. Multitasking, multithreading is not required - when I listen to music, the device usually lies on the side.
Excellent review with unique talking points. Sadly, I would have liked to hear your thoughts on the Poweramp audio player for a comparative opinion. Keep up the good work
I don't use Poweramp. It doesn't do bit perfect and I don't like the UI.
I think there will never be a huge difference between sources, no matter if you compare a good dongle to a flagship dap, especially if both deliver sufficient power to drive your iems. The most differences ive heard were when i was comparing R2R dac to a delta sigma and also when i was comparing a source powered with a class A amp to a AB or B class amp. But they were subtle at most. In the most extreme cases i would give the source maximum 10% of making a difference. The rest is iem, tips/headphone, pads.
I have the Hiby R6III very happy with it, I think it compares with the DX180. The Sony music app is crap, on my A306 (EU cap version) the app resets every time the dap turns off, and will not resume playback from where it stopped, not even the track it was playing as it restarts from the very beginning just like if it was the first time playing player was turned on, the only nice thing about it is the cassette screen saver!
Mine doesn't do that but I have a Japanese uncapped version.
@@PerputuallyCensored That's good to know, I'll try to find out what's going on maybe is my micro SD card, but the only 2 reasons I kept it were because I forgot to return it on time (30 days) as I was very busy at work and the cassette thing, also it's very portable while I'm commuting compared to the R6III but the battery drains really quick because I need to keep it at a higher volume level to get a decent listening experience, the R6III is in another league in almost every department: class AB amp, Bluetooth receiver, output options etc. I think I'll try the A307 Japanese version as it has a 64GB memory.
I just can't wait to receive mine, in just 2-3 days at my home, finaly...after a long month waiting, i am so excited to get this 😊
Good review but I can tell the difference between DAP such as my ibasso Dx260 after burn in 200 hours sounds different. Also LG touch has a darker background compared to mine.😎
Not at 198 or 199.5 hours?
😂😂😂😂
@@PerputuallyCensored I wonder how many hours a phone takes before the burn-in makes phone calls sound their best... "Sorry if my voice has less midrange and not as holographic as usual mum, it will sound better in another hundred hours or so."
Thanks for the review and comparison. This video is exactly what I was looking for.
Nice review, thank you for being honest about the sound quality. If you have a chance some day try Hiby R8 II. I know it's crazy expensive but I am sure you will hear sound difference on that device ;)
Unless I am sent one for free I'll not ever try that device.
The DX180 is an amazing-sounding device! It pairs beautifully with the Kiwi Ears Orchestra Lite and Simgot EA500. Plus, the battery life is solid. Highly recommend this setup!"
No man Lg have "low volume" and THAT a problem ALL phones ! Maybe Onkyo GrandBeat can or Marshall London but not LG V60 (((
Perhaps the gapless issue will get resolved with the release of the R3 III next year.
I recently ordered a v60☺

brilliant comparison review
In every music player review I watch, the lyrics feature is always ignored or overlooked. No one talks about them. I don't know why. In this review, for example, browsed through the settings, display lyrics but never checked it out
Time to make your own reviews that cover the things you want. I have no interest in the feature you mentioned but to each their own.
Perhaps not a completely correct question, but if I have the opportunity to buy wm1a (the first one) for 300-350 dollars, is it worth buying it? Or is it better to save some more money and get a zx707/wm1am2? I'm not interested in streaming, only offline music.
Only you can decide but the wm1a is supposed to be a great sounding device with good battery life, albeit those devices are old now so their batteries aren’t fresh. A decent condition one should still give you over 20 hours playback though. Of the 3 you have mentioned I have only heard and used one. It sounds good but I think it is overpriced.
@@PerputuallyCensored Thanks for the answer. I also think the price is too high. Initially I planned to buy an a55, but they suggested to me to look towards the zx300 or wm1a because the sound there is much better, according to them. I will be ordering from Japan (I won’t be able to listen before purchasing), that’s why I’m collecting different opinions =) The A306 is newer, but the WM1a is a flagship, albeit an old one. And they now cost the same price.
If you want the best possible sound and better power get the WM1A. A306 is great but it is pricey. My A55 still works great and sounds good. The latter 2 are smaller and lighter so more portable, if that is a factor for you.
When i plug my high impedance earphones into my V20 I will get a message in the quad DAC screen telling me they're high impedance earphones but I don't get that message on my V60
Hey, how did you get rid of the Google Search bar at the top of the home screen?! I've been trying ... with zero luck!
Not sure you can but you can change your main/home page to what I did so it is out of sight.
@@PerputuallyCensored I see. I just hate having that search bar so much.... It's really not needed on a music device....
Thumbs up for the degoogleing 😊
Only one headphone out and two mic pres
Rme is hands down one of the best companies, they provide driver updates for legacy devices for so long. They have a usb remote or an app to remote control total mix that I find nice to have.
Way overpriced.
for that price, focusrite clarette+ series kills it. in terms of AD /DA preamp, everything, also dosent heat up like that
Will it still work in 15 years?
Could you guarantee that you would live intact for next 15 years? Abstract answer. Better to focus on present, than worrying for 15 years. As of electronics, it can go wrong any second, even a day after warranty expires. So whats the point?
The answer is no. It won't work as the drivers will no longer be supported and you'll need to buy another one.
@@PerputuallyCensored whatever gets you to sleep.
Is the wifi still bad for streaming music? Can it download playlists fast enough to make up for it?
I never had an issue with bad wifi on the M300. I sold it a while ago anyway.
Whatever it is, it certainly is interesting.

Hi Luke, you might want to try Apple dongle. I use it with my Hype 10 and it sounds fine. Also very small, easy to carry and cheap. Thanks for the content.
nice comparison man....is there any trick to use V60 in high impedance mode when using iems?
It has plenty of power for most IEMs. There is a trick/hack to boost the power, should you need it, which I have done a video on.
