Have been worried about this myself on my own project which is off for blasting soon. I've stripped the roof and rear quarters down to bare metal so the blaster can just gloss over them quickly to key them up for epoxy and shouldn't warp anything.

In the vid you go 80/120/180/240, Is the 80/120 mainly to focus shape filled areas and 180/240 on entire panel just to do that final 10% blending and remove the 80/120 scratches? Will the spray filler cover a 80/120 scratch say if you miss one with the 240? Thanks guys

Do you block all the peel out of the epoxy before spray filler or does the spray filler cover the epoxy peel just fine?

Great job. It's a viscosity cup for measuring the length of time it takes the paint, from full, to start to drip rather than run. I always use to dilute until the paint takes 8.5 to 9.0 secs to start to drip. Lovely colour and also a dark navy blue metalic would also been good too..!!

These videos are great. I am doing my own restoration and just did a course with Gavin Pink (saw you using some of his blocks I think?). Going Novol from start to finish. These videos are really good in addition to the course I did! Lot's of detail. With the spray filler do you finish off with an orbital or stick to hand blocking?

I always learn something new watching your videos. Very artful fabrication, with excellent attention to detail. The customer sometimes is their own worst enemy: He should have opted for the SS reinforcing wire, which make a huge difference in terms of stiffness. Very well done,and it is great to see the old fashioned buck used. I made one for the front lower valance on my Aston, and I had about 300 hours into the buck! Thanks for another great video!

Great job. I saw a couple of Astons, a DB5 and a DB6, go through our local paint shop in the mid 80s, and they stripped them back to bare metal, painted them to what was a good standard at the time but no way did they spend 500 hrs. I guess times have changed. All that polishing was something I never saw done back then, often cars were sent out with an out of the gun finish. The only time I saw flatting and polishing was with the old cellulose paints, even then I don't think there were so many stages. As I say, I think times may have changed.

Marvelous colour choice and care for this beautiful DB6! Is the car going away now for reassembly elsewhere? I would forbid them from touching her for at least a month until that paint cures. Absolutely a top job!
