Testing A Steel Single Speed Bike Path Shredder
I bought this for my wife. I put flat bars and hydraulic breaks on it and its absolutely perfect for her. I have a gravity avenue and they are pretty much the same spec. I have upgraded mine over the years and uts the ultimate Frankenstein GB. 11 speed, tubeless, and juice brakes. I have done some EPIC events on it!
What bike prep/mods did you use?
Awesome video just got myself a flat bar g1. by the way do you have a link to that frame bag ?
Nice you will have a blast on it, just type this into amazon. MAMMOTH EMPIRE Bike Frame Bag Bike Bag Bicycle Triangle Bag Bike Storage Bag Bicycle Frame Pouch Bag for MTB Road Bike Cycling Bike Accessories Water resistant Bicycle Bags
Wider bars might help
Narrow is aero and aero is fast😜
@Hardtail-Shredder-Trilordy you get alot more control for technical features but. I was on narrower bars for the longest time only a little difference
I was there that day. Didn’t see you because we left early. Great job!
That’s awesome, thanks!
Great work 💪
Thanks!
I also have the same fork in my Ozark
Nice, it’s a sweet fork.
Good stuff!
Thanks!
I’m looking at getting into cycling for exercise but can’t spend more than $300 at the moment and don’t want to mess with used market since I know nothing about bikes. This seems like a perfect bike to gauge whether I’d enjoy cycling. Only problem is I’m 6’1” and 270lbs. Do you think this bike would handle my weight (and height with medium frame)? I’d be mostly on asphalt and if I’m on gravel it would be smooth gravel bike paths, no trails like you rode in this video. Any thoughts?
I think you should be good, just make sure you good the bigger size. You can also change your stem or seat post to get a better fit as well. It’s a great bike, you can’t beat it for the money.
@ Thanks man, will likely end up getting it! Really enjoying your videos! I just stumbled across your channel last night and that’s how I heard about the bike.
My G1 is supposed to arrive today How is yours holding up to racing conditions? I'm planning on riding mine for commuting and short paved trail rides for exercise
You will love it, I have changed a ton on parts on mine to make it more competitive and easier to work on for racing. But I did put a ton of rough miles on the stock setup.
Man, your going to fast.
🤣🤣🤣
✌️💪🏼
Need to hook up a link so we can grab those upgrades.
I can’t, I didn’t order most of the parts I got them from a local bike shop.
Hello. What size is the seat post. I would like to up grade my seat post. Not sure the size. I got a bontreager upgraded saddle on mine already. I have the small frame. Not sure of the post though thank you!
I’m pretty sure it’s a 27.2mm seatpost.
NICE, I'm working on a G1 Explorer build ... Can you please tell me the exact fork that you got trying to find one with the right specs, bought one and it wouldn't work. - Thanks
Type this info Amazon ZTZ 1-1/8" 26/27.5/29" Aluminum Alloy Rigid Disc Brake MTB Fork, 28.6mm Threadless Straight Tube Superlight Mountain Bike Front Fork. Just keep in mind that fork will slightly change the geometry of the bike.
I kinda wanna do this. I have a race in January, just a fun run for bikes & beers, and i wanna use the G1 explorer for it lol
You should go for it, it will be a blast!
Stock wheels and tires?
Stock wheels and Continental sport 700x28 tires.
All these guys on carbon Fibre and bikes that cost thousands of dollars and you are blowing by them on the 248$ Ozark Trail G.1 Explorer it's awesome so many people are buying this bike trying to find the cons of of this Walmart branded bike and they can't find anything I love it and I love your videos keep up the good work 👍
Thanks!
Lets not be delusional the frame is solid but heavy the shifting is clunky and the brakes are fine though it is definitely showing that good bikes can be affordable.
Brakes maybe not. Mine brand new simply couldn’t be adjusted. Waiting on a set of two piston mechanical calipers and new rotors.
awesome ride
So is it a fast bike pr just a cruong around exploring type of bike
It’s for exploring and fast cruising.
Rap music , really ???????
I can really tell it's a Walmart bike.. no joke..
Looked like fun howd you place .bike summary?.😊
17th out of 127 and 4th in my age group. I have to make an update video on the bike soon.
I rewatched it and missed the part where you tell your place sorry.good video
Like riding in a day dream.
I just got this bike but already I noticed its a pretty stiff ride which I assumed it would be given it doesn't have any suspension so I'm wondering how people deal with this on the trails? Is it you just let your knees and arms soak all the bumps or what? before this I only ever rode mountain bikes so I was always used to having that plush suspension
Yeah you let your knees and arms eat up the bumps.
this is a gravel bike not a mountain bike lol
Hope you are OK after the hurricane, and good video!
Thanks we are doing good, didn’t have power for 10 days and still no internet. But I’m hoping to start back pumping out videos soon.
what forks are those it looks like an older marzhocchi
They are it’s a Bomber 66.
@@Hardtail-Shredder-Trilordy oh i tought it was a drop off but my fav forks are the bomber 66 how good is it?
It’s awesome, I really like them.
This thing looks like it handles single track well! Good riding man. Im picking this bike up this weekend to try out myself.
Nice, you will definitely enjoy it!
@@Hardtail-Shredder-Trilordy it's a beast, did my first ride with it today. Worth the money
Sweet, I’m glad you’re enjoying it!
@@Hardtail-Shredder-Trilordy yessir did 20 miles of road/gravel mix and it was sweet. Fyi if you want an aggressive tire set up, a 29x1 fits the rear, but with very little clearance left, and a 29x2.25 fits the front just right. I'm gonna take it out to some single track and let it rip.
Full send but have you got a lawyer for that case. 👍
I like that😜
Awesome backyard trail! How long did it take to build?
The bulk of the cutting was probably a few months, but I have slowly been added more stuff over the years.
What size frame you have?
The Medium.
The only thing the bike needs is front shocks
why would a gravel bike need front suspension lol
Personal preference if you can get front suspension to work for gravel bike it will just make ridding over bumps more smooth @@terrycruise-zd5tw
So far I have 50 miles on bike and added a lagoon beach cruiser seat because I ride Alot and weight 210 so I need max comfort
You can still do Lake Trail, climb up from the dam to Dam Rd Trail, and then take Pine Tree Loop back to Rocky. They've cut a lot of trees in the last month due to Pine Bark beetles.
Nice looking CXer. Like the wide flare dirt drops. How narrow is that bar "hood to hood", across the top?
Thanks, 16in’s.
Got mine over the weekend. Needs some adjusting but it’s gonna be a tinker bike/project.
Nice!
Dude in the middle of the trail…wierd hahaha.
Lol I know right.
That is a fun one
Enjoying my G1 👍😎
Love the jeep fam!
So hard to find these in their bigger sizes, and even more difficult to find any info from people that have ridden the smaller one to see if it makes much of a difference
I’m riding the medium and I’m 5’10”.
I'm riding the small couldn't find medium I'm 5/11 weight 215 everything is perfect I'm adding djc bike suspension seatpost and bigger seat for more comfortable ride for heavier person and I will be adding a phone holder for now. I would love a front suspension soon because I ride the bike to work 25 miles a day. I rode 12 miles today I overall love the bike I just need more comfortable seating that's all I ride 12 miles to work 12 miles back the gears make the travel so smooth and not much power needed I might get street tires since I'm using this for commute more and keep the gravel tires for when I want to go off-road riding 🥇💎🌎⛱️🏖️🦾💚🥇
love you sigma
I’d love to hear the history of this frame!
It would be better if they offered the frame set by itself for $50. I feel like I would be wasting money on parts I would just pitch in the bin.
this bike got me back into biking again, having some issues with the front derailer, but other than that I got a hundred miles in so far, starting to feel physically better, thanks for sharing your ride bro
Nice, glad to hear that.
Which seat post did you go with
A Giant brand carbon fiber one.
Awesome build.Very cool real garage workshop
Thanks, I glad you enjoyed it.
Very Cool ..
Dude that rocks great vid .Subbed and liked super cool.
