Is that the 130lb limb?
@@TheShonuff888 yep, no twists in the string. When I post the second half of the video I'll shoot some stuff with the 180lb 💪🏻
@ 😂yes it wasn’t a good look when the bolt bounced off. Keep doing what you’re doing, i like these tests
@TheShonuff888 not a good look at all 😵 although the bag is made for compound bows and crossbows and rated 405FPS so it stops smaller power bows with ease. Interesting how the field tip bounced off the bag but then the broadhad punched through the ply about 12" when I missed the gammon for the first time!
Great video mate you got some of them spiral ones then💯💪😎👍
@@The.Air.Weapon.Channel Thank you sir! Yeh I found them I think on ebay. Pretty tasty! If it wasn't for your videos I wouldn't have thought to front load 15" bolts so, thank you 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Stick a cheap scope on it bro and watch the 30-40 yard shots come together. It’s the red dot sights that’s on the limit @ 20 yards if you’re looking for tight groups.
Oh, you’ve got a new sub too! A 👍 & a new sub from a fellow 180lbs owner. They have plenty of power for sure!
Great video, thank you. I wonder if much energy is being lost with the mag popping up like that.
@@carlmarkwyatt Hi Carl, thanks for the comment 🙏🏻 I suspect not but when I have a spare £100 I'll probably buy it again, it looks cool and of the three mags (5, 7 & 18) the 7 is my favourite for function and looks!
@@SHTFpreppingUKyeah I like the 7 over the 5 as the extra bolts are useful and it's much easier to load. I've only shot one at 130ibs though so haven't experienced the mag pop issue.
@carlmarkwyatt well the mag broke because I dropped it on its head 😑😑 annoying because I cracked it straight through the middle 🙃 before that though, I've owned it for quite some time and put a lot of bolts through it. 18 shot mag is a bit too heavy fully loaded IMO plus the optic is really high

@SHTFpreppingUK I no wot u mean 👊😎
Hi mate great video that's why I use the scope that I use it has all the lines in it so you zero it for your distance u like to shoot at but if you ever need to shoot closer or further away it has the extra lines for you to account for that the adder is very accurate at Long Distance especially with long bolts and heavier arrowheads I was surprised that your groups with the adder the red dot sight is for close range really I did send you the link to my scope in one of hour other messages👍 and with the venom extreme limb you'll get more accurate at longer distance as well hope that helps you out 👊😎👍
@@The.Air.Weapon.Channel I can't find the link dude 🥲 the grouping wouldn't have been so bad had the wind now been to strong, it was a force 6 cross wind so it was pulling the Xbow up down, left right, targets getting blown over 🤣🤣 but I continued with the test because in reality, it may be windy on the day the Z's come for me! I suspect on a Force 2 wind day I'd be much more accurate 🙏🏻 I didn't wanna go 220lb limb because I'm not a huge fan of GogunUK
Hi have you tried putting the broadheads on the smaller bolts? I did you have to cut them down a little...what's your opinion on the smaller bolts with the 2 part broadheads you have?
@@RTK85 Thanks for the comment 🙏🏻 I have put them on but as you'll know, they won't then fit inside the magazine so you have to buy gogun broadhead/ bolts to work it. Can't comment on those as never purchased them. I haven't actually shot the smaller bolts with a beoadhead in purely because they won't fit in the magazine. I've only shot 15" 2 parts I've dropped down the front of the crossbow.
@SHTFpreppingUK I brought the 7 round magazine so they fit and it makes life a lot easier with the upgraded magazine I would honestly invest in one if possible but don't buy the speed loader it has never worked for me right pile of junk
@@RTK85 ohhhh OK OK, I have the 7 shot and 18 shot mag but have the 5 shot sat on the Xbow for the video as this is the magazine most ppl are likely to have straight away. I didn't know the broadheads would fit in the 7, great info, thank you

What would be interesting is different bow tips and what kind of damage they do. I was surprised when i shot a thin sharp broad head tip and a field tip into a 1/2 plywood. @@PaulJohnson-lv7jt thank you sir🙏🏻🙏🏻
I'm sure you know that there are crossbows with magazines and cocking aids: Adder, Interceptor, Revo 7, etc. In my opinion, the main problem with these crossbows is the small bolts (or special bolts/nocks). Yes, some of them can be accurate at 30-35 m, but I like my arrow/bolt to have mass (momentum of motion). That's why I use an Adder with 15-inch arrows and a custom 8-arrow magazine. An alternative to that is the Whipshot (bow with a 6+1 shot magazine; you can squeeze one arrow more), which is even better in terms of rate of fire. In any case, a very interesting video!
@Hebesgugl thanks for the comment. Thank you for the info but I am lucky enough to own an adder with all the upgrades and the Steambow M10 amongst other basic crossbows. I have other videos on them if you fancy a look 💪🏻🏹

Nicely explained about the pin slipping out when in a side position. I think i will stick with the AR6
@@southfolk thanks for the comment 🙏🏻. I considered rhe AR6 before I bought the Adder. Such a tough choice with so many great little Xbows on the market!!
The adder can fire bigger bolts
@@greatgalar5772 bigger meaning longer or heavier?
@SHTFpreppingUK both, but in fairness I then watched another of your videos and you were firing longer bolts. I've got the 90lb one and need to up it to at least 130 I think. Although as I've found out I can't attach the magazine to my version of the adder 🤦🏼♂️
@@greatgalar5772 yes I was going to say I have shot longer and heavier from my adder previously. Actuslly just received some new bolts in the post today to try and make a better video of the adder broadhead test. Depending what you're doing 90lbs is fine I would suspect. Hunting small game I would assume 90lbs is sufficient but IMO taking on zombies you want at least, atleast! 130lbs minimum but perhaps 180 would be better. Bolts would rip right through them! I haven't owned an R9 or the other version but I believe you can buy magazine attachments from "upbolt". Look it up on Google. Few ppl have commented on my videos speaking about their attachments 👌🏼
I've got the magazine and speed loader, however after watching Jorge's videos on fitting one to an R9 I've realised that I quite like my fingers attached to my hands and equally it'll be cheaper to buy an adder in the long run.... or a Siege 🤣
@greatgalar5772 personally, I haven't held a Seige, but from the extensive research I've done, I'd go with the Adder. Completely up to you of course 🤣
Is it possible to buy a bolt with treads on it and just bolt it tight on the other end to secure it not falling out?
@@JvD1985 good suggestion. I thought about drilling a hole through the other side and putting a linch pin through but not sure you can buy small enough linch pins. It's genuinely not been as issue for me since buying and shooting the Xbow
That adder is something else very powerful that secend tip is a bodkin type very good at penetrating metal 👌
I haven't twisted the strings either, you can buy a 220lb limb and twist the strings a few times. Put a 15" bolt on the Xbow and it would be devastating!!
Great shooting test mate👍 yeah it's pretty hard to get long distance with iron Sights on any crossbow really but chuck a scope on them and you'll get them to shoot really far if the bow is capable of long distance👊😎
@@The.Air.Weapon.Channel I have only ever owned the siege scope which I think we've already spoke about and that it is rubbish. Soon enough I'll buy a scope and see how far I can shoot, I suspect even the Jag 1 will go a long way as I shot a tight group at 40 yards with a red dot sight in a previous video. Just about finding the right scope I guess 🏹💪🏻
@SHTFpreppingUK when I get 5 minutes I will send you the link to the scope that I use it works on air rifles and crossbows it's only about £60 👊😎
Great shooting buddy you are pretty munch on point at realistic ranges that all that counts I have the jag1 and a horse bow for SHTF situations and the jag1 defo needs cocking rope to stay accurate over 30/40yrds but it is a very accurate xbow for the money I noticed you shoot left handed I do as well but I'm actually right handed but can only shoot catapults/bows left handed but rifle/xbow left handed I have no idea why this is but it's how I feel comfortable thanks for sharing the video 😉👍
@Mike-nf1pp H Mike, thanks for the comment! Glad you like the video. IMO value for money - Jag 1 is #1 of all the xbows I own. I have posted a previous video on the Jag 1 where I'm taking it out to 40 yards on the red dot sight. I am left handed yes which unfortunetly makes buying bows sometimes more difficult as there's usually less left handed options🤣 I wonder if you shoot left handed because you're left eye dominant? What do you think of the Horse bow? Why do you have a horse bow over say a recuve or long bow?? Thanks again 🙏🏻
@SHTFpreppingUK I'm actually right eye dominant but shoot bows/catapults with both eyes open so my left eye takes over as dominant when I shoot bows etc it's strange but works for me 🤣 I chose to shoot the horse bow because it's really fast but the siyahs act almost like cams on a compound they let off a bit at full draw making it a bit lighter to draw at higher poundage so kinda like the best of both in a recurve but I'm looking into a really nice 2 piece takedown longbow I prefer recurve over compound bows as there is less to go wrong and in realistic situations like SHTF a recurve is always the way to go as you can practically do all there repairs yourself ill check the rest of your videos out buddy I'm very interested in your content specially as we are both lefty shooters 🤜🤛
@Mike-nf1pp this is exactly why I don't own either a compound Xbow or bow as in SHTF I suspect they'll have a far shorter life span than my basic bows/ xbows. Saying that I am interested in EK archery whipshot compound bow. But need to work out whether lefties can shoot it first as it isn't cheap! Would make for a great video though 🏹💪🏻
@@SHTFpreppingUKyour absolutely right about your recurves lasting longer in a SHTF situation I'm also looking into compound because the accuracy and power are very intriguing but as you mentioned we are quite limited in our options being lefties I'll look out for your video should you get one buddy 💯👌
@@SHTFpreppingUKwhat is the name of the bow you are using in this video it's very quiet 👌

Great video mate some good shots there I love shooting bows especially the original longbows👊😎🏹🧟
@@The.Air.Weapon.Channel have you done any longbow videos??
@SHTFpreppingUK no not yet I will do as soon as I get some new bows 🏹👊
I used bows for 30 years and always thought bows are better than crossbows if you know how to use them that is , where crossbows are easy to use and almost instantly on target for any random person shooting one , I use a stripped down compound bow like a recurve or long bow with only a arrow rest and a good glove to pull the string set a 50 lb , there are reasons compounds are even more versatile as you can turn power up or down with a hex / allan key from 40lb to 80 lb , also because compounds are shaped like they are your hand never covers the target at any distance , and in a zombie apocalypse because they are always strung like crossbows are ready to use . disadvantage with compound bows , if you want to restring or the string comes off you need bow press and a bit of understanding about the cams to restring , bow press is around £50 and string sets from £50, to take to a shop to restring is around £130, one more disadvantage is price a cheap but good compound bow is around £ 300 with accessories and cheap arrows , the big difference is the more expensive the bow the lighter and smoother shooting the bow is and the cheaper ones usually made of machined aluminium where as the expensive are made of carbon fibre . You need a more powerful bow its not powerful enough for you , Like these vids 👍things and comparisons normal people want to see , thanks for the vid 👍
Hi Dave, thank you for the comment! I agree with everything you're saying, almost anyone can pick up a crossbow and be on target but being accurate with a bow takes continuous practice and time! Interesting fact about your hand never covering the target with compound, I've only shot one once, a friends, at about 20 yards so never actually got stuck into one. Main reason being, like you've so rightly pointed out, they require far more maintenance which can also be a lot more costly which for me isn't worth it atm. perhaps if I end up deeper down the archery rabbit hole I'll purchase one but if I had a spare £300 I'd rather buy a 55lb recurve one piece bow I think. I'm about to upload another video where I'm shooting my (cheap) 55lb horse bow so would be interested to read your comments. Thanks again. Really appreciate the feedback.
@@SHTFpreppingUK yes agreed , different bows all do the same thing shoot arrows and thats all thats needed , will watch your next vid , thanks pal 👍

@@AerialAuraDrone thank you sir 🙏🏻
18 shots too cumbersome. In a Real life situation, you're lucky to deliver 2 shots.
Wasn't impressed with the power the adder put out when watching other vids but with longer heavier bolts it may be something I will buy in the future and with out the mag and overly expensive small bolts they are good value for the price , Thanks for the vid 👍
@@Dave300AMG you can buy broadhead bolts that fit in the adder magazine, I just don't have them because like you say... expensive and I agree. However, steambow broadheads are £10 each too so similar price and smaller. IMO the entire market is over priced but its a yound innovation. Hopefully in the future with more competitors prices will come down 🙏🏻
With the 190 lb Venom limbs, and twisting the string 16 times (220 lb), the Adder makes a very effective home defense weapon. Add broadheads or Bodkin tips and the penetration becomes impressive.
@SciD1 220lb with broadheads would obliterate most targets!!
That's pretty good for the distance, especially for such small and light bolts. I have the 190 lb limbs, but I haven't tried that far yet. I even twisted the string 16 times to make it around 220 lb. I'm using a 3x prism scope, and a green laser. Anyway, that crossbow hasn't been designed for such distances. It's a tactical crossbow, and I bought it for home defense. A gun is ridiculously complicated to own where I live in Canada. And technically, I'm not allowed to use it as self protection. But hey, if I ever need to defend my family, f*ck 'em!
@@SciD1 thanks for the comment🙏🏻 I haven't ever twisted the strings but I am keen in the future, maybe in Spring when there is less wind to twist the string on the 180lb limb and take her out to 50 yards with 15" bolts hopefully. I appreciate it isn't designed for distance but it's still quite fun to shoot long distance as well as close!! Certainly a good option for home defense I'd assume!!

Cobra Adder offers a 18 shot magazine and enough power to do the job, with 18 shots that's very important to consider you don't have to reload till after 18 shots.
@@MrDilley777 what I will say is, I own the 7 and 18 shot magazine and they're prone to jamming, IMO not reliable in a zombie apocalypse. The 5 shot is the only magazine that's never jammed. Don't know why but I've found I spend more time unloading Jams in the 18 shot than I do shooting it. Its fun, really fun, and looks cool AF but not reliable for taking down Zs IMO 🙏🏻 I'll probably do a video on the 7 and 18 shot magazine soon though
@@SHTFpreppingUKI have the 7-shot magazine, with the 190 lb limb. It never jammed on me. Would be very reliable against zombies invading my home, I'm sure.

Yeah the higher the pounds the heavier the bolts should be. I know these are popular in the UK because of the gun laws, and this bow is quick and can do damage.

I have shot my ek adder for 50 shots without waxing anything, idk how many i did in total on that string but it's still the first one. The m10 bolt problem is known all over. It has a mag so you can reload fast in case of emergency. What use is a crossbow that will disassemble itself somewhere in the middle of the 2nd mag? In a training szenario, ok, it still sucks but you can adjust. If you really need that thing you dont wax or anything like that is has to work and it seems like it will let you down.
Thanks the comment Mike. I think the difference is that for us in the UK, we would never use this crossbow for self defence or hunting as bow hunting us illegal in the UK. In the UK this crossbow is used purely for target shooting, the magazine element is just a unique quality that makes it more desirable from a buyers standpoint. The video was really only to give my unbiased opinion on the "bolt" problem as independent videos on RUclips are good for potential buyers. Thanks again. God bless 🙏🏻
I’ve got this one, really good quality for the price. Works well for hunting big game even. Only problem with mine is that the retention spring got bent somehow, so if I’m shooting downwards the arrow will just fall off the rail… I can’t quite figure out how to fix it properly, almost considering just buying a brand new jaguar altogether lol. Maybe I’ll go with the 2 pro next time.
