Part of a peal of Stedman Triples These bells are difficult to strike and the ropes are getting quite old. However the peal was really good with very little mistakes and had good striking considering the bells. Stedman Triples rung fast and well always sounds amazing. bb.ringingworld.co.uk/view.php?id=1576259 dove.cccbr.org.uk/tower/15804

Grandsire Doubles at Shaw, Berkshire

Shaw, Berks 6 bells 7-0-12 in A These bells are quite oddstruck and not very audible inside which makes them tricky to strike well. Although outside they are loud and crystal clear! This is the winning test piece of the ODG 6 bell striking competition. We rang 240 Grandsire Doubles conducted by me. Enjoy the view of Dad and Peter's legs. dove.cccbr.org.uk/detail.php?tower=11896

Lovely ringing. Rang here when they were fairly newly done!
Wilma?
Need retuning
Beautiful ringing!!
Very Low 6 for the weight. I ring at a 17cwt in Eb !
I ring on a 12cwt F#, and they are very comfortable with that tone.
@@patrickmeyer2802 will probably br an octave up but very interesting if not! What tower is this at?
@@NirvanaCovers74 St Andrew's, Walkerville, SA
Beautiful sound
this is the best ring of 8 in the world
cast by mears and stainbank trebles willam taylor bells 3 to 7 tenor 14-0-1cwts ellis knight
Does it honestly get any better, a beautifully harmonically tuned classic pre war Taylor peal and beautiful ringing. I love thexwell definded open leads which are easy with a tenor behind to lead from but when the tenor is turned in more difficult.
hohoho taylors
hung on 2 levels
heavy ring behind queen camel
They are slightly heavier than Queen Camel. St Buryan is 37cwt, where as QC is 36 cwt
@@RingerPeter ok so they are almost the same weight
@@ΝΙΚΟΣΠΟΔΑΣ-δ4σ almost yeah
Nice ringing 😊 Quite quiet in the ringing chamber compared to most places, but it seems to be the perfect volume. Most towers have ringing chambers where the bells are too loud for my tastes (or else excessively inaudible), these are just right. Reminiscent of volume in ringing chamber of Basford in Nottingham
I would they say they are fairly loud rather than quiet but certainly not deafening
@@danielbellringerLooking back you're right & I was talking nonsense, as my phone had decided to turn the volume down without me noticing 😅 They are indeed a tad loud
How would you say Abergavenny are in the ringing chamber?
@@RingerThomasAbergavenny are too quiet
Smashing bells, where do you ring?
This was the second course - we settled very, very quickly. Some nice ringing and they are a lovely eight, albeit trickier than they should be with the clock wires and floor timbers. Enjoyed ringing today, thanks for asking - and Happy Rest Of Your Birthday!
Thanks simonbellringer, happy to have rung a peal here!
Cracking bells deserve cracking ring.. Fantastic mental therapy to listen to.
@@danielbellringer hohoho taylors
Good striking, lovely bells, rung here a couple of times at the beginning of tours into Oxon. I agree with Simon, pity about the floor beams and clock wires which make ringing awkward, other than that they are real gems. Thanks for posting
Just noticed the sixth is catching on that shelf. There a lovely 8
its catching on the clock wires
@@danielbellringer yeah 🤔 when I was your age, I couldn't ring inside like that impressive for major. Now I'm learning method well still learning it since late last year.
This is soo impressive for the conductor to be 15 and at this level!!! Such great striking.
Whitney are nice bells
8 bells trebles and 3rd are john taylor 4th is henry II bagley 5th is thomas rudhall 6 is abel rudhall 7th is richard keene and tenor 16-3-11cwts thomas mears
lovely striking and an absolute pleasure to listen to. Congratulations to the young conductor on calling this none too easy composition so confidently.
Some good striking there!
The striking got much better further through the peal, this was taken about 30-40 mins into the peal but my phone didnt have enough storage to record the whole peal. I always make sure the striking is good on my videos before I upload them.
Radial frame I believe!
nice bells interesting tower
They seem oddstruck.
not as oddstruck as these ruclips.net/video/GkjvIN2Hx24/видео.html
Flipping heck I can't ring method inside and I can't ring anywhere in Major I would get absolutely lost
Are you a ringer?
@@danielbellringer Hi Daniel yes 😏 in 2019 it took me 10 years to learn in Cornwall but moved to Devon several years ago I am experienced at call changes but Learning method on treble for Plain Bob Triples but I can definitely cover on tenor now for Plain Hunting On 6 and 7 Bells and Stedman Triples and Grandsire Triples and Grandsire Doubles worlds hardest method for me is Cambridge 🤣 take ages to learn that and Superlative and probably a method called Pudsey
and I'm from North Devon
@@christianong3703 have you rung at exeter cathedral apparanlty there the tenor's clapper came off
@@ΝΙΚΟΣΠΟΔΑΣ-π4φ hello mate no I haven't I have not touched any rope's at Cathedrals I'm afraid I know 🤔 that's shocking I've been inside 2 Cathedrals truro and Exeter but I haven't rung at any Cathedrals in my my life tenor at truro is 33cwt in Db ring of 14 in left tower right tower 5 clock bells central tower no bells little tower on the bottom of the right of the central tower and its behind the right tower has 2 swinging bells heaviest 8 bells I have rung at is Pilton tenor 23cwt in D there nice to rung at truro Exeter are a very old mixture of bells but they sound well being the second heaviest 14 in the world
Really good ringing! Well done on conducting - Stedman Triples as a first peal as conductor isn't something that you see every day!
theres a empty frame but no plans for them to become a ring of 10
Good! It would spoil a good eight.
wonderful!
Really good bells!
amazing 👍
awesome! big like
Sounding very very nice. Shame to have lost it
Good bells, but not much breathing space. I feel this tower is only designed for a 13cwt ring of eight.😊
What do you think of the bells?
They are really good! Is this the tower which a really short draft?
@@tittums yes it does have a short draft
