I had always been warned about how loud MRI machines can be, but when I had my first scan I found it wasn't as bad as I had envisioned, even though they are still super loud and require you to wear hearing protection. However, in the scans I have experienced there were a lot more sounds than what is shown in the video. There were certain frequencies that came in short bursts that felt like they vibrated my body. It certainly is a cool experience being scanned by these marvels of engineering!"

Those are the beginning sounds… later on it goes into a rhythm thump thump tic tic thump thump thump tic tic tic and even the bass starts to kick in. As long as you request the bigger mri so you’re not so cramped it’s relaxing. If you’re claustrophobic just close your eyes and remember that there is an opening on both sides of the machine.

someone was like "100 gecs sounds like an mri scan" and I was like "hmmmmhmh is that true?" turns out it was. Another person said it sounded like Death Grips too

My first time in an mri was scary but after many routine checkups on my brain it’s actually soothing! It’s also helped me get over my fear of IVs with contrast!

And then the loud clacking and thunking starts. There's a reason they give you ear plugs and headphones. My favorite is when all the noises start at once and it sounds like the machine is going to break while you're in it. Not trying to make people anxious, but just want everyone to know that it does get worse, but it's supposed to.

When i had i thought I am about to die inside the machine with such haunted noise....😞😞

When the jackhammer sequence started, the table was shaking violently and I could see flashing lights ( apparently that was my retinas). I thought the machine was broken, it was so scary. I was not prepared for this at all

I have had my port placement because I have no IV access and I have been asked about it by many nurses and doctors. I was given the meds to help me with the pain and I have elhers danlos and they had to give me a little bit more pain meds but its almost been a month and I am so happy about having it. They were surprised that my pcp agreed to do it.
