@@davidak0496 Are you familiar with using auto aim? If the enemy you want to strike is nearby you don't always have to aim at them. It's not without its drawbacks but it helps cut back on hauling off across the board to punch the wrong guy.

You’re correct, bats can hit anything. Doesn’t mean they’ll hit what you’re aiming at though. 😅

Thanks, I appreciate it. I think I have enough points, just need to put the full run together. I’ve been trying to stuff more and more points into the first minute but I think I need to focus more on the back half of the run. I’m losing points compared to my old runs. I’ll figure it out.

In baseball, whiff means to swing and miss completely. I considered using miss but felt it didn’t fully capture just how badly I missed. I wasn’t even close.

1.5m is definitely possible. It’s been in the cards since we started using the REC special. The uncertain part of the strategy is when to switch from REC specials to takedowns. Using REC specials early in the run builds a bigger combo which then compounds throughout the round, but takedowns actually score so at some point they become the better play. I found an old run that used takedowns after the first brute instead of RECs and it scored 889k at the brutes. The 900k run I posted a few days ago includes a light smash so in terms of pure pace the 889k run is better. I think I’ll start using takedowns again and see if it gets me the last few thousand points I need for 1.5m.

The dream run is to put someone through the light at the buzzer. 💪 There’s ofc value in using a light smash earlier in the run but the difficulty for me is it leaves you very blind to what’s behind you. I do use them occasionally but I pretty much only ever upload new high scores so most don’t make the cut. I did put up a new best split last night of 900k at the brutes and I used a light smash in the run before I whiffed with the bat so maybe I’ll post it. Share some of the misery that goes on behind the scenes lol.

The most optimal strategy through the brutes this challenge is to use the bats. The tricky part is the number of brutes that spawn after the timer starts is random (there can be 1-5 brutes) so you can’t plan every move like you can in a challenge like Newton’s Cradle that has a set spawn schedule. In this run, I batted the first brute then a second brute spawned with a shield so I started looking for the second bat. Before I could get to the bat, a third brute spawned so I needed to damage one of the brutes if I wanted to KO them both with the one remaining bat (brutes on this challenge require 3 critical strikes with a bat to KO; each bat can perform 5 critical strikes and 1 strike when it breaks, so you can’t KO two brutes with one bat using just strikes). I decided to damage the shield brute with a takedown so then I’d be able to KO both with the bat. While attempting to do this a thug started to punch me so I conceded the bat takedown on the brute to avoid getting hit. Maybe I could’ve aimed a strike to pull me away from the incoming punch and then doubled back to the brute to finish the KO but it was a split-second decision. Personally, my strategy for this challenge was to start with the most optimal strategy then adjust as necessary depending on the spawns. I’ve seen others put up huge scores without the bats altogether, so they’re not necessary, just optimal in theory.

Thanks. Yeah, I fell in love with the speed combat in Knight so it’s the game in the series I’ve played the most. Admittedly, I didn’t really get into Asylum when it released. I played at a friend’s house and thought the combat was too simple. He later pushed me to try City and this time FreeFlow clicked and I had a lot of fun. I was excited for Knight but never expected I’d play it as much as I have. I don’t play that much anymore but still enjoy meeting new players and helping others on their climbs.

Not button mashing

When you start the game and have no upgrades, regular strikes score x1 combo points and critical strikes score x2. After you unlock the Freeflow Focus Mk 2 combat upgrade (and have special during your combo), regular strikes score x2 and critical strikes score x3.
