I originally started this RUclips channel to document my breast cancer journey but now I'm cancer free and ready to get back to living my best life! I started cancer treatment in March 2023 while living in Japan for the second time, then moved back to Australia in June 2023 for the rest of my treatment. In July 2024, I'll finish cancer treatment and I am super excited to move to the Middle East!

Day 427: I have finished my 11th immunotherapy infusion (Herceptin/Trasuzumab) out of 14! I also had my favourite nurse and she let me film everything! I also had a successful oncology check up appointment but not with my usual oncologist. Can't wait to be finished with breast cancer treatment!

@@danamariereyno6896 it’s normal to be nervous, I was so nervous before mine. But honestly, it wasn’t too bad. The drains were annoying and mine were hard to remove but otherwise, I found the port insertion much worse! Good luck and I’m here for you if you have anymore questions or need to vent! ❤️
I am facing cancer almost alone. My adult daughter is always distant from me. I have one friend who likes to share memes which I suppose is a way of support. My second parents haven't called me once. I met my faux dad and he tried to never mention c word. I have no one to physically help me. I'm trying to get home health aide but they keep sending them when I am well the day before i get chemo. My parents are gone and I feel so desperate for someone caring sometimes. Thank you for posting this. It's the only video I've seen on this topic.

Thank you for these tips. I'm waiting for a surgery date for DMX and DIEP reconstruction. I'm still trying to process everything that's happening. Listening to others share their journeys is very helpful.

I’m getting it’s I’m have CML CHRONIC MYELOID LEUKEMIA and I’m on. I’m oral chemotherapy and I’m getting pimples and acne everywhere. Getting on my back my legs, my neck OK I haven’t got on my face yet.
Oh no I’m so sorry about your diagnosis and that the chemo is giving you acne 😢😢😢 have you spoken to your oncologist about it? Hopefully they can give you some antibiotics (doxycycline) for the chemo rash/acneiform rash. I hope the leukemia responds to the chemo. I’m here for you, if you ever need to chat.

In 4 days it'll be 3 weeks after my double mastectomy. This year has been so weird, it's really surprising the ways in which people change and respond to you. Lost a couple of friends, but I never imagined how much support I'd get from my brother.
Hey breastie! You survived your DMX!!! 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽 The first couple of weeks are the hardest, are your drains out yet? I am wishing you a speedy recovery and I really hope the rest of your treatment (if you have any more) goes well. Cancer really brings out both the best and the worst in people doesn’t it? I am so glad you’re close with your brother, it makes all the difference, having support in your life during treatment. ❤️
I had some friends and family do the same thing. It is hurtful. But it says more about them than about you. I'm lucky to have people who care and check on me even when I don't feel like being bothered. Lol. I'm glad you found your real support system 💜

I am really glad you also have people in your life who are there for you! They’re the real ones! I was told I could shower. I purchased a grabber, it was so helpful.
That’s so interesting that they give different post surgery instructions in different places! I had friends in America who were allowed to shower with the drains too. Oh a grabber! That would be useful!
The drains hurt so bad being removed.
I am so sorry yours hurt to be removed too. They were literally being ripped out of our bodies 😢😢😢 I really hope breast cancer is behind you now. Have you got much more treatment?
Wow, girl your friends sound terrible. Sounds like they had issues going on before you were diagnosed. One sided friendships suck. I wish we were closer a real friend will be there for you when you're up and doing well or down and not doing so well. I am glad you got some friends to be there for you. I care for you :) Even if we don't know each other. I have to actually go get different photos and ultrasound done on my breasts tomorrow. They "found" something. I am hoping its not where they want another biopsy that sucked, I ended up passing out. Lets use our channel for venting and for getting everything off your chest. Hang in there. Wow, what a great video! Your advice resonates deeply with what my little sister often said, especially about feeling like she was missing out on things and sometimes feeling left out. My sister always wore a little pink bonnet, and she also liked to do her nails after chemo. Watching your video brought back so many memories. I hope it helps many people 🙏🏾

Thanks Jeremy! I’m really lucky that the immunotherapy are so easy to handle! I feel like it has just become a habit to exercise everyday! I also remember how horrible it felt to not be able to do anything after all my surgeries 😭😭 Oh Japan was so great for walking everywhere! Australia is the same as America I feel in that we need to drive everywhere 😐

Thanks Serena! Got to make up for lost time 😂 a whole year and a half I felt like I was just sitting on the couch feeling sick from chemo or recovering from surgery. This was before immunotherapy which is much easier than chemo I was lucky! The main thing is not to get sick because then I couldn’t get my herceptin immunotherapy infusion!! 😭

You have to pay to go potty? Wow that’s crazy. With my stomach issues I would end up not being able to go out if it was like that here.
Yeah I wonder if there’s vandalism in non-manned public toilets or people just want to make money. But yes, you have to pay to use public toilets in Europe!

Your comment about station Bruxelles midi is totally valid, locals often say that this station is the worst in Brussels hahaha However it’s not the central station, the central station is near the Mont des arts. Central station and around rue neuve are in my opinion, more likable area for a hotels and safer, if I can say. Btw I’m sure that if you have talk in German, they’ll probably look at you in a weird way ahahah

I'd say to some aspects ahhaa. Oh no, OMG. I misspoke but when I said that, I wasn't referring to your appearance but more to the political/geographical aspect of the country. German in Brussels, they probably wouldn't have understood or would have confused it with Dutch. And even then, Dutch isn't often used by the people of Brussels. Sorry again for the misunderstanding.

Yes, unfortunately it has to go in your stomach fat. It only hurts a little and what I found was, it was less about the pain and more about having to inject myself 😭😭😭

The buses are great nowadays in Paris if you don’t like the metro. The stops can be tricky to find but with the apps it’s much easier. It’s safer and you can look outside.

We are in a cold drop, the weather is exceptionally cold and rainy, I’m 50 and I have never seen that in Paris. Of course, it would be better to have a nicer weather but everywhere else in Europe, they’re just in a toaster.
Oh I agree, would much rather spring weather than hot and sweaty! I actually went end of April but I am really slow at editing because of my immunotherapy infusions, sorry for the confusion. I can’t wait to go back to Paris in winter! I think it’ll be so pretty!

Girl I had a biopsy before it is incredibly invasive but didn’t hurt until the numbness wore off but I did pass out afterwards when they were trying to get it to stop bleeding. I bled and wouldn’t stop they pressed so much that is what hurt not the needle even though I had phantom pain of the needle going in over and over at different times. You’re a very brave soul.
@@LifewithSerena0323 oh no I’m so sorry you had to have the biopsy and that it was a horrible experience. That scars you for life, mentally and physically 😢😢😢 You’re so brave for having had to go through it too. I wouldn’t wish it upon anyone.
