I loved this! It was a very nice overview of all of them. I haven't read many of their books, as my local library doesn’t get ag books often and the few they have are mainly historical, but i have read chrissa's and mia's books and liked them alot. Especially mia's as i was obsessed with ice skating as a kid, despite I've never actually skated😂 i agree that grace is exceptionally pretty and stands out, and i liked her mivie well enough, but i loved saige's movie! Saige always reminds me of felicity. (And as a side note, saige looks absolutely amazing in felicity's blue Christmas dress) i was really surprised to see kailey so high up the list though because most people either don't remember her, or dont care for her. I have loved her since i first saw her in the catalogs as a kid, she was the first non historical ag doll to grab my attention. Before her I'd only paid attention to the historicals as they were the ones that were the most interesting to me. Since kailey though I've actually looked at other dolls and find places for them with different historical characters as friends, like Kailey fits in the 70s with julie quite well, and lindsey and Lainey look great in the 50s. I would love if ag made a native american goty though. That's something they haven't done yet and the books could bring light to some of the hardships of living on a reservation, or of trying to reconnect with the past through tribal traditions. I'd love to see more native american dolls in general, modern and historical. Anyways as i said this was a really great video and it's the first one I've seen from you and i like it so I'm subscribed now!

I totally agree that every doll in the GOTY line should ideally be a realistic time capsule of her year - from the meet outfit to the hairstyle/cut to the activities in her story. I like to say with GOTYs, "if it looks dated 5 years later, it's a job well done." But also, I think it's crucial that the doll has an aspect to her story that is relatable to some kids and educational lessons to others: for example, bullying for Chrissa, racism and xenophobia for Corinne, ADHD, a stutter, hard of hearing, and dyslexia for Kavi, Gabriella, Joss, and McKenna, environmental conservation activism for Kailey and Kanani, navigating a blended family for Nikki and Corinne, going against your family expectations and working to make money to follow your dreams for Mia - the list goes on. Some of these themes are obviously more serious and heavier than others, but all of them are important issues for all kids to learn about to understand and empathize with the world around them better. I always think it's a wasted opportunity when a GOTY story lacks a unique message like this.

This was phenomenal, you really put a ton of thought in preparing for your video. I was captivated until the end. Congratulations! 🎊🎉 The only thing that came to mind for me as an interesting addition is that Kira has aunts in a lesbian relationship, which was a big first for AG. Kira’s stop motion movies do a great job of gently slipping the aunts in and showcasing how they just live an everyday life, and how Kira looks up to them. They do have a storyline for the aunts where Kira’s blood relative aunt ends up in the hospital with chest pains/heart attack and the other aunt must take over running the animal sanctuary. Kira is given additional chores, and her mom chooses to stay in Australia with Kira to help out the aunt's girlfriend (i dont think it mentions their marital status). the way its portrayed as just typical family drama and how the family pulls together to make things work, i find its so well done. i dont have Kira, but i certainly wouldn't mind picking her up at the right price! 😂

Yayyy I loved this video! Lindsey is my favourite too, I particularly love her meet outfit, it’s so cool and realistic for a kid lol. Plus, she was released the year I was born! I adore her and I definitely want her in my collection someday. I think my second favourite is kavi, because she’s so unique looking with the Marie Grace face mold! I also think Marisol is *stunning* and I’d love to have her someday too.

Thank you for showing the back of her head. I got one TLC a few years ago and I gave her hair a little love but inadvertently curled it a smidge at the ends. I was having a hard time visualizing her original hair and pics are hard to come by. This was helpful and now I can go back and get it right :)

My mom and I went there Tuesday afternoon. I love the chairs in the bistros. The cottage set they made at the entryway of the salon. But I especially love all the framed doll photographs.

Congratulations on having the whole WBU collection! They are wonderful dolls with great stories. I have Maritza and Makena and my mum has Evette. They are so special. I know everyone stresses about Evette's hair, but it's really not too difficult to manage. My mum knows nothing about doll hair care, and I've spruced up Evette's hair for her when she visits, and it springs back nicely. It can frizz, but water and finger combing takes care of it for me.

I had to send Maritza to doll hospital because black leggings stained her legs.

Like your World By Us Collection. I have the same collection too. I don’t like the negativity about Evette. EVETTE IS SO BEAUTIFUL!!!

This is not one of my grail dolls, but I'm ALWAYS happy for people to get dolls they're excited about and wow - this is probably the most pristine one I've ever seen. Her coloring is amazing. Congratulations, and thanks so much for sharing her with us! Also, YES to waiting for the right one. That's me with JLY 11 right now. I'll be patient because if I'm going to spend that money I want to looooove her. My niece is named Ximena and I used to work with a Jimena (both pronounced them the same way). I think it suits her :-)

Yeah, beast mode that box! Free the doll! I have definitely beast moded some boxes that I've had trouble opening, it can be quite satisfying. But definitely terrifying when you're trying to avoid damaging a doll and aren't sure how well protected she is in the box. That doll was DEFINITELY well protected! She's absolutely beautiful, though - what an excellent find! #15 is difficult to get at a decent price. Just adorable.

The earlier release of Lila isn't about poor Kavi-related sales. Mattel said in their shareholders' meeting that they are going to start releasing GOTYs ahead of the new year from now on to capitalize on holiday shoppers who want to give their loved ones the new Girl of the Year. Whether or not they'll stick with the plan will depend on how well it works, obviously, but it's a general business shift more than a reaction to one doll's sales. At least that's my understanding. Lovely wish list!

Sadly I usually don't wait on cheap cyo dolls because they go really fast. Also there's no way of knowing if another has been or will be made in the future.

I usually get romina dolls with no return on them because they can be pretty pricy but I have lucked out. ❤

I have a budget for 120 for a used cyo doll and that seems to work for me. I love buying second hand cyo dolls but won't pay a lot for them. ❤

I love Corinne’s meet outfit as well! I agree with you on wishing the sweater was a bit thicker. If you’re still planning on getting some of her collection I highly recommend the casual outfit - it’s really worth the price I feel. It’s a graphic print shirt, a cool purple fur jacket, a pair of leggings that’s different from the meet outfit and a pair of holo chrome boots. It suits her so well!

So... I may or may not have sought out a video looking through a catalog of this era so I could track down the name of the "Weekend Baking Outfit" 😅. I wanted that outfit SO BAD back then and never got it. I may have to find one used somewhere. Also, I had the light skin, brown hair, green eyes American Girl Today in the Go Anywhere Outfit! It was a great outfit because you could use the different pieces with pieces of other outfits. There was a lot of potential with all those pieces.
