    I’m a private type of a person and if given the chance I’d like to just have a boat built for me and not be tethered by any commitments. When companies start to impose stuff like what was stated in this video, although honorable; I feel that it just turns people off! I also believe that there are plenty of people that feel the same way but just are scared to express these feelings! Fortunately I ain’t. Thanks but no thanks…..

    Been eagerly awaiting for the release of the 65 for a while. Unfortunately at that price point for the base it’s out of reach. However if you wanted to sling me a 75, I’d happily give over 100% of its use to your science program rather than just 10% 😂

    Lazarette for keeping the toys, gear, diving equipment, etc? FPB 64 downfall was zero easily accessible aft storage space for toys. Even if you provide a tiny space it will be used. Having to get gear at the bow and drag it to the transom to be used is no bueno. Great canal boat though. 👍

    Congratulations on another superb, practical yacht in the 65, I'm still smitten with the 85, but this looks fantastic.     My answers to the doubters of Arksen vessels where I put my take on Arksen vessels. To a couple of other negative comments here: All your conclusions explained. Suitability comes to the build material as it is pure aluminum and no fearing, the unpainted is due to maintenance being so much easier and hull maintenance being of very little need. There you can high pressure wash it and that is it, no polishing etc. These vessels also have easier docking where they often are welcome to dock in more industrial parts of a harbor. For those individuals who can afford boats and buy them I would say this vessel is one of the smarter options. They use a lot less fuel due to the design thus saving both the environment and the users. if I wanted one I would use it a lot in my native country of Norway, like up to Svalbard/Spitsbergen in all seasons. Also visiting the fjords and maybe just take a trip to Island (better with the Arksen 85) About hobby you can ask yourself, if you have the means why not? Some of you have camper vans, or smaller boats and can hardly pay for them! Thus a person with wealth should be able to use it as they wishes...and here come the good thing where they are asked to offer 10% to research. Many scientists have a small budget of public funding being a few thousand of their currency, and here they are offered a sponsored trip with or without the owners where everything is covered. About filming an oil change...these vessels often come with a oil change system where absolutely nothing get spilled. Arksen is definitely not a joke, actually it represent the opposite. If I had the means I would probably buy one.

    I've been following this brand for a year now and was really excited for these explorer vessels... But every month that goes by I grow more skeptical of what they're actually doing. Their only finished products are rebranded XO boats and when they finally unveiled an Arksen 85, it looked like a retired naval vessel that did not match the quality of the renderings on their website. Why showcase such a barebones spec? And now this Arksen 65 unveiling doesn't even have a physical boat to present...just more renderings.🤔

      Careful design and engineering takes time. Have you seen the Arksen 85 walk-through? It goes into great detail about the high specification and stunning interior. We know the exterior isn't for everyone which is why we offer a painted or wrapped finish. There are now two Arksen 85s on the water and the brand-new Discovery Series will be available for sea trials in August/September.       @@arksenprojects I've seen the walkthrough. The interior was also pretty barebones compared to the lovely renderings that have been up on the site for a while. I think overall you might as well cater to premium customers. Everyone is poor now; only a small percentage of people can buy yachts. Unlike in the early 2000s which was a golden era for new entry level yacht buyers as there was a surplus of middle class boomers with enough money to get into cross ocean yachting. Now that buyer demographic doesn't exist at least in Western markets.

      Wow, to say that Arksen doesn't make stylish, quality boats is very cheeky. The exterior appearance may seem crude, but that is exactly what differentiates this boat from the others. A functional boat to go around the world but which has all the comfort of a modern yacht.

      @@davidandre8029 I never said that they don't make a stylish/functional boat, but rather that they chose to premier a barebones spec (inside and outside) after a year of hype. Even if it's just a Corolla, Toyota never puts the base model in the showroom floor. It's usually the fully loaded model. As for the quality, we won't know until there are genuine long term sea trials. All we know is that they're aluminum explorer yachts with a self righting capsizing design that has yet to be thoroughly tested and documented at least in the public eye.

Do you really think they could afford to build a showroom model to keep the RUclips fantasists happy? The one model we've seen was built the way it was because that's how the customer ordered it.

What your "curated adventures" are in reality is building and fueling an immensely wasteful vessel, traveling it as far away from human settlements as possible under the guise of exploration (as if), when it's really just a ridiculous hobby for hypocrites.       We did consider this, as they have many benefits, however didn’t want the extra drag and damage risk of external grid coolers, or the loss of volume associated with recessed or box coolers.

    two questions Jim as not that well up on this sort of yacht 1 so the stern thruster is only for the hybrid 2 what about through the hull sonar as you got a thick ally hull

      Thank you for the questions. 1. Stern thruster can be fitted to any Arksen 85, not just the hybrid. 2. Through hull sonar - It’s a good question - currently we use conventional in-water transducers. There are in-hull transducers available, designed for aluminium hulls, however these are intended for thinner plating, so they are unlikely to be suitable for our boats. (We fit all transducers in water-tight cofferdams, for safety).

      The vessel has a series hybrid propulsion system, with a high voltage DC bus at its core.

      Yes a hull vane was a consideration, however after an extensive review of various options, it was decided that interceptors were the more appropriate option for our design.

    Everything except that lounge/bed is awesome, I would do away with that lounge and have a permanent bed set up with storage underneath the bed for linen and whatever, making the bed every day would be a pain in the ass, love the whole truck and set up other than that but that is easily sorted, great video mate

    Love the Arksen brand. Now having watch this and other walkthrough of the product, I feel I have a greater understanding of Arksen philosophise. One question that I think a lot of people would ask is, "What is the delivery time from first contact to stepping onboard ready to leave port for the owner"?. Thanks again for the great insight into these wonderful explorer yachts.

      Thank you for your question. Build time for the Arksen 85 is 24 months and for the 65 it is 18 months. The time from first contact to stepping onboard depends on the individual owner and any customisations they would like to make ahead of the build start.

      It fully depends on the owner-operator's preference. From a boat-handling perspective - absolutely. Then if the owner is someone who enjoys maintaining the vessel there would be nothing stopping you. Generally, people would choose to have at least one crew member on the vessel, whether they are full-time or part-time, to help maintain the boat in the long term. However, if you had a family onboard who are all keen to muck in and get involved and be part of the process then it can certainly be a full owner/operator's vessel. The layout options onboard can certainly flex to allow the ability to scale up or down the crew depending on the needs throughout the year.

    As a fire protection engineer .... there is no effective fire extinguishing system for lithium batteries. A lithium fire is self sustaining. If the batteries burn ... there is only ONE thing to do ... RUN !
