I haven't done it, but in theory, you could have an email automatically be generated. I think that if you are notifying all users, you may want to change this to being a button instead of an "on edit" function so that you could move several items at once to completed and send one email informing all users which items have been completed so as not to spam everyone. You could store everyone's emails in a column in a separate tab so the algorithm would grab those emails when sending an email.

@@ParkerLearnsStuff if they put an email address in the response instead of the phone number (which I use also) could a code be created that way. I would guess the code would almost be the same but with a automated email. to give you a little more detail, I run an inhouse automotive shop so instead of calling an employee once i marked it completed that driver knows they can come pick up vehicle instead of me having to call each time. Love your work

@@ParkerLearnsStuff sorry didnt see this i responed on the video. Thanks for doing it my only issue is now once i changed to a checkbox, it doesnt move to the completed tab. i get a message saying Exception: The coordinates of the target range are outside the dimensions of the sheet.

@JakeMueller-s6r code is case sensitive so if your sheet isn't capital "Completed "it won't work. I'll try and update the script so that if there isn't a sheet named completed it will make one. Also, when you add the code to the app script, you will need to save and run it at least once so that all permissions can be granted.

@user-ri4fw8cd5i that I don't know. The idea is to redirect the attachment to open in your browser. For me, this uses Google Chrome. Let me know if it does work.

The default coding is Column A. This would be referenced as follows: if (sheet.getName() == "Tasks" && editedCell.getColumn() == 1 && e.value.toLowerCase() == "completed") you will want to change the 1 to 8 to reference the numerical order of the alphabet so that 8 = I. I hope that helps.

You would have to repeat this process for each tab. This can become quite time consuming. This is why I created an app script that you just have to copy and past and instantly your entire sheet is searchable. You can find my video here: ruclips.net/video/HUnFkZPB2iQ/видео.html

As you are filling in the requirements for the filter function, you have to designate the data range. You can accomplish this by manually entering or highlighting. In this case, I clicked the other sheet, and the while holding down the control or command key selected the entire rows I wanted to highlight. This updates the data range. Hope that helps.

Likely not searching the correct word. If you for example have one column for first name, another column for last name, you can only look up via first or last not both. I haven't actually tested it yet with appsheet. I was thinking of using this with Glide or Adalo in a future video. I'll play around with it in Appsheet and see if I can post a tutorial in a future video. Also, I think my bulk editing items are all completed by using the menu instead of an "on edit" function which might be the problem.

I went ahead and created an appsheet. The error I kept getting is that there is already a "key" with in progress. I unchecked "key" in the status part of the data section and then saved the project and now I can create multiple tasks as in progress. A secondary issue that is created tho, in the spreadsheet, the items won't automatically update and be transferred to the correct inbox. You would have to move them via the menu.
