SUP Foiling heaven in the UK
Back out at “Sleepers” in the North East of England on the Faux drive. This might just be the most fun sup foiling wave I have found so far in the North East of England.

Super long SUP foil wave rides- Faux Drive
Просмотров 67311 месяцев назад
am so happy right now. I have been talking about the outer reef beyond Secrets at Whitley Bay for a few years now. I have walked past it countless times wondering what it would be like. Super fickle, variable depths and very rocky! It is a long way out so nearly always blown out. Today was the day! To top it off, my son came and filmed a few. This was only possible as a result of the early glid...
DIY Foil Drive Assist and Downwind SUP Foil Board
Просмотров 5 тыс.Год назад
This is a project I have been working on for the last 6 months. I initially wanted to build a DIY foil assist to help me get onto waves earlier with my SUP foil board. After a few tweaks, a lot of help from people on the foil.zone forum and a lot of 3D printing, I had a working prototype. I then began to see the new down wind sup foil boards hitting the market. I thought that this sleek shape w...
Wing Foiling Fuerteventura

This is a video of my second trip to the wonderful Corralejo in Fuerteventura. This time we went in August for 10 days. Primarily a family holiday but I did get to wing quite a bit locally. The wind was super consistent for the first 7 days with 5-6m winds every day. Waves were not as big compared to my first trip in Easter but there were still some bumps to play around in. I also hired a car a...
Wing Foiling Fuerteventura - Corralejo

I went to Corralejo in Fuerterventura over Easter with the family and had a brilliant holiday. It was perfect for the whole family. It was windy 6 days out of 7 with the 5m Takoon wing being used almost every time. I took an inflatable Fantatic Sky Wing air board which made travelling very easy. Corralejo has flat water where you launch and then some lovely reefs further out that kept me entert...
Axis Art 999 in storm conditions - 3m takoon wing

Today was a day of firsts. This is just a short clip of me out in the strongest winds I have ever winged in (gusting over 40 mph). First time on a 3m wing which I bought over a year ago but never had the conditions to try it. Today I was thinking I needed a 2m, I was really overpowered on the 3m. It was also my first go with the Axis Art 999. That is one very fast wing with loads of lift. I'm l...
Takoon & Axis - Big Wing (7m) foiling in small waves with the Axis 1150
Просмотров 1,8 тыс.3 года назад
In this session I scored a nice small south easterly wind swell at my local beach. The wind was around 12-17 knots which for me meant I needed the 7m Takoon wing and the Axis 1150 to have enough power in the lumpy conditions. I continue to be impressed with how well such a big wind wing works. It stays in the neutral position very well and drifts down the line brilliantly for the size and the w...
Wing foiling waves with a 7m wing

Sunshine, wind and waves! Nearly perfect. The wind was forecast to be 20-25 knots but it never came through. Instead we had around 15 knots. The 7m wing did a great job of drifting down the line while I flew on the swell with the axis 1150 foil. This is just a quick edit. I will put something together over the next week or so.
Wing surf - Wind Wing in the Waves - Takoon 7m, Axis 1150

I had so much fun the other night. The wind was light (around 15 knots) so it was a session with the 7m Takoon wing and the Axis 1150 foil with 420 rear and 90cm mast. There was some really nice, wing friendly waves coming in. Nothing big but perfect for me and to top it off, the sun was shining! I have since built a few different versions. All still with the 6384 120kv motor. To Efoil I use a higher voltage battery. A 10s2p or 12s2p is enough to use mine like the gen2 foil drive product on a prone board.

I want to fit a PVC twin hydrofoil box on my board , therefore my question is: did the box work and not break off? and are the plastic inserts strong enough for the hydrofoil attachment? Great stuff James, Fuerte is high on my list of places to try for winging. Been many times before I began on the wing, usually stay in Caleta de Fuste. Do you mind me asking were there may other wingers in Corralejo? Where in the town did you launch from? Could you make it over to the island? And did you bring your own gear or hire locally, I'm thinking that's an inflatable board with a High Aspect wing. What do you take in your backpack? So many questions, sorry..... • @jamesdixon2219
      @jamesdixon2219 Год назад

      It is a great place for winging. There were quite a few wingers out in Correlejo itself. If it was windy enough, people were out. I did hire a car on the second trip and explored a bit and found some other superb spots. Generally, very few out at other spots though. This is just because it is so convenient in town. Sometimes I used the concrete slip by Waikiki bar. Other times I just looked for short walks over the reef and just walked the gear out and then paddled a bit until I was deep enough. People did wing over to lobos. There are some amazing waves over there. It is a long way though and you would want company or a back up plan. I brought my own gear. I have an inflatable foil board just for holidays that works surprisingly well. I then took a 6m,5m and 4m wing. The foil I used the most was the ART 999. Back pack is just the way the 360 camera is mounted. I just took some water with me. I needed sun cream on the whole time. The temperature is great but the sun is strong. Get yourself back there 👍

    Great vid. Thanks for sharing. I went last year and couldn't figure out where to launch for the Bay area. I guess you have to park some way away and walk your kit in? Had a fantastic session at Flag beach but one of the days it was too light at Flag but the bay seemed to have wind and people flying around. Did you launch at the Wakiki?

      Yes , just launched using the slip at Waikiki. Deep enough at all tides once you walk out a bit. It is a great spot 😀

    Nice. How do you like the Fanatic Sky Air? I have the 5ft 4in version. Love it. Curious about the 5ft 0in version but not sure if it is shipping yet.

      This was the 5ft 4”. I bought it just for travel and I am really impressed with how it handled everything.

    Thanks for posting, looks like a great family trip. Love Fuerte but haven't been in two yrs. Next time I'll be winging it I hope. You seem to be getting savage speed, well done. Makes me hopeful for a good, windy Summer🤞

    Very, very nice edit, what foil are you on AXIS ART?

      Thanks Dan. Been a while since I have posted a video but really glad I took the camera on holiday. This was the axis 980. This is my favourite foil at the moment. I do have a 999 but find it hard to not go out on the 980.

      I’m back in the summer and hired an f one CWC 7m from you for a couple of days this time around. It looked almost new and was a very easy process. I’ll be back to your store in the summer 👍

    Spring is here make more vids . I ordered a gong foil (should be here in a couple of days) and in the process of making a board for dock starts it’s going to be a steep learning curve.

      I do need to put more videos together. I have been so busy lately that I just have time to get on the water but no time to edit footage. Hopefully that will change soon. Good luck with your foiling journey. It is so much fun. Just stick at it and you will be rewarded 👍

      This is a 4x3. Not too bad in the peak of summer in the North Sea.

    How much wind do you need for the 3m to work?

    • @jamesdixon2219
      @jamesdixon2219 2 года назад

      This was the first time I had used the 3m despite owning it for for a year. I imagine I would need at least 25 knots at my weight (90kg) and skill.
