What a day this was. It felt like a real adventure. And in editing this, I've decided to go South. Forcella Lavardette is well worth the visit, and in this video I will show you how to find it, and what to expect when you arrive.

    I totally relate to this video..after the Covid I started riding solo and had a couple of holidays on my own. It's not always joy and sunshine, you could find really bad weather, you can have mechanical issues and everyday is different...Wednesday you feel like a lion and on Thursday you feel a bit sick,maybe you haven't slept well and a wonderful ride turns to a slow fatiguing trip with lots of yawns. And even though I thought I had a solid plan it always turned a bit into shit, lol 😁 Not knowing where to sleep is a bit stressful too, I agree. You could find a beautiful road to ride but hey, it's 7pm and you don't even know wether you'll be able to find a roof for tonight. Not the best sensation in the world. Nice vlogging Jacob, you are doing a really great vacation....but I would't venture on dirt roads alone with that bike/tyres for all the money in the world 😇😄

    If this is your first bike trip abroad it’s great to take your time and use it like a recon mission to see where you like and where you want to return to and spend more time in a specific location or area. There’s so much to see in Europe it’s hard to even get a glimpse of it, especially whilst also thinking about recording it and producing the footage into a video. Enjoy and savour the experience before thinking ahead to what’s next. Plenty of motorcycle vloggers record trips and edit the footage once back home, releasing it as episodes whilst they are planning or even starting their next adventure.

    • @Papanchasonline
      @Papanchasonline 3 дня назад

      Oh for sure man. The plans have chopped and changed a plenty this week… heading somewhere very special. This is the thing with solo and having time, there are endless possibility’s. Updates to come. And the vlogging, totally. For me, I do an edit every few days, and yes they could be higher end and perfect but I also love the on the go approach, it allows me to remember the day far better, to cut with how it felt… and not worry too much about perfection. At home I can often over analyse it and not actually end up finishing it, so it’s better to say yeah, rough cut, great, and what a way to be learning. The page is new too, it’s just been good to get some content up without overthinking it, just doing the vlog itself was a big step to overcome for me! Thanks bro, can’t be long before you leave?!

    hi dude, really enjoying this video series. I have done maybe a couple of dozen european tours. the first four or so with a riding buddy, the rest solo, which is now by far my preferred option. your videos are really capturing that wide eyed wonder of doing a motorbike tour for the first time. you're doing great and learning what you like and don't like quickly, so with the caveat that all these things are subjective, these are the main things that I ended up with re approach to touring. early on I did way too much saddle time per day and not enough days off and would get cumulative fatigue that risked spoiling the trip, so now the general rule is approx 3hrs actual riding/saddle time per day, obvs not including stops. get to destination early and enjoy the evening. max 4 consecutive days before taking a day completely off the bike to relex and rest. this way I can pretty much tour indifinitely and remain fresh and alert and thoroughly enjoying it. never tour europe in july and august. may june september october are superb and massive difference in prices, traffic, tourists. also those extreme temps in south are much milder. personally I prefer to have booked accomodation before I set off every morning, that way I find i can relax and enjoy the day more knowing where I'll be that night. trying to find accomodation late in the day when fatigue is setting in just stressed me out. onwards!

There are a shed load of big mountains between the Stelvio Pass and the Dolomites. After the smorgesboard of the Dolomites if you are riding south towards Venice via Trevisio you have to ride the Passo San Boldo. Stick it in Google Maps and take a look. It is awesome. The SP635. Great video, I really like the vibe. I'm a bit late to the party obviously but I used the Archies camping app when I was over doing what you are doing. Nine times out of ten it would work. It throws up the occasional false lead for a campsite but we found some real gems of places through it. Also, I too am a major over-packer of a bike. I now have a list of things I took but never needed. Next time I will be going a lot lighter. Looking forward to the rest of the videos. edited to add: As Spike Milligan once said, 'If you don't have a plan, it can't go wrong.'

    The Stelvio is very famous pass that is been used in 'giro de Italia' cycling tour, also there is Moto Guzzi Stelvio 1200 and 1000 models and few bicycles with that name too.. And an Alpha Romeo car model with the Stelvio name too... It's used for all sort of racing on two and four wheels.

    Your videos are great. We are lucky to be able to enjoy your journey with you. Thanks for making and sharing your videos. The Passo di Tremelo is a bone shaker cycling on a road bike. I rode it many years ago. I suppose you could really cut down on your luggage by not camping or cooking staying in accommodation each night and eating in restaurants, etc., but this would completely change your tour and be a lot more expensive. You are doing great. Yes things have a habit of turning out for the better if you trust your instincts providing they are good of course. ATB.

    I've being touring on a motorbike (Triumph's) for 20 years or so. Always learn a few phases and write them down in my wee book. I particularly love Switzerland! I'm ok with French, can just about get by with German and can talk with my hands in Italian as good as anyone. Great work! You have reminded me that I must get back into Switzerland sometime soon!
