On November 10th, 2024, performed live from the heart of St. Petersburg, Russia. The excellent pianist Nickolay Vasilyev played ''Andante Amoroso" by Marius Herea. This is one of the most beautiful nocturnes ever written. The great pianist Nickolay Vasilyev played with feeling, balancing the ravishing arpeggios with so much controlled emotion of the superb melodic line. Thank you !

Symphony of Renaissance was composed by Marius Herea in his twenties. This is a very unique symphony after Mozart’s final Trilogy and Brahms‘ Tetralogy. As the composer said in an interview; “I understood to let modernism follow the classical rigor and not the other way around” (Marius Herea)

Sophie Huang, a highly talented pianist, along with the legendary Maestro Ovidiu Balan, gave life to the Piano Concerto in E minor by Marius Herea. It is the most significant transcendental Piano Concerto, continuing those of Chopin and Brahms with some fragrance of Debussy. As Composer Marius Herea said : “I understood to let modernism follow the classical rigor and not the other way around” (Marius Herea)

Is this Chopin's third or Brahms' third?! Ah, it's neither! This music goes beyond the 20th century. It's Herea's Piano Concerto in E minor. A masterpiece of rare beauty !!! This contemporary composer has been established as a giant whose music is proud to have the same Olympian ranking as Chopin and Brahms.

Marius Herea's composition of "High Altitude" is performed by Anna Semenenko at a "high altitude", both artistically and physically: a treat for the eyes and ears, a unique and timeless combination of sounds and visuals, a short movie full of symbolism. The exceptionally gifted violinist delivered a breathtaking performance of "Meditation," one of the most harmonically advanced, borderline atonal, aesthetically perfect 21th Century music pieces. This is a live recording of one of the memorable arias from "Casanova Opera” by Marius Herea, arranged for violin and piano. The music exemplifies timeless beauty via a memorable melody. The amazing violinist, Anna Semenenko has the rare ability to express the meaning of the melodic line, as much as voice and words together. Gracefully, discreetly accompanied by the wonderful pianist Tatyana Kirilovich. A real treat!

“Cantilena” is the String Version (Sextet) of the Piano Prelude in A flat Major. Recordings of this timeless melody were done years ago by Elena Selezneva, Lorena Eckell, and other outstanding pianists. Maestro Herea used this musical idea in his "Casanova Opera”. Soprano Irina Iordachescu performed Opera Sketches, including this Aria, with Ploiesti Philharmonic Orchestra, Conductor Maestro Ovidiu Balan. To me, "Cantilena" is like an incandescent light; One deep breath of contentment. A short piece that reminds me of Prelude op.28, No.7, in A Major, by Chopin. Tempo “Largo Sostenuto” gives intensity to this passionate message. In this case, the first motif is repeated. The beautiful melodic line has different levels of slow-motion ornaments and dynamic response, with an exciting ending chord. The high professionalism of The Vladivostok Chamber Orchestra, with their super talented musicians made the performance breathtaking.

“The Celestial Poem” String Sextet is a work of high and lasting artistic value. It emerges from the monumental Symphony No. 2, which shares the same name, by Marius Herea. Like a lagoon near the ocean, this chamber music is concise, with only a handful of instruments. The six incredibly talented musicians from the Vladivostok Symphony Orchestra, Anna Semenenko, Julia Gugushvili, Evgenia Merenkova, Olga Dementieva, Grigory Zaitsev, and Elena Smirnykh, have performed this spiritual journey with warmth, reverence, and beauty. Like a Bach “Choral.” A prayer. The travels of the eternal soul. This mini version of a gigantic symphony that symbolically expresses the human pain of not being capable of comprehending the colossal universe we are a part of. Several of Maestro Herea’s themes are present here, so unique and inspiring. With a dialog of counterpoints and the solemness of his ascending chords, the music flows through an emotionally charged tremolo, climaxing into a metamorphosis of joy and beauty.

This is a second recording of fragments from the Opera "Casanova" by composer Marius Herea. We are witnessing history in the making, as the public is listening again to adaptations made by the maestro for four strings instruments. Naturally, a voice quartet may sound impressive, but strings are nonvocal instruments that sound close to the human voice, and they sound superb. One of the main characteristics of the Herean Style is the conciseness of its music, that's why arias or duets, trios, quartets, or choir could be represented by only a few instruments, as samples from a monumental complex form of art, The Opera. The purity of this music, highly melodic, original, and authentic, like Mozart's music over two hundred years ago (enriched by the legacy of other great romantics, like Wagner) made it possible for the composer to write samples for a string quartet. Violinist Anna Semenenko, the Concertmaster of Primorsky Symphony Orchestra, along with the other super talented distinguished members of Vladivostok Quartet, have played with brilliance and enthusiasm. Musicians can only exclaim: "This music is divine."

We see this Nocturne-Romance for piano, Adagio Amoroso as one of the most beautiful piano nocturnes ever written. The delicate tones played with velvet touch by Dianna Vasiu, one of the top Romanian pianists, demonstrate not only her impressive skills but her wonderful interpretation of the piece. Pianists like Rina Sudo (Japan), Sophie Huang (Austria), Ivajla Kirova (Germany), Elena Selezneva (Russia), Inga Rudnicenko (Ukraine), have played and recorded this piece so beautifully, yet differently, because in the Adagio Amoroso, feelings are profonde and genuine, leaving so much room for creativity to the pianists. The slow movement of the floating melodic lines is contrasting with the arpeggio’s turmoil that expresses an interiorized feeling of unrequited love. The sense of euphoria is capturing the imagination like we are listening to a full orchestra, in a magic spell. The memorable melody, the richness of harmonies and beauty of content make it possible to have this original piano composition to be adapted for cello-piano, flute-piano, violin-piano. Only people fond of Chopin, Debussy, Scriabin can appreciate the value of this masterpiece, which speaks in the language of the 21st century. Again, the pianist Dianna Vasiu played superbly her own interpretation of Andante Amoroso.

In 2020, the amazing pianist Dianna Vasiu recorded the Original Piano Solo Sonata , named “Sonatique”. Three monts ago, the composer Marius Herea made an adaptation for violin and piano, colled “Sonatique Apex”. This was recorded in the studio by both Dianna Vasiu and the violinist Anna Semenenko. This time, early October 2022, in the same Recital where more than twenty pieces have been performed by the very highly talented Anna Semenenko and Tatyana Kirilovich, including several of Marius’ pieces, “Sonatique Apex” has been for the first time played in public. It was a world premiere in live public concert. It was fascinating. So much fire and passion! Beautiful conversation between instruments. Marius himself said of Sonatique : “the violin and the piano are two restless beings, where each one has his /her own inner struggle. By synchronizing, the inner struggle disappears.” Beethoven said about live performing: “To play a wrong note is insignificant, To play without passion is inexcusable.”
