so it’s a thing for this type of bird to love this song? we had one singing it for 33 years

It's one of those songs that I'd consider "Yupneck", it has that weird hybrid of a typical '80s MTV production with some of that produced sound/vocals, yet resonated well with the suburban/rural audiences. It's sounds like a song from the mid-60s with some more modern (for the time) production thrown in.
