What really hurt the LFA was Nissan, they killed the LFA. They (Nissan) released a more powerful, efficient, driver focused, samurai of a car, the GTR (R35) for a 5th of the price…

The main thing that keeps me from watching modern NASCAR is the format: ridiculously convoluted points system, stages, "competition cautions" (what an absolutely moronic idea), and "playoffs."

Earnhardt wouldn't have died had he worn the HANS device. I'm all for making cars safer, but he's a prime example of how sometimes (quite often, actually) you have to force drivers to use the available safety equipment rather than leaving the decision up to them. In F1 in the 60's, it was common for drivers not to wear their seatbelts because they preferred being ejected from the car over being stuck in the cockpit and burned alive.

Slow speeds, many attemps to have no flips, less cautions... Less fans

NASCAR did everything right well in trying to kill itself. Leaving historic and great tracks, going to terrible new cars, the chase than the playoffs, stage racing, rigging races, going to awful tracks, terrible video games and toys which is important for kids. And yet NASCAR just says if you don't like it leave and well fans, drivers, and owner have been leaving NASCAR like its the black plague it's not even funny anymore. Oh and NASCAR banned a certain flag which many fans supported still (I don't I'm just stating facts tho) and they left. NASCAR has the chance to become big yet they fine drivers speaking out and trying to be different and are more focused on entertainment than anything else like really are you serious. Oh and by the way this most recent NASCAR championship would have had 5 drivers racing for the championship yet and 4 and only 2 are in the top 4 in points while the 1st in points and 2nd in points are in the conversation to be champion which makes no sense

You forgot about the championship issue. NASCAR’s decline started with the change in the points system and championship race. Every time they make another change their ratings drop even further. The whole venture has become napscar.
