In my case, it hit after age 40, and it took me many years, and many tears in order to heal myself. If you would like more info on the program I used to ...

Hiking with bear cans-what you need to know
Knowing Stampy was about as old as I am now when I watched his videos is quite mind boggling
I admire your commitment! Congratulations on your hard work!
Been there! You got this the fun part is really the photos 😂❤❤❤
Then over 70% of women have too much preoccupation with attention seeking behaviour. I waited for the day I turned 50 to get this invisibillity thing. It never happened, I am treated the same as I ever was. Maybe I just never cared about the attention of others very much to begin with?
Yes, love the chapters idea! This is gold. Push to the end!
I freaking love you, girl!
Im a size 8 now from 12! Feels so good to make progress. Congrats get it!
Wow! That is so awesome! I love when I feel good, and even though this is hard, it does feel good!
I love “walkin’” with you in these Shorts. 😊 Congrats on your hard work and RESULTS!
It's great to have you join me!
Woo! The numbers don't lie! So awesome.
I have a ways to go, but it feels good to feel good!
Hello my friend. You and I are on the same journey. I put on ten pounds over the holidays and I am steadily taking it off. I keep "underweight" so that I keep my bp normal (at my age most are taking bp meds, so far I don't and want to keep it that way!). So Thank you for all your inspirational videos. Will share out.
You are such an inspriation, girl! I am so thankful for you!
SOO brave, thank you so much for this I really thought I was the only over 50 with this monkey on my back too Def going to try your suggestions - thanks again ❤
You definately are NOT. So many of us just are embarrassed to say we are still struggling, and I understand so well the struggle. If you need anything, please reach out, I have resources about the place I went if you want them :)
Well, you're talking to someone who ate most of a bag of Cheetos "Natural" (lol) cheese doodles last night for dinner, and a pint of Haagen Daz chocolate and peanut butter ice cream for dessert. I call it my "weekly splurge night," which comes directly out of teenage eating disorders, which comes directly out of my parents' suggestions beginning at age 9 that I might be a little "chunky." Ah, the 80s. Thanks, Julie! Glad to know you're out there.
Yeah. I was fat from birth, and my mother always told me I was too fat. I always tried to squeeze into my sisters jeans, and she would get so mad! She was 5 years older than me...LOL
I'm in!! I love what you said about feeling like a teenager in your 50s. I'm 57, and I feel so many changes! I also have a laser focus on my mortality, and want to make changes so that I don't waste the years I have left. I love your channel, and wish we could hang out. 😊
Lets do it! We can do a zoom, and help each other!
I'd love to work on this with you! My beautiful 72 Winnebago Brave is the sort of most of my $6k cc debt, so when I sell that guy in the spring, I'll probably pay that off. But I have new-business expenses and need a new BUDGET, yes. So there with you and thanks for the encouragement!
Yass! Lets zoom!
Thank you for another wonderful video my friend. Happy New Year!
Love you! Happy New Year!
As a yoga instructor, this reminds me of when people tell me they can't do yoga because they're not flexible. I usually say something like, "Well, when you needed a driver's license, did you say you couldn't because you don't know how to drive?!"
Right! I think its fear of failure and not being perfect at something, which is always scary!
If you feel invisible, look outward, not inward. There are opportunities to serve others everywhere, but we have trained ourselves not to see them. If your children and grandchildren live away, find a young family who could use a bit of help. The first step of getting out of your comfort zone is the hardest, but the dividends are there if you do it.
@@shirleyleger9620 love this!
ooo! OO! Pick me! I have similar goals. And I dig how honest you are about your financials. I don't know how everyone got so scared to talk about money, like it's not polite or secret or something. Practical, open discussions of money are enlightening and empowering. We all think we're suffering alone, but we're not!
"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." --Thomas Alva Edison. Just so you know the caliber of person who thinks this way! You're in brilliant company. :)
I freaking love you, and we are both in amazing company! I am so lucky we found each other-you are the best, girl!
thank you, you right❤
You're so welcome! We're all in this together.
Find a partner, build a relationship...
Not certain how this would help? I am not talking about having to have a partner, I am talking about how not to feel invisible after a certain age.
0:22 "So I went to the Google..." .... The Google? Geeze... Only somebody really old would say that. 😅🤣😂
We diminish ourselves. Care about and for young people who are struggling as well as those older than you. Connect with life. This is actually depression. Many religious leaders werent recognized until late in life. Stay hopeful. God will see you through.
Question... you feel invisible by WHO ? I suspect its men you find attractive. How do you think the ones you don't find attractive feel ??? AND... ARE you truly invisible to ALL men, or do you just "feel" invisible ? Remember... "feelings" are in the mind and may not be facts.
@@larryag99 no. Not men, others in general. I'm not looking to get attention from men. I'm looking to get acknowledgement as a human. This is not "feeling". It's our society in general in America as we age. Both men and women feel this way
@@notdeadyet01 well, you could be the unicorn of women, that's a possibility, but for most women it's not. Just look at the cosmetic industry, and the cosmetic surgery industry... both are booming. Most women are, I think, too embarrassed to say they chase youth in hopes of getting attention from men, by saying they do it for themselves. Well, in a way they really do "do it for themselves"... because they like, and crave, the attention from men. Many women go to great lengths to impress men. Its a shame more women don't realize that most men don't like industrial strength make up and fake body parts... they just want a women that is real, and helps make their life more peaceful. Attractiveness may get men's attention, but it will not hold it. They simply need to be attractive on the inside, and that holds a mans attention.
I kind of like being 'invisable'. It's peaceful and less stressful. I live in a very small community so actually it's a bit tough to go unnoticed. Everyone counts!
@@cristallaprade5487 it can be peaceful- the only time I don't like it is when I'm not helped at a grocery store or I'm dismissed at a drs appt. Stuff like that.
@notdeadyet01 Don't put that on yourself. That's a training issue the shop needs to address. It could happen to anybody.
I definitely feel invisible, but it's mostly me shutting out people. I'm not feeling worthy, i guess.
I do understand that. Its hard to interact when you are feeling that way; however, what I find when I feel worthless or insecure or just want to hide away is pretty much boiled down to plain ol' loneliness. But, forgetting you "feel" like your not worthy and doing some weird thing like helping a stranger in a store find an item, or making eye contact with someone, or (god forbid) calling up an old friend does ease that. I am so grateful you are a part of this community. We are here to lift you up!
I'm a 70-year-old white man, so I'm colorless and invisible. You look wonderful, plus God loves you!
You are definately not invisible! Thank you for being here, I see you!
Thank you. So true & yes ive been working on things this past year. Its a learning experience as i go along & im content. Im 58 & i welcome being my best version of myself & pick & choose where my energy goes. I do both time alone and time with people i enjoy. I dont pressure myself anymore. I am my own decisions. Yes, yes.
Isnt it great getting older? I feel like we give ourselves permission to be us without any worry of what others feel about us. I LOVE that part, and love that you are picking and choosing where your energy goes-that is so lifechangeing!
I want to be invisible
@@lewisvogel466 how come?
@notdeadyet01 For peace and quiet and privacy. Too many people know who I am.
I am now 69. Didn't really notice the invisibility thing until about 10 years ago. I love it! Such a relief to not be bothered by unwanted attention.
Yes, sometimes the unwanted attention is annoying! I am mostly an introvert, and when I was younger I was so stressed out feeling judged about EVERYTHING. Now, that part is not really a thing; although, I dont like being dismissed. Thats the one thing I dont like about being invisible.
@notdeadyet01 I agree! For most of my life, I have been dismissed as a "dumb blonde." I always had to work extra hard to be heard and prove my worth at work. Now that most of my blonde has turned white, it's amazing how much wisdom I apparently have acquired! Lol
Its not a course to be invisible to people that do not matter! Be unapologetically you!
I love it! Thank you!
I remember when I started to feel invisible, it was strange. Now at 68 I LOVE it. I can do whatever I want and no one beyond my kids and BF care.
I find it funny that I can go out any which way now-hair disgusting, golashes on, PJs in the store, and no one cares. It IS pretty freeing!
Busyness does not equal efficiency. I love that.
I became disabled in 50s and was so unstable on feet a grocery clerk demanded I use mobility cart. Rolling Klingon cloaking device. Most days have to use scooter due to crushing weakness, when I stand even for a few minutes people start talking to me. You are right about the walking, miss those long walks in the park. Am less invisible with this dog who growls and barks at anyone within 50 ft.not that is how I prefer being noticed
I am sorry that the scooter makes you feel invisible. It truly is so difficult; although, some days it is nice to be invisible. Some days, not all days! I have the same thing with my dog...ugh, she is difficult! LOL
It’s a big adjustment becoming an older adult, who is in a different category to a younger adult, it’s a different stage of life where our physical appearance takes a back seat and our life experience and learned wisdom comes to the fore, that’s if we’ve actually gained wisdom! Our personality will be more obviously as we get older and we are much more comfortable in our skin, that’s the plus side. Pretty soon we stop worrying about being invisible and are just glad to be here 😃
@@Hildred6 I love this! It's true. I know lots of us gen xs and baby boomers just feel disheartened over where they are in life or what's happening to their body or even their job. I think changing that mindset to "I'm here, I have some learned experience and I am valuable" can be the most transformational thing we can do for ourselves! I love your take, I'm sooo glad you are here!!!
Thanks for this. 56, invisible and tired.
@@MsGinahidesout girl, I hear you! Meee too, but, still having hopes and dreams, finding joy in the little things does help my mental outlook when I feel down. It's a true life change after 50, and we have lots of opportunities to make our voices be heard! I'm so so glad you are part of our community!!
@notdeadyet01 thank you so much 💓 💖

Great video Julie! Thank you. I realize many feel this way. I have heard so many feel that way. And yet, I have never felt that way. And I am almost 70! I think many feel invisible at all ages. Love the video. Merry Christmas!
Thank you so much, DIanna! That means alot to me coming from you! Merry Christmas, lovely lady!
@@notdeadyet01 Julie, I see your channel growing enormously. Keep up the great work!
It's so true! To combat it, I wear odd clothes and hats and say hello to everyone in an exuberant way. 😜
HAHA! We are way too alike! This is the same for me, except I wear pajamas and wave to everyone!
Love that!
Um I can't help notice the art ❤ but damn this video is spot on!!!
That artist is one of my FAVORITE artists! She is pretty freaking cool...do you know her?? LOL

Yay! I am glad you thought it was fun!
My side hustle enabled very early retirement. Do it now!
That is what I am hoping to do as well over time. I am saving slowly, sometimes it feels like I am wading through mud! haha
Great video and solid advice. Us people "of a certain age" know this stuff but sometimes we need someone like yourself to concisely remind ourselves. You rock!
Aww, you made my day! Sometimes it does get frustrating, but I think looking ahead instead of feeling sad or angry about your situation can make you feel much better about your life. I can do this like 55% of the time!
@@notdeadyet01 Absolutely. Like you say" Not Dead Yet". As long as we draw breath, we can move forward. One foot in front of the other ☮
