ROCK HISTORY UNCOVERED! 🎸 On the release of their "Decade Of Decadence" retrospective CD back in November 14th, 1991 I got a call (as Ian Richards) on CK105, Flint, Michigan from Mötley Crüe bass player Nikki Sixx for a fun and informal chat! What a neat guy he is too. I have been searching for this rare archive for decades, and today I finally found it, so here's the full interview. Damn this ...

The first part of Skynrd's Free Bird is about as boring as watching flies fucking, but the twin lead guitar breakout is astonishing, especially when played like this! 🎸🎸

THE MUSICAL BOX - Seven Stones
Просмотров 2185 лет назад
Another sensational recreation of early classic Genesis by tribute band The Musical Box live in Pasadena on Saturday April 13th. Here's part two of "Seven Stones" from the album Nursey Cryme, certainly one of my all time favorite Genesis songs. Check out the beautifully haunting Mellotron strings climax which concludes this magnificent performance.

Genuine and loyal early classic Genesis fans will flip out over this video and audio! I definitely did, and I was at the live concert in Burbank California on Saturday night, April 13th. This is the highly acclaimed Genesis tribute band The Musical Box recreating a sequence from The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway show and album, the hauntingly beautiful "Hairless Heart" followed by the humorous "Co...

I m a bit gutted Amy Winehouse never rode a bike.
Joe Biden s theme song
Gerry had a really bad stroke in 2016. Paralysed quite badly actually. God help him.
Saw him years ago with The Backroom Boys, playing, of all things, a pub in Coventry. They were superb, but the biggest cheer of the night? When Gerry fluffed a note in The Claw! Even he thought the bathos funny. Legend.
Wow how does he look like John so much 😮
Man he looks like john and sounds like him
Ringo looks like he gained some weight
"to bend three takes years of practice" greatest understatement you will hear today. Few in the world will ever be able to do that
Does anyone remember is Allan Holdsworth was also in this doc? I feel Like I remember that as a kid. Is the full doc anywhere?
No I don't think he was, there was Andy Summers from The Police, Francis Dunnery from It Bites, another guy called Jerry ?? who had inspired Jerry Donahue, and some young coloured kid in his flat who played Shadows tunes. I had it on a VHS tape for years, I used to watch it often back then, especially the JD parts.
Heres Francis Dunnery from the same doc... ruclips.net/video/wI5QCem2fx4/видео.html
@@Coppertunes Thanks for the reply! My brain must be mashing up two separate documentaries. I remember a similar sort of video, but with someone doing two different bends in opposite directions on the fretboard, while playing other stuff. And my brain remembers it as Holdsworth. But that could entirely be a false memory, as it's very similar to this. But not exact in my head.
Looks like John. Does not move like him at all. And putting the tone aside, the word emphasis and phrasing is very wrong. The looks are impressive. The rest, not so much. But, it's tough to be John. Unique voice.
Wonder if Paul ever saw Gary?
Jerry playing Jerry is badass!
Imagine Gary Gibson with Tyson Kelly's voice. It would be the perfect John, but I think Adam Hastings is the closest yet to that.
Great!
Amazing
Pretty amazing. He pulls & pushes strings at the same time but it's hard to know what he is doing as there seems to be more notes coming out than he is playing, especially high ones. I'll figure it out later. It's a great lesson in that style
the paul guy looks like him too just that he is not left handed
"Sir Paul McCartney" is also right-handed.
amazingly spot on bros
@ric66fb 0 seconds ago I'm really lucky in as much as I've known Jerry since we first met in the mid to late 60s back in the UK. I had the priviledge of playing drums with him on a regular basis back then and we'd have the odd drink together. He's a very humble guy and not given to go off on ego trips, which is incredible given his huge talent. I don't know if you are aware of this but sadly he had a stroke a couple of years back . This has resulted in him not being able to play since, and doctors think he may never be able to pick up the guitar again ... a huge talent which may be gone forever.
Wow absolutely beautiful!! Love it
Well pretty bad. Hard to even hear what they're playing.
This man was the original John Lennon from 1964-65, and again in 67. The other John's are mostly unknown but the other double was Colin Unwin. Both are still alive. Fennon was the one who got shot outside Dakota in 1980.
Lmao
Okay schizo
@@doodledangernoodle2517 You might do some research. Study the clips of "John" from the beatlemania period.
GARY ALWAYS WAS AND WILL BE THE BEST!
Mr Gibson is the real John Lennon. Watch interviews from 1964-65 - it's him. He was replaced in 1966, he wanted to retire, but returned to a couple of shots during Magical Mystery Tour.
@@NaaHva Eye spacing is wrong, and pre-66 Lennon had a straighter nose than this guy.
Could he actually have been one of the John's in 64-65??? As we all know The Beatles were never 4 people. They had doubles.
I saw this on PBS before Jerry started the Hellecasters. Instant fan. What a monster.
Deedee Ramone makes a good impersonation of George HAHA! (honestly, insane, no? Sure I wouldn't like to be this guy)
😂😂😂😂😂😂OMG!!! 😂😂😂😂
Holy crap its barry from the rutles back there
That man make me cry with his country licks
Jerry is such a beast. The perfection in his bending is ridiculous. Been a fan since the first time I heard the Hellecasters as a young guitarist and the older I get the higher the respect I gain for his skill. Randomly stumbled on this video and loved it
Paul..should be lefthanded bassist..c'mon
The Guitarist looks a bit like Ringo’s very temporary replacement Jimmy Nicholl👍😂😂😂
Rubbish
You may not know, but this Gary playing John Lennon was actually one of the John's in the 60s. As we all know, The Beatles used doubles so they could be multible places, if needed. Gary was thr 2nd John after Colin Unwin. In 1966, after The Beatles' last live performance, the four original Beatles and their doubles retired and got proper jobs in Liverpool. They were all replaced by taller look-a-like's who liked to experiment more in the studio. The imposter's (including Billy who is still Paul McCartney to this day) made Sgt Pepper and Abbey Road.
Damn.. he could emulate David Crosby from his stint with the "BYRDS!" He resembles both Lennon & Crosby a bit in this video!
2:01 just wow
Sound good,uncanny resemblance
Loved listening to you on CK! Thrilled to find this aircheck.
cool...
Im not worthy
Jerry is the Man. Fuck the rest
I love how calm and, still his face is, while he casually lays down a nearly impossible piece of guitar work. To me, that’s about as cool as it gets.
Genius!!
What a god
Applause
In defense of Vai,he never said he invented it...He just gave it a name.
I'd like to hang out with him for a month!

I did not know that! That is awful! I'm sorry for the loss of your friends ability to perform! He was the greatest in my opinion. @@ric66fb
A parody with a mix of Sokolove (background) and Pulaski Middleman/Kherkher (800-bad dali, instead of 800-BAD DRUG)
It doesn't matter. The other 3 could be black and no one would know the difference. Just looking at Gary Gibson and his resemblance to Lennon, we'd be staring at him the whole concert.
Incredible guitar 🎸 playing
This is one of the most inspirational pieces of footage that I have ever seen !
