Getting Rimmed - Rim Trail, Landahl Park, Blue Springs, MO
Landahl Bike Park is located just east of Independence Missouri near Blue Springs. It doesn't have the long downhill's of the Northwest (and corresponding long climbs), it does have well marked series of trails from Green to Red. This video is of the Black called RIM. I road it counter clockwise. RIM is a cross-country style trail with lots of rock techy features. It takes strong legs and good bike skills. This was shot on Christmas Eve and the trails were in great shape.

2024 Review: Old Men Mountain Bike Club

2024 was another great year of riding, exploring, laughing and finding new trails to ride. Here is just a sample of the wonderful places this life of bikes has taken us (not represented is Mary's Peak, the 100 gate, Moab, Dallas, and many more). Augie 2 - NW Rider takes on Midwest Blue Diamond - Lake Jacomo, Missouri
Просмотров 2821 день назад
Lake Jacomo Trails system is located outside of Independence Missouri near the small town of Blue Springs. The trails hug the edge of Lake Jacomo and included green, blue and black trails. This video is a sample of Augie 2 which is a blue diamond trail. The trails around Kansas City are cross country in nature, meaning unlike the NW with hour long climbs, these trails are full of flatter terrai...
The Three That Got Away - ISH Jump Line, Landahl Park
Просмотров 4928 дней назад
ISH is a red jump line at Landahl Park in Blue Springs, Missouri. The first time I hit this line, I skipped these three and my second time back I went for them. The biggest being the big drop (dont' know the name for it). The camera doesn't do justice to the drop. There isn't much decent on this trail so you have to keep your speed up (which I'm still working on) to hit them big, but you get th...
A NW Rider takes on the Midwest: Landahl Bike Park (Missouri)
Просмотров 4628 дней назад
Landahl Bike Park is located just east of Independence Missouri and while it does not have the long downhill's of the Northwest (and corresponding long climbs), it is a legit bike park with trails for all skill levels (green to black) and a jump line ISH trail (red), that while short is well designed and has an "easy" climb backup to allow for laps. I found the trails to be well marked which is...

A NW Mountain Biker takes on the Midwest - Swope Park, Independence MO
Просмотров 58Месяц назад
As a Northwest rider from Oregon, I'm used to hour long climbs and 5-mile downhills, so I was skeptical about riding in the Kansas/Missouri area, but that changed after riding Swope Park (between Independence and Kansas City close by the Chief's stadium). While I didn't have to climb for an hour, and there really wasn't any "downhill" the black diamond trail I road was legit - rocky, technical ...
Whypass Trails: Y2K x2
Просмотров 107Месяц назад
Whypass is a fun and unique place to ride because so many of the trails can be lapped. Y2K is no exception. It is 1.1 miles of flowy blue design with a number of great jumps along the way that drops 400 feet. You can then peddle or shuttle up the paved road to the trailhead and do it all over again. Here is a two-ride sample.

Whypass Trails: Ode 2 Joy x2
Просмотров 58Месяц назад
Every year the "old men" pick a spot and have a 24 hour ride event. For the 2024 edition, Whypass (Carpenter Bypass southwest of Eugene) was the location. Ode 2 Joy is one of my favorite trails in the system to lap. It is a short fun black diamond that has a little bit of everything. Here is a sample of the 24 hours of Whypass event with two runs down O2J.
Spense Mountain Trails: Speed King

Speed King is an example of that and is rated both Blue and Black depending on what section you are doing. The trail can be accessed from the 140 HWY parking area directly, or from the Eagle Ridge Road parking area and taking the South Ridge trail across the mountain. Here i...

A video summary of some of the trails at Whypass (Carpenter Bypass) during the 2024 version of the 24-hour ride (held at Whypass this year). Whypass has a trail for all skill levels with the ability to progress. The trails are situated to allow you to loop various trails over and over. These are three of my favorite trails to lap: Tree Prison right from the upper parking lot, Sunset just above ...

Just outside of Klamath Falls Oregon is Spence Mountain and a great network of supported and official trails. One of those is Chinquapin which is a blue rated trail on the lake side (second parking lot). This is a two mile long trail that descends 1000 feet with a little bit of everything: flow, drops and jumps. Here is a sample.

South Fork Trail - A Bend Black Classic
Love that trail. Heading back to ride it in a few weeks.
What river does that trail follow?
@@jameshumphreys1936 Not River, but follows the contours of a Lake.
@ I was thinking it might be the Missouri but if I remember it’s north of Independence. Some nice flowy trails and I bet in the spring it’s a beautiful ride through all those deciduous trees. Rode shout and the muddy today. Never disappoints! I did see that someone has cleared up the iris meadow trail from stick trail turnoff all the way down to where the road cuts down to trailbridge. I’ll check it out next week. Stay warm….those temps looking arctic 🥶 like!
deserves more likes and subscribers!!!
That looks hella fun!
Y2K is my fave there!
sick dude keep up the riding
Heading there tomorrow morning before the rain! Only been once... any recommendations? Im just getting back into mtb but ive been riding bikes my whole life. Can hit smaller tables and drops just nothing crazy. Thanks anyway! Nice vid
Have fun, Y2K will be good. Ode to Joy and a flowy easy ride is Northridge.
@OMMBCOregon i ended up hitting ode to joy and mama tried, as well as snake path. Definetly going for y2k next time and northridge sounds like lots of fun! Thank you 😁
Best crew
Hit Parade is such a blast! Just about a year ago I had a massive wreck landing on the little bitty bump @4:10 and smashed into the tree on the left at nearly full speed! I thought I broke ribs and an arm, but turned out ok, just sore and bruising. I would have broken ribs and arm if not for the chest/back plate and arm guards. I think it's foolish to ride without them. I just hope the shirtless kid learns that before he has a fatal wreck. I hope you got to check out Y2K and The Gift! Y2K is my fave.
Craig, what's your favorite trail in MacDonald Forest? I'll be riding up there some time soon for the first time in 30 years.
They have some great “new” trails. I would ride Secret to Secrets Out, the Playtime. Another good ride is Politic to Word to your Mother to As You Wish. Both start from the top of McCoulloch.
Do you have a stabilizer setup on your chest?
I used to before the GoPro’s got better with built in stabilization. This is a Hero 10 and I wear a full face helmet with the camera mounted to my chin. I found it gives the best view of the trail and while other parts of your body move (chest, arm, handlebars) your head stays pretty still. I don’t like the view with the camera mounted on my head.
Just rode it for the first time this weekend. Best riding in the state!!!
I didn’t realize that you could ride emtb there. I can’t wait to go back and try 3.0
Yep, still not officially okay.
Not a "flintlock" this is a "matchlock". Both are muzzleloaders.
Thanks for the clarification. I’ve made the correct.
Is this the old BMX track in Southtown by the Mary's river?
Yes. It has been cleaned up and improved.
I have never heard of this bike park. I will go. I like how you stuck the ending. That's what your gloves are for.
I have yet to ride this so I don't know if 3.0 is better or worse- What is your opinion Craig?
I liked the changes. Especially after it got a little bit of rain to pack it down.
Your rear shock top mount bolt is loose. I can tell by the sound
It was. I got that fixed. Good ear.
@1:28 you said "wide enough" but meant narrow.. These are the trails I grew up riding and we were continually cutting our bars shorter and shorter to gap trees- It's Eventually mine were 15" including bar ends. On this trail there was no option to the left at the time and you had to gap that or crash in deep brush. It took me a whaile to get used to the new geometries with short stems and 740-800mm bars!
Cool
Relaxing vid
Sick
That was fun!
Where is this spot?
Fall City Oregon. Right in town. You can jump from both sides.
👀
Heck yea
Hard landing
They are 17 yrs old. Hard landings mean nothing them!
I've up there only once maybe 15 years ago. Glad it's still a trail. Thanks for your videos I really appreciate them.
Excellent! I haven't rode that for years.
Helmet of and walk and talk
There is either crazy gopro effect or too much beer the night before.
Wow- it's a freeway now! It was all of 7 inches wide in the early 1990's. The jump @7:02 seemed way bigger back then LOL!
Was this originally "Groove Tube" in the '9o's?
I think so, but I think it fed into New Groove. About a third of the way in we make a hard left, which is the start of NG, Groove Tube fed in at that point. It is still there, but we ride Roller now to get there.
AMWs are so sick
Where were these trails @? Looking to go ride them!
They are in the City of Coquille Oregon in the Hundred Acre Wood park. Here is a link to the trail map. cms3.revize.com/revize/coquilleor/Hundred%20Acre%20Trail%20Map%2010.19.23.pdf
why would you want everyone to know you have no clue whaat you are doing. not something to be proud of. lol
Just saving the world thru my own mistakes!
This reminds me of the time my grandpa put a new exhaust on my moms truck. Well weeks after myself and my dad went elk hunting. One morning werw heading out to our hunting unit when we see a whole flock of turkeys. There was at least 18-25 females and 4-7 males. My dad slows down to take pictures when suddenly the males come up and start gobbling! We were confused when we finally realized it was the exhaust! Everytime my dad revved the engive and the exhaust did its thing (i dont know much bout vehicles) the males would come closer and closer while gobbling! They got so close I could have leaned out my window and pet them which of course I didn't. 😂😂
Woah woah woah. Thoss turkeys didnt have to say all that nasty stuff to u, im sorry bro, thoss turkeys need to learn a little respsct 😂😂
Lmao They think their little Diva's and the road is their runway😂
Красота 🙃
Clipped in? Shheeesh, bro, even I converted back to flats- And I rode toe clips for 30 years. Pinned flats are a far superior riding experience. Sweet vid though bro!
NIce, Thanks! Looks like a fun low-skill trail anyone could have fun on!
Yep, just takes a bit to get to the trailhead.
My old boss Cody (Uncommon in Philomath) was telling me about this. I think maybe he went with you one year. Looks like a fun adventure.
He did and it is a great ride.
Yep he did and it is a great ride.
They do that😂😂 😂😂😂
"Thanksgiving is murder! Stop the genocide!" What do we want? "Gobble". When do we want it? "Gobble gobble".
They chill when they know we are nowhere near Thanksgiving 🦃 yet. 😭😭
Look at these turkeys holding up traffic!
The most beautiful place on the planet!
Out for their morning strut, or heading to roost ?
That looks like a great trail!
Yes mountain biking in the snow sucks
