I dislike the remasters: Contrast/sharpness is too high, it looks stsange
They should have had the summons do multiple attacks to make them more viable.

how do you feel about xii? I only remembered playing it a bit but looking at the zodiac age system, wondering between this, 10 and 7 what would be a good next pick?
I never encountered that baphomet even though I passed like 180 hours exploring and level up

He's a plot point in FF9, so you can't get him. Just like you can't get "Holy" in FF7, for example.

You’d think after FF VIII they will up their game and then they came up with FF IX and it was like “meh” even the Summons look bad and lazy. I mean that girl in a swimsuit with sausage hair, they just colored her blue and called her Shiva.
FF9 summons are a stepdown, even their sprites are downgrades. Whats worse summon will cut after first use
Can't say I agree. While I like some summons better in other games (like Ifrit and Shiva), IX has pretty great looks and animations IMO. After the first summon, there's a random chance for the full animation to play and it counts as a critical hit, dealing more damage. There's also a passive ability "Boost" Garnet/Eiko can learn to have the summon to *always* be the full/critical hit one if you want to see them, that you can learn from a Pumice Piece, a guaranteed drop from the Ark boss in Oeilvert.
Makes you wonder how the pitch for the Ark summon went in the office lmao

That ark boss fight was just way too hard, but ark goes harder on the enemies
