I met one of his fellow protestors, Hugh Masakekala, a few years ago. He was a musician, fluegelhorn player. He signed my book (that he wrote) I had since I was in college. He hugged me like a grandfather that I hadn't seen in a month, then hugged me again. As I drove home after a fabulous performance, I had to pull off the road as tears of joy filled my eyes as I had been doubly hugged by a man that had been hugged by Nelson Mandela! Life is full of surprises. ❤☮️🎶

Hello Sherrie! I have rarely commented on your videos but I never miss a single one. Of course it is OUR house, you could even make it home as long as you are rethinking things.😊 About the floss debate, I am beginning to think the terminology is based on where you live. In the US, thread is on spools, floss comes in skeins (we have always pronounced it “skain” (don’t know why), AND a single piece from the skein is a “strand,” not a thread….thread comes on spools. In the end it is all a “tempest in a teapot” as my grandmother would say. Sending you a big hug!💕

Hi Sherry. You can use your scanner/copier and print a copy of the stocking template and using the print to reduce it. Maybe start with 10% reduction and just keep trying in small intervals until you get the size that works.

Copy the stitched stocking on your printer to make a temple for the finish. I had 3/8 of inch for the margin. Beautiful stitchng, thank yo for sharing.

Photocopy your stocking template but reduce by 88.9% (ie 32/36)

Hi Sherrie! I’ve heard other Flosstubers say that to make a template for a stocking, photocopy your stitch, then you can draw a stocking shape around the design on paper and cut out for your template. Just watch because sometimes a photocopied shrinks what it copies by a teeny amount, but you can just test the template against your stitch and make a slightly bigger one if needed. It’s an easy way to get a template. Hope that made sense.

Definitely yes to our with your lovely cats. And putting a cat motif in the sampler is brilliant. Just looked up the little match girl 😢. Much prefer your ending and the colours of the dresses

I think your Kitty Cat piece is adorable and I think the backstitch in the different colors is perfectly fine. Patterns sometimes tell you to do that. I wonder if you could find some cute butterfly buttons in different sizes to attach randomly in the background so you could place one on top of the highlighter mark. Wonderful flosstube!

Lovely finish on Mary Robards sewing thingy. 😅 On the little house in the woods, I would, leave the house and redo the tree, but that's me and not seeing it in person. Or, just leave it and keep stitching. Yes!, your cats count. Love how the patchwork calendar is coming out! So pretty. 😊

If you scan the template and print it at 89% I believe it should be the proper size for your 36 count stocking

Years ago, when I received a diagnosis that was life changing and very scary, I found a quote that became my mantra to get me through. I do not know who is credited with it, but It is, “It’s OK to be scared, being scared means you are about to do something really, really brave.”

So sorry your struggling with your week. I'm currently struggling with a few things that are going on in my life . I love watching your video's and seeing all your stitching progress. You bring a smile to my face, which at the moment isn't often. So thank you for sharing. Hope life improves for us both Happy stitching 😊❤

Quick note as I’m watching your FlossTube today. Your blessing sampler…a massive YES to use “our” home and I love that you will stitch a cat instead of an initial in the little circle! Our pets are part of our hearts and homes and should be included to our definition of HOME and FAMILY. You’ve always spoken of your cats as family with such love Sherie and representing them like this on your sampler is just you being you. I’ve always felt the same way about our dogs.🥰🐾

Thanks Sherrie,love to see all your stitching. I only knew of candy floss & dental floss until recently years. It’s kind of creeping into my vocabulary with threads now too.The only ‘floss’ I can’t get to grips with is that weird dance move my kids were obsessed with a few years ago. I never could follow a routine…YMCA, Oops Upside Your Head, Floss… I failed at them all 🤣 Hope you have a better week next week ❤️

I love your finished pouch Sherrie! I definitely need to take some inspiration and try some new finishing styles!! For your stockings if you have a scanner/copier on your printer they often have an option to scale the copy. For my stockings I think I did an 80% copy to convert the template from 14ct to 18ct size. I'd guess you'd want 90% to go from 32 to 36ct! Let me know if you want any help sorting it!

Hi Sherrie! Congratulations on your finish of the pouch - I think you did a great job with the finishing. I love the revisions you’re making to the Little Match girl colors. Dark blue for the lady and plum for the little girl will both look great. On the blessing sampler, I think you can leave it as”our” home and I like the idea of adding a cat. Happy Saturday! You know, Dimensions kits design their patterns with some parts with 1 strand, some with 2, and some with more. So I say you leave the house the way it is and just say you were adding some "Dimension" to the piece. It really does look nice.

Lovely to catch up with you. I’m always amazed at how much work you get done. As for the new start I’d try adding the other thread. Not over but trying to add the bottom leg by threading it under the top then adding the top leg. A long winded process though so good luck with whatever you decide. Donna

Sherrie didn't you hear me shouting? " It's 'Help' by the Beatles!" The difference in our ages is that I went to see both 'A Hard Day's Night' and 'Help' at the pictures when they were first shown😮 It's probably why all the skeins I own are still 'Threads' to me!😂 I've just begun a 32ct Evenweave in pale blue (think it's a Sparklies one I bought at the FOQ, NEC in '22 but have lost the packet!) using one thread The Gentle Art 'Mediterranean Sea from my stash on Heartstring Samplery's 'WIP IT GOOD' and it's looking good but nothing dense as your house is and personally prefer not to see the underlying fabric through it yet 2 strands can look too chunky so I guess it comes down to personal preference.
