      If you ask Thai people, they’ll say it depends on your luck! 😂Thai rainy season can be unpredictable, especially if it's not the peak of the season yet, which applies to August. Phuket, being an island, can experience quite unpredictable rain. Some people have visited in August last year and had no rain at all for seven days, only to have it pour on the last day! But anything is possible. For Bangkok and Pattaya, there's nothing to worry about-you can travel without concerns. I’m heading to Pattaya myself in mid-August, with everything booked! ❗But for Phuket, it’s wise to check storm conditions in advance. Refer to the official weather site www.tmd.go.th/warning-and-events/warning-storm and heed any warnings about ocean conditions. Even if it's no rain, during the monsoon season, waves can still be quite high. Make sure to consult with boat tour operators about safety before heading out to sea.

      Thailand is a Buddhist country, and since secondary school, we are taught to meditate. I studied in a Buddhist secondary school, where monks taught us Buddhism for two hours a week. During those sessions, we also had some meditation practice. So, we understand the concept of meditation, but it’s not like all of us continue doing it on a daily basis.

      Generally, it’s not the best time, but I'm also going to Phuket this October :) I've already booked and paid for my flight and hotel. From September to mid-October, it's monsoon season, which means high waves and dangerous conditions for island hopping. I'm planning to just lounge by the beach and explore Phuket town instead. Yes, it will rain, but in Thailand, it usually rains for 1-2 hours and then stops. I’m okay with that. You can expect overcast skies, so if you’re an Instagrammer, don’t expect clear blue skies (although it can happen, depending on your luck). October and November are good for traveling to Phuket because it's the shoulder season. It’s cheaper for accommodation and flights, and there are fewer tourists. However, it won’t be the blue skies and calm waves you would see from December onwards.

      It will rain, but it never rains all day long in Thailand. So, I would say it won't impact your vacation much. You can buy an umbrella or rain jacket at any 7-11, which you can find every few blocks in Thailand, or just wait it out in a cafe until the rain stops and then continue exploring. However, if you go to the west/Andaman coast where Phuket and Krabi are, you should be extra careful before heading out into the sea for island-hopping tours. Make sure it's not during a storm and that it's safe to go (with no high waves). Ask the boat/tour company for advice and check the weather news yourself about any storms at the time. It is not the wrong type of toilet paper. It is because of the narrow pipes. Even in apartments I have lived in, I had to use a bin for used toilet paper. Also, in most places, such as a poetrol station, they don't even have a BUM GUN but just a bowl or tub of water and you must clean your dirty bum by using your hand and water. That is why countries al over Asia that eat with their hands, only use one hand. The hand that you don't use to wash your shitty bum.

    • @thailandvsglobe
      @thailandvsglobe 28 дней назад

      Maybe it's a combination of both, but I know for a fact that it's related to the wrong type of toilet paper. But I'm no expert in pipes, so maybe your reason is also another factor. I used to work in a research team for the biggest tissue company in the world, which operates in Thailand as well. We conducted research that showed why and how many establishments in Thailand are not using flushable toilet paper. This leads to toilets getting clogged when non-flushable paper is used.

    Thank you for the wonderful information...we are planning a short trip to Thailand in August and booked our stays. First 2 nights in BKK, 2 nights in Koh Samet, 2 nights in Pattaya and last night in BKk. Since it's rain season, I'm wondering if i should cancel my Koh Samet bookings since it might be dangerous to be on the boat during the rain (just in case it's a heavy down pour)...what would you suggest?

    • @thailandvsglobe
      @thailandvsglobe 29 дней назад

      Thank you for your comment. We appreciated it. Would it be bad to say it depends on your luck as well? :( But that’s kind of true. If you don’t arrive during a storm, there’s a 5-70% chance of rain. Rayong province (where Koh Samed is located) won’t have daily rain until mid-September to mid-October. But again, it depends if you come during a storm. I’ve been to Koh Samed during the rain back when I was in college. On our last day, the sky was dark, and a storm was coming, so we couldn’t leave as planned in the morning. But guess what? By 10:30, the sky cleared up, and the boat was ready to leave. So you never know. Just make sure that if you come, you don’t take the risk of going out to sea if it looks like there will be a storm. And there's a chance that you may have to postpone your departure boat ride. Keep your schedule a bit flexible for that. One last thing: consider whether you are serious about having bright blue skies and a blue sea, say if you're a photographer. Chances are, it might not be picture-perfect. Even right now, it rains only half an hour to two hours a day (intermittently), but it’s not sunny with blue skies. It’s rather overcast.

      I say, if this is the only time of year you can come, it's fine. 👍 It's not as sunny as April or as blue-skied with chilly breezes as in December, but the upside is fewer crowds. 😊 It never rains nonstop in Thailand, especially outside the peak season of September and October. 🌦 Just bring an umbrella or rain jacket from 7-Eleven and continue traveling as normal. 🏝 Also, listen to the boat companies-if they say it's too risky to go island hopping, don't go. 🚤

    • @thailandvsglobe
      @thailandvsglobe Месяц назад

      As far as weather goes, it really depends on your luck, unfortunately 🤷‍♀. I'm in Bangkok and can report real-time conditions for you. It rained heavily only once last week, with a bit of a sprinkle once or twice 🌧. Yesterday was gloomy with dark clouds ☁, but no rain. Today, it's blue skies and super sunny 🌞. July isn't the peak of the rainy season yet, so it's not likely to rain every day unless a storm hits. For Krabi, the weather will be similar to Bangkok, but since it's a beach city, expect it to be less predictable with more abrupt changes 🌦. From my experience, trust the boat companies and talk to more than one to see if they have any cautions about going out to sea that day. If a storm hits while you're in the middle of the sea, it can be very scary 🌊. Check TikTok for recent videos on Phi Phi weather or storms-some show how quickly conditions can change. Personally, I wouldn't risk being out at sea during a storm again.

      It's hard to tell when you're on an island, I guess. But according to a local (Phuket), if you saw the news on June 30th, there was severe flooding in Phuket. ‼️However, there are two important points from someone on the ground (try searching TikTok for Phuket weather, maybe use google translate to Thai language): 1. The flooding didn't impact Patong Beach. The Patong area remained dry. (So even during flooding, it's not the entire island.) 2. By July 1st, the sky was blue and clear, and everyone was enjoying their day out. 🤷🏻‍♀️ So, keep your fingers crossed! I hope you'll get to see some blue skies during your trip. You never know-it's hard to predict the weather near the coast, beach, or island.

    June is peak low season, not many tourists and not everything open with the beaches suffering from potentially dangerous waves. It will pour rain heavily, then the rain stops. The heavy rain cleans out the drains and can pollute the seas a bit, that said l enjoyed it when i went to Karon in June and this year i went in May and will also visit in September. I don't think Phuket has ever really be that quiet (except in 2020-2021 of course), to be honest. You won't be the only person in Patong, rain or shine. People say it's "overly touristy" for that reason. Regarding activities, many islands in the Andaman Sea (the beautiful ones that are national parks) are mostly closed during that month. But on the Thai Gulf coast, you can still enjoy island hopping on that side.
