its such a huge disappointment. its stuttery. The control scheme is confusing. The textures are awful. Back to 2020 i think.

Just got it yesterday and have never cussed so much in my life.

I have to disagree with the game part. It has become more of a game rather than a simulator, especially when you look at the training offered now vs then. On Fs 2002-FSX they had flight instructor Rod Machado teach various flight maneuvers and flight operations. There are assists in “career mode” that can’t be turned off. It’s almost equivalent to the flight training offered in Grand Theft Auto V.

At this point its a disaster worst release in gaming history. What a failure for Microsoft. In 2 words It Sucks

Game developers to MS leadership: "We need this, this and this to make the game playable at launch." MS leadership: " No, thats too expensive. You can fix bugs after launch". Economy department: "We need this, this and this so that all transactions for the game will go smoothly". MS leadership: Of course, if that goes to shit we wont get our bonuses!"

I think the servers aren't yet where they need to be. Before release we were told a 100MBps ingernet connection was needed for the enhanced settings. I have a 1 Gig connection, yet ground textutes are blurry, including runways taxiways etc. The only thing that renders crisp and clean is the trees. Buildings and ground very blurry. Very frustrating as i can see the massive potential of the sim

The settings controls are a mess and extremely convoluted. I have wasted hours trying to map the buttons on my Thrustmaster joystick. The throttle and elevator axis are reversed.

I know the 5800X3D doesn't bottleneck the 4090 as bad when everything is set on Ultra. Plenty of room for improvement though.

I don't think the airport looks impressive, it looks like plastic, including the buildings and planes. 2020 airports look more like real buildings with a metal and weight feeling.

I have the same stick as you and at first I never noticed it moving my view as I was using my VR headset. When I started using head tracking instead, that bleeding thumb stick kept moving my view to my feet. It took me a while to find it was that as well. I deleted the option in controls to fix mine. The sim is running great for me so far. I did leave it a couple of days before i bought it, so skipped all the 97% loading issue.

I haven't even played a single minute of it yet. Gets stuck at 68% everytime. Tried reinstalling. Takes 45 min to get to 68% and stops. Left it running over night and it still showed 68%. I'm in the UK. Don't know what to do.

Running in 4k with a system that stutters. lol. 2560× 1440 would be a far better resolution for a much better experience and fps.

A quick comment... This game loads slower than 2020 did.

I’ve had very mixed feelings about this game. I’ve been playing on Xbox and having fun but there’s so many game breaking bugs I’ve ran into where I have to close and restart the game. I had an A rating built up then the game crashed and I went down to a C rating. I’ve skipped to decent and my controller no longer responds in game while still connected to my Xbox. I cannot wait for some stability updates because this game will be so fun but till then it’s quite frustrating to play at times.

Very good experience yesterday here in Canada and with several Aircraft. Just can't wait to be able to save custom cockpit views.

What i don't hear anyone talking about is how terrible the new tablet EFB is. I'd much have a separate VFR map and payload app. I cant even find the MTOW/Useful load anymore! Just give me the old menu back please!

Can someone please tell me how long you wait for the game to load on Series X? It just seems like people are loading it with no problems. I get stuck at 98% and never loads, and this is almost 1 week from its massive launch failure. I am puzzled.

on the controls, it doesnt explain what General settings are for, and what the difference is between that and aircraft settings as they both have the same options. I find the control setup system genuinely baffling.

You were one of thousands that bought into the idea that FS24 was going to be like they said! They lied and duped you with the oldest sales trick : selling garbage for the price of gold! To me,besides Free Flight everything else is crap! AND it has the SAME OLD UGLY unresolved FS20 issues! Mountains are way too rounded,specially from a distance,Google maps like up close scenery,with everything "melted" around and distorted,and the list goes on and on! Its very sad,because I love /hate FS20 and was expecting something much,much better! I´m an ATP rated pilot and use FS20 for some interesting reasons,and was expecting more of FS24! Well,my IQ level wont allow me to spend time and money only to feel frustrated! Thats MSFS Team and Asobo for you,who know very little about aviation,they are NOT pilots! Therefore,the results!

Still cannot get into Career Mode...judging from the comments everywhere, only a small percentage can get it to come up and many who do find that it is glitchy. The weather looks pretty good as does some of the scenery but this is hardly worth the hype...more like an upgrade than anything worthy of a new full-price game. In my career I was responsible delivery of new products, systems and other major products and if I executed this poorly, I would have expected to be terminated along with my senior team. As with most others, I am hopeful the MS will fix this, but so far their efforts are a complete disgrace to the industry. At the very least, they should refund all purchase payments as a gesture of good will.

Gotta pull the power out when you descend like that. You crashed because you over-sped the aircraft. No idea why it would show you crashed though. You should be able to go quite a ways into the red before it comes apart.

Staying in 2020. I have 2024….but not wasting my time on it right now. Its honestly a year away from being pretty good.

I had all the same problems you did. Then I had a Eureka moment and realised what I had done wrong. A double click fixed everything. You just need to shut down fs2024 then hover your mouse pointer over the fs2020 icon and double click. Problem solved.

In my opinion. Anyone who tried to download and use a game on the first few days which has 15 MILLION active users has "rubbish" for a brain themselves. I would bet money this critic will never go back to 2020 after this thing get a chance to shake out. Microsoft did not spend close to a BILLION dollar to ge what I think are stupid comments like this. Some other people with a more positive attitude are getting wonderful results.

The core issue of the mess it currently is, is the weird idea to stream the planes and airports as well. Absolutely nobody ever asked for that!

Seems like its a year of money grabbing from game makers this year. MSFS 2024 reviews are crap. Same with Farmer Simulator 24 reviews are rubbish too. Whose the next game producer whose going put a new crap game. The saying goes "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" if you can't improve it don't sell it as a better version or hype it up, they just loose customers. Especially the ones that wait.

I've had exactly your experience! I was so disappoint that for the very first time in my life, after buying over 200 games in my life, I asked for a refund! And I barely got in on steam! And after the online servers problems, you have a game that clearly has many many bugs, in missions, in the airplanes, etc! It's not acceptable to release a product like this!

I refunded through Steam, I'll look at it again in 6 months when it's cheaper and has some patches under it's belt. I'm back to 2020. You are right, it's a disaster
