Happy New Year to everyone!!! Great video, very helpful!!! Did some sim rate change on a flight and noticed that the ATC sounded like it had no idea where I actually was... So while I was descending to land it started telling me that I was below my instructed flight level and prompted me to to expedite to 5000ft... i used the ATC menu to say that I'm on final and so on but still the same... So I landed without any instructions where to park and after stopping at some random place I had to use the NEXT FLIGHT PHASE to actually get the sim up to date... Anyone had a glitch like that??? Thanx again!!! P.S. I kept the comm window as well as the mission window open throughout the flight and didn't miss any communication or instruction from the ATC...

13:20 I have noticed whenever I go through the pre-flight steps, I never have problems with calling in for approval to taxi. However if I try to skip them, sometimes it wont allow me to call in for taxi. Yes I have made sure IFR and VFR was correct with ATC when I had these issues and it did not matter. BUT I have never had a problem with calling taxi when I did the Pre-Flight. ALSO there is no need to skip taxi because its long and boring. Just increase the speed of the game to speed up simulation and make it faster while staying under the speed limit if time is a problem for you. Also if your new to this and dont know where to go before taking off and not sure what to do, just zoom into the map on your tablet to see the airport and you will see where you need to go and where you need to be. The most important thing to do before landing is make sure the game is taking you to the right runway. Too many times I have not double checked this and was penalized for not landing on the right runway. CONFIRM the runway you call in to the airport for landing is the runway the indicaters are taking you to. Obviously this isnt for more advanced simmers and directed towards new simmers that still use visual assistance. LOL Difficult take off position: On top of a building on a helipad while in a c172. Imagine my thought process when that loaded in hahaaa. I might have tried it if another building wasnt in front of me. The other is boring but my 208B was practically standing on its tail. Mission restarts did nothing to correct the problem on either.

Why don't you test for yourself what that XFER-Button does? After entering a frequency Click hundred times on enter, then hundred times on standby to activate the frequency. This XFER-Button seems to shut down both engines. Give it a try, it doesn't! It only activates your frequency directly.

But most will be useful, AP being the biggest one, i have been through your tips twice now and at the moment i'm going to see how i do in AP, always seems to want to fall out of the sky, i think i maybe doing something wrong throttle wise, but i'll see. A Carenado plane (Piper PA28 Arrow III) inherited from MSFS 2020 works well in MSFS 2024, except that the Garmin GNS 430 does not come on and none of the exterior lights (beacon, navigation, strobe, taxi, landing) work. Do you expect Carenado to update this plane or is there a third party fix?

On my Cessna 208B whenever I try to engage the autopilot, it literally flings its nose in the air and then banks super fast and almost inverts... it absolutely HATES AP. Am I doing something wrong? My VisionJet is butter smooth and no issue at all, along with my 172. Why does the caravan do this?

Nothing is true what you have said. Nothing has been fixed. 2024 has just been released, so how it can be matured. Nearly all planes are broken, with so many bugs that hard to tell in one comment. It's a disaster arcade game. Period.

13. Hit CDI instead of OBS. Make sure CDI is GPS to follow a gps track. LOC1 and 2 are for localizers.

He's wrong about skipping taxi. Always skip taxing. It cost you nothing.

You can press the heading bug and it will sync to your current heading, then you can adjust from there.

How do you do a tower view that locks onto the plane though? Using showcase and drone lock doesn't seem to do it well

Thank goodness for Hype's h145 and the free Random and anywhere pack. Out classes msfs24 and we didn't even know it... Hoping for great things from Say intentions - Sky Ops.. Msfs24 career is a shit show.. How many times can you look for someone with a orange back pack. Tedious.

Here’s a tip…..fix the damn mouse on Xbox so I can fly and discover all the bugs for myself.

There are many useful videos out there but very few well made and easy to follow as this one. Got a lot of info now on my note pad to follow in game. Unfortunately for me the game changes ever time I load it and that being settings change, graphics change and aircraft become unflyable. Seems everyone has different issues but cannot go to MFSF2020 as I runs my PC 100deg constant (good job it was a demo) One thing might be useful for others is that on your main map there are areas not highlighted for missions. To get this opened go to an airport there select it and options will open, choose to go there and pay a little fee and it opens out with more missions. I have opened all my favourite areas doing this. Thanks for an excellent video tutorial enjoyed it very much and learned a fair bit. Happy new Year and safe flying to everyone.

Also I'll add when going for Medium Cargo missions in freelance career have your planes ( Caravan, PC12 etc ) delivered _outside_ of Europe - I prefer Australia - and fly missions there. Europe will give you headache after headache of landing at airports that are totally unsuitable for these planes ( tiny, short runways, glider ports and mountains ) Australia will give you mostly long runways, and also the longer 6 and 7 hour plus flights that are worth over 1mill credits each.

When you _do_ crash in career mode ( and it can happen through no fault of your own ) do absolutely _nothing_ , don't CTD, don't click on anything. Just pull the plug on your PC ( yes I'm serious ) Restart and it's as if nothing ever happened. Either that or grind to fix your crashed plane.

If you are too far off the GPS course, NAV will not track. You need to have nav selected and use the heading bug to manoeuvre close to on track. Nav will then pick up and take over.

I don't even understand, why a FLIGHT simulator now is a "second-full-time job simulator"... As a person with a life and real world obligations this stoooopid decision was, what made me pass on MSFS 2024, despite the enhancements. If they would have just allowed for an optional Career and made the new tasks available as an "activity", as well. But no, they had to introduce the Grind™ and not everyone has time for a boring 3-4 hour "transport flight" each weekend, for months(!) to "advance" in the career and grind enough credits and xp to do the "interesting activities" the developers so proudly teased, but now hide behind the grind... erh, career mode. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Useful tip, when using the Sim Rate at 4 clicks above normal flight, to avoid missing a ATC transmission, keep up the communication window. It will "Grey Out" at the bottom prior to ATC talking to you. This will enable you to quickly reduce your Sim Rate down so that you will hear the clearance and be able to respond.

Is there no way to do a tower view in showcase truly locking on to the plane All the way down final to touchdown? The lock drone toggle on showcase seems useless?

I reside in Spain, I started downloading at 10:00 AM, completed, 4.00 PM the following day! All went well, got airborne. The next day received my first update to ms2024. After that all has broken loose! MFD and other displays missing, Totally blank!, Then stuck at Malaga airport. Selected the 737 and LAX, the system loads up on the world view over the west coast of USA, the revolves to Spain, and viola!, I am back in Malaga in an Airbus 321! Highly peeved, and not impressed!
