This is awesome! Your video actually got me to send my Athena to Vulcan for the same work haha I was wondering, how long was the overall lead time from when you sent it in to getting it back?
Well done AJ.
Miller precision grips and triggers are my go to for upgrades❤
Unironically best 2011 review channel on YT
Xc or charyn?
Charyn. It is one of the few guns that completely out classes the XC
Beautiful. I’m too nervous to do anything to my atlas. But I modify my staccatos
LUCKY MUTHAFUKRAH!! I wish my Artemis was ported. I agree, the Hyperion is the best looking Atlas and whoever owns a Hyperion RDS is another LUCKY MUTHAFUKRAH!!
I don’t have much time on 2011s, what would be the purpose of a slide stop undercut?
It makes the paddle more accessible for locking back the slide. It becomes an issue with 2011s because their frames are wider in that section than a 1911, basically covering up the underside of the slide stop paddle.
Thanks for the first rate video’s, I have a brand new atlas apollo that I have not shot that has quite a bit of play slide to frame, I am going to try to get a Charyn, but that ain’t easy. Thanks again
@user-ed5jh3ff6u I'd be pretty disappointed if my new Atlas showed up with sub optimal slide to frame fit. Charyn is definitely worth the quest
Great review! Have you shot the apollo and if so, how did this shoot compared to it? My buddy had his athena ported with the same type of ports the apollo comes with and I'd imagine they shoot very similar. The vulcan ports work great though, i have them on my P Heritage and it made a huge difference. Fellow 1911addict here btw (same name)
@@Therapewtic The Apollos shoot nice. The difference over a stock Athena isn't as great as with the Vulcan ports, but it's still a nice bump up.
Thanks for the video. The grip is the major attraction like you mentioned glad the trigger was very good as well. Basically only interested in Atlas, Hayes, and customs at this point be well sir.
Yes 💯
Do you have any experience on the Eos or Apollo? I'm looking for one more 2011 that can do it all, and I don't mind carrying a full size (even if Atlas full size is only 4.6in). I've heard the Apollo is a great performer, but I hate the slide cuts and that they didn't flush cut the barrel unlike the Eos. Then again I guess I could just buy the Athena for $500 less and then port it like this one here lol
@Enyalus87 I've shot an Apollo and though they shoot nice, the difference between an Apollo and an Athena isn't as much as the Vulcan ports provide on an Athena. With carry being a consideration, I'd look at porting a Nyx, or the Eos. In the next month or so I should be having a go with an Ignis ported Nyx. I'll try and record a short with how that stacks up
I love watching videos on pistols I can't afford! I keep hearing Atlas is the king of flat shooters. Might not beat the Alien but king of 2011s
@venomgt7299 I've shot an Alien and while it was an interesting experience, I didn't love it. A bit of an awkward beast. The way the 2011 market is expending there are some increasingly compelling options for at least getting close to Atlas for considerably less
@LEADitOUT im about to buy a Walther PDP SF Match slightly under 2k. I think it should be pretty flat and accurate with that weight.
@@venomgt7299 the steel Walthers are definitely nice shooters
Did Vulcan DLC the slide after the porting? If yes how is their DLC compared to the Atlas DLC?
@Tavo0331 Thanks for bringing this up. Yes, Vulcan re did the DLC on the slide and barrel and it looks perfect. Same as factory. Vulcan also flush cut and crowned the barrel on this example
Saw this on 1911Addict and knew it was going to be a shooter. Your Dark Saber or this Athena?
I'll just say it is closer than I like to admit. Darksaber is still number one for me, but it's looking like I am faster with the Vulcan Athena
@@LEADitOUT it's like picking between your favorite child, I get man. Thanks for the video
Hi…Have you reviewed at Kustomworx LLC Defender?
I haven't. I actually only recently became aware of them. Seems like an interesting option, the V10 ports certainly caught my attention. After Shot I will reach out to them and see if they have anything I can demo.
Excellent review sir! While certainly not the best I shoot my Atlas pistols as well or better than anything. They just flat out work.
Once again brother! Chef’s kiss’….I love your outlook on some of these 2011’s as they are almost spot on with mine. Please keep up the outstanding outlook and presentation you keep within your videos/reviews! Side note: Yes! We 2011 people have problems! Spot on brother!
My man! I've watched several of your videos and I really enjoy them. I subscribed a while back, but I dont think I've taken the time to leave you a comment! Keep up the great work!!!
Thank you, that means a lot. I enjoy your content as well and always look forward to your next drop! Venom's and Raffertey's are always choice!
I will be waiting almost a year for my left hand version. Then even longer once it goes to Vulcan! Great work man.
And worth every second of that wait. Enjoy!
I think I have seen this pistol in 1911 forum! 😅
Just got mine and it took 10 months to arrive. The fit and finish is nearly as nice as my nighthawk. I got full dust cover, tool less guide rod, ported. She is a looker!!!
@ajforever8251 great screen name, and 10 months really isn't bad at all.
Do ACW HiCap
@ChronisBeanisIII I have a friend with one and am working on borrowing it before too long for a review. May be a few months before i get it in hand though.
@ curious on your take vs the XC for uncompensated gun
@ChronisBeanisIII I prefer the XC. Compared to an XC the Vudoo only makes sense "to me" if you need an uncomp'd pistol for competition purposes, or you really want the metal grip and aren't interested in modding. I prefer the Vudoo to the ACW I have used, though I am curious how the Fowler V9 will compare.
Great video! My main LO gun is a priest with ~8000 rounds through it so far. Been exceptional. But I didn’t even know you could order one with a bushing barrel. Not sure why you would when bull is an option, but to each their own.
Beautiful gun
Kimber 2K11 please
It is on my short list. Unfortunately I don't know anyone who has one yet, but I am looking
Glad i found your channel. Love your reviews on 1911 addicts. Keep it up!
Thanks again brother for another great review! Definitely one of my top 3 reviewers! Keep up the awesome work and stay safe!
Thanks for the review I really like mine and price was reasonable for the offering. Hope to see you can getting these double stacks in for review be well.
amazing gun, great co.. but all that logo and incongruous slide cuts is a taste thing I guess. its like the anti-Fowler.. which has a lot of texture but is appealing .. looks like a shooter either way.
@@blaiseeltine9516 I completely agree with that assessment. Two different approaches to busy design, one is very appealing, one just isn't
woot
Thank you!
Great review as always, was going to ask your thoughts on the MPA DS9
I need to try to get an MPA in for review but they are right there with the Vudoo. If I break down the details I would give Vudoo the edge, but I can't say for sure until I get some time behind one.
@@LEADitOUT they just released a new compensated version, hope u get your hands on one to review
curious why you didn't have him pin the grip safety.
@bobbytaylor3177 When a grip safety is tuned correctly, as in activates after minimal movement as opposed to needing to be fully depressed, I don't view it as a weak point or hindrance.
@@LEADitOUT 10/4. Thanks for the response.
Where’d you get the holster with x300 combo? Need one for 2 Infinity’s
@zackmarjamaa298 I use a QVO owb for a 5" Prodigy with an X300. The Prodigy pattern will work with most custom 2011s, vs the Staccato versions which are designed to accommodate the narrower frames
I was looking for my first 2011. Ive bad numerous 1911s. Nighthawks, Wilson Combat, i have a Christensen Arms which funny enough, i like more than the nighthawks. I know. I know. Is what it is. Inwas going to buy something other thsn staccato. I didnt want to spend more than 3500 but was going to try one if these newer players. Your videos and chanbers videos, inended uo buting a staccato lol. I think i want to commission a charyn now 😂😂. Im ruined
I recently acquired one of my dreams pistols a nighthawk agent 2 blacked out with carbon fiber grips and a Calvin edition infinity is next on my list !!! Beautiful pistol sir
@@_beanswick2054 an Agent 2 and Calvin’s Cherry is a perfect two gun solution
@@LEADitOUThopefully they make another Calvin’s edition in the future!! Got to stack them Benjamin’s lol
She shoots flat
Super cool and pretty.
First of all……. This is THE BEST CHANNEL NAME IVE EVER COME ACROSS! Had to sub! Great Pistol. Great video. Keep going.

Infinity makes great firearms. Im not a fan of the new drop system but their guns look and perform very well.
Really dope🎏👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻
sometimes SVI guns are too 90s for me.. but this thing is one of my favorites as far as utility and aesthetics.. thx AJ
That pistol is STUPID awesome 😂
Beautiful
i will literally be your slave/slash body guard for the rest of your life if i can have that gun
You CAN just tell that it shoots well watching the shooting footage herein. As good as it gets here...hell of a gun man.
Great videos, seen them all. Hope you consider starting a Patreon- have a ton of questions for you.
@@samuelmurphy4512 Thank you for the support! I'm looking into how to implement a Patreon to give the community more value and interaction
Never shot one and most likely never will but I’m curious to know what is the level of extra performance or fit and finish do you get as opposed to say a Voodoo Priest? Or Masterpiece Arms ? And is it worth the extra money. Not being a wise guy I’m truly curious.the nicest 2011 I’ve been lucky enough to shoot is a Hayes Custom Island barrel and the fit and finish on that was at a level that it’s hard to imagine anything better it was amazing
@googlechicken The difference gets smaller and smaller the higher up the ladder you go. Vudoo and MPA both make nice guns though it's difficult to put a number on "how much" is being left on the table. The Hayes Cobra makes that gap even smaller and in fact I would say there will be minimal appreciable performance gain between Hayes and Infinity, and the cost is more for options and finish.
I’ve got an Erebus and Infinity DD on the way. I think the Hayes Custom Cobra is the best bang for the buck. After options it’ll run just over 5K. As much love as Hayes is getting in reviews I figure he’ll raise the price soon, so I put one on order last month, lol. Vudoo seems really nice also, and the price point is good for now, but I think based on reviews, Hayes is better.
@@LEADitOUT I’ve been able to handle a Hayes island barrel and the fit and finish is really next level the slide to frame fit is the best I’ve ever felt it’s super tight but feels like there is no friction it just glides like ice on glass the Finnish on the gun is beautiful the one I held was black with polished flats and the rose gold island barrel. I had it next to a 5” Nemesis and I just liked the Hayes lines better did not get to shoot either though so no opinion on performance. The Priest is just getting so much love from people who’s opinion I respect and at the price point it’s tough for me to ignore
@@LEADitOUT thank you for your response
@@garyokie4893 appreciate your response it’s a tough choice but not in a position to get more than one this is my retirement gift to myself
