I have the opposite problem: It shows up fine in the list of control surfaces, but it has no effect. Nothing on my MOTÖR49 is ever instantmapped. I've paintakingly verified that the folder name matches the recognized device name. MOTÖR insists on using global channel 2 so I use "1" in the userConfiguration.txt file. CC numbers match what you have in your example file when I test in the MIDI mapping mode. How does this method compare to the Python method? Ready to try that next.

@@impulsecoupling I almost resorted to the python method myself I have not investigated although I know that it is probably just as powerful if not more. I have since replaced my MIDI controller with a Novation SL MKIII.

I'm not 100% sure if it's clear from the video but the visualization and the sound are the same thing. One of the oscillators is going to the X channel of the oscilloscope and the other oscillator is going to the Y channel of the oscilloscope. So the sounds you're hearing are made by the waveforms you're seeing

@@alecdiastra I assumed so but that clears up what the X/Y split is, I've tried patching the oscillators seperately in stereo but haven't run the sound thru an oscilloscope yet (only have digital options for now ahah), those square waves almost look like a 3D cube with how they shift!

@@dendord it's also really fun to run it through a pair of galvanometer with a laser but you have to be careful since most synthesizers can create tones that will destroy a set of galvanometer if you're not careful

Fader for mixer? What type of mixer?

Your surface is NOT mapped this way. Included control surfaces have much more complex scripts stored in a different location.

Using this option, no there is not. Its just simple mapping. Ableton does support more complex scripts in python though.

Yup, the encoders are in banks. There are 8 knobs but 32 addresses. Just add them in the file and use the bank button to switch

Yes just use the Bank button to select bank 9-16 and check to see what the midi signal are using midiview or any other midi signal viewing tool.

There is an example script that already came with your copy of Ableton. Just follow the instructions in the video. It's different for every interface.
