Lets Design this Pumping Water network with WaterGEMS Software
Here we go again with a new Watergems tutorial. In this tutorial, we will see how we will design the rising main of this large project that is still in the design phase! In this Watergems tutorial, we will use Watergems as design software to ensure we are coming up with the required total pump head and flow for the proposed pump!I hope you will get something out of this, please forget not to share it with friends!

Hello, I have recently been learning to use CROPWAt and CLIMWat and I want to calculate the crop water requirement for my country at the provincial scale for 2010-2020 and I have a few questions to ask. Looking forward to your reply.🥰First, can I export 150 or so sites at once in CLIM? I learned that CROPWat can only select a pen or cli file for one site at a time, so how can I quickly figure out the water requirements for 150 sites for 10 years? Second question, how to check the corresponding year of pen and cli data of CLIM export site? The third question is, which criteria should I use when calculating effective rainfall? Fourthly, in about 14 minutes of the video, you mentioned that a variety of crops can be considered to calculate the water requirement of crops, but I don't quite understand it. Will the ETc calculated before be automatically updated when crop types are added? Fifth, for the soil type part, I just need to identify the crop types in my study area and choose from CROPWat? What I want to ask is, are the parameters of the same soil type uniform across countries?
Brightness is very low invisible
Very sorry for that my friend! I will try my best to improve next time!
I have the completed WaterGems tutorials for beginners. Please do a videos of designing water supply networks by importing a layouts from other sources like Google earth & QGIS. Thank you

You are doing a great job teaching watergems. I have a question and would appreciate your answer. If I want to pump water into a ground storage tank, at what height should the feed pipe enter the tank? Is there any guidelines? Note that the water in the ground storage tank will also be pumped into a treatment plant from the other side of the inlet point.
Hello! You are pumping from which source? Borehole? Borehole to underground (buried in the ground) tank?
@@HydroinformaticsAcademy I am pumping from a surface storage tank to a concrete tank buried partially in the ground.
Thank you for the clear and helpful videos. But if you can help me and answer my question. In this video when you opened the scheme for the pattern what is the unit of the numbers in front of each crop is it (mm) for ETc??
I did not get exactly where you are referring to but from my experience, the common unit of measure for ETc is mm or mm/day! So if you are talking about ETc then the unit of measure is mm!
Thank you for replying At 3:35 monthly values for each crop it actually does not say it's ETc values but I assumed so.

Thank you for sharing the tutorials; your teaching is excellent. Do you have any tutorials on EPS (time analysis)? Additionally, do you have any guidance on importing our network and counters from AutoCAD (in DXF format) and elevating our component by those counters? thank you for your time
Thank you for your feedback 1. Speaking of EPS, actually this is one of the most fascinating topics in hydraulic design, i remember in 2021 I created around 40minutes tutorial on this topic but before I even started editing it my laptop was stolen and ever since I have not got any chance (if not mood) to recreate it! But in my one-to-one training, I normally cover it intensively! So maybe one day I will upload the tutorial or you can as well attend the training that I normally conduct! 2. Also about working with DXF files, I have not covered it yet but maybe I will cover it somewhere in the future🙏

Depends on where you are living and which design manual you are using. But normally, for dynamic pressure it ranges from 6mwc to 30mwc!

Please my watercad can't compute for pipes exceeding 10.what should I do?
I think you either need to upgrade or to make sure your network has only 10 pipes🙏
can we do something for pipes as well?
Watch this tutorial, with this you will get both nodes and pipes drawn directly on EPANET but you will need EPACAD and AutoCAD: ruclips.net/video/-i_0NsoPM5M/видео.html
How can I best model a system with multiple storage tanks? The storage tanks are different sizes and feed different regions of the site, even though they receive water from the same source. Should I just run a simulation with a single model that represents the volume of the water demand for the entire site?
I did not get you when you said "a single model". Well, IMO, I think the best way to model such a network is to run an EPS Model (Extended Period Simulation Model) and if it is a pumping project it is even easier! With EPS you can model how the tanks will respond to water demand fluctuations and how the chemical properties of water will change when water moves in the system!
If flow velocity comes out to be very less after after entering demand at each node , elevation etc,,, den wat to do? How to increase flow velocity
Hello! Please refer any friction loss formula, for example hazen williams, from that you will get an answer!
didnt use audio or even watch the vid, BUT, that converter works like a damn charm!
I would advise you to watch because maybe there are a few minor things that you might need when using Excel but nevertheless, I am glad that it helps you!
