Bruce Wayne will always be the one true Batman but Terry is a worthy successor. I prefer Terry to take up the mantle of Batman over the Robin's. I know Dick Grayson is the one true heir to the mantle but I like him better as Nightwing.

Oh give me a break! I hate Casca. She was a grown ass woman who got violated and loss her mind. While Gutz was a precious and innocent child and got betrayed by his adopted father and violated by a disgusting adult and it didn’t break his mind. He avenged himself. And removed himself from that toxic environment. Gutz was like just 8 to 10 years young when what happened to Casca happened to him but he endured it far better than Casca did.

Casca's worst nightmare was to be raped. She dodged it multiple times by fighting her way out. Femto/Griffith knew this and knew it was the best way to hurt Casca along with hurting Guts. Absolutely evil.

Terry may be a better hero than Bruce but i wouldn't exactly call him a better batman. As his skills don't surpass Bruce or even match him. He's not as good a detective as Bruce and as for his fighting skills there's still potential.

Terry is my favorite batman but I feel like comparing them always misses the point. Terry learns from Bruce to be batman but it's also learning from Bruce's failures as a person (not a hero) that lets him become the hero he is. And also lets Bruce be a better person. This moment is solidified at the end of Return of the Joker when Bruce tells him he's what makes the mask special not the other way around.

I just randomly started watching berserk 2016 without knowing anything about Berserk, then I read the manga from the beginning, I was like why would Guts even love a girl like casca then when I read I was like yeah that was pretty bad😔

Terry works better under Bruce's direction. He's smart, but to be Batman you need to be a genius.

Terry is what Bruce wanted Batman to be he is the better Batman and I feel like that’s what makes Bruce enjoy terry as Batman he isn’t the darkness anymore he is the beacon of light in the darkness a true hero

Probably my two favorite instances of Terry being more heroic than Bruce are: 1. In "Sneak Peek", when Terry tried to save the titular antagonist from falling to his death (or worse). Terry owed Peek nothing, he tried to ruin him and Bruce's lives for clout, and Terry still tried to save him, all the while Bruce was just making jokes and willing to let Peek suffer despite having gone out of his way to save _the Joker_ of all people multiple times. I know Peek killed Bruce's friend but his fate was overkill IMO. 2. In "Babel", when Terry went to fight Shriek while Bruce wanted him to just stay home because the people of Gotham were being a bunch of ungrateful sellout jerks. Terry says it himself that he didn't become Batman for gratitude; he does it because it's the right thing to do.

Great take. I hadn’t thought about it before, but you’re spot on. Terry isn’t a carbon copy of Bruce. He really is beyond Bruce. Probably not in combat or abilities, but in humanity and emotional stability. That said, OG Batman is still the Goat. TAS for life!

I was exposed to BTAS and Batman Beyond through VHS tapes my mom had bought for older siblings, and I always felt more connected to Terry. I only now understand the deep stories of both shows and the characters. Overall, I think Terry is better. Because he had the former Batman to help him. I recently read Neo Year, and it solidified to me that Terry is the best successor, because he can have that which Batman could never accept.

I fully agree Terry is a better and improved batman. He might not be the worlds best detective but he is resourcefull and creative and consitantly develops. I think he does not fall into the same pitfalls as Bruce and retains humanity. But at the same he still delivers what Batman is suppose to represent.

I think above all, it was a display of dominance. Then a fully knowledgeable/ devastating emotional blow for both Casca and Guts. That was MOTIVATED by his perceived betrayals from Casca and Guts’ relationship, and his blaming of his own downward spiral on Guts. A few other minor contributing factors would be how Griffith admits Guts was the only person to make him forget his dream. I think he assumed Casca was that person for Guts. And took her away from him in a way he’ll never forget. I think he was almost OBLIGATED to commit the most heinous act possible in front of the other God-Hand members. To “commemorate” his transition into his new form. I’d be willing to bet it fell into “The law of Causality.” It was unavoidable. Griffith is also getting what he thinks is revenge on Guts for his perceived slight in leaving the Band. And after blaming Guts for his downfall. Furthermore, remember when Griffith had that strange moment of almost obsession when he beat Guts and “claimed” him. “I own you now” “You will fight for me, and I will choose where you die.” Griffith is a greedy and ambitious person past all the intellect, charm, and grace. And we occasionally see glimpses of that in moments of great stress or excitement. But I think this is where Griffith finally lets go of the facade and reveals his true colors. Greedily and obsessively taking Casca while also torturing Guts. There’s so much more but this is all I got off the dome before I workout. Griffith was actively saying “I own you. Your mind, your body, your very soul. Even your woman. Is mine. You will always remember, and you will never think of anything else. When you die, I will be your reaper.”

Some people argue that Griffith didn’t r4pe her. And that the one who r4ped her was Femto. Is this accurate?

Griffith wanted to make guts to suffer and feel powerless. He couldn’t handle the fact that guts wasn’t hit property and he took the one thing he started to love and violated it.
