McDonalds Drive-thru 1980s
Просмотров 4,4 тыс.5 лет назад
A drive-thru experience at a McDonalds in Michigan in the mid-1980s. My grandparents were from the Netherlands and at the time the concept of a 'drive thru' there was completely alien, and uniquely American. The first drive-thru wouldn't open in Holland until years later. They thus took great pleasure in filming drive-thrus during their trip to Michigan in the 1980s.

Sail Amsterdam 700 was a massive gather of sail and other ships held to commemorate the 700th anniversary of Amsterdam in 1975. The event was so successful, it was decided to hold another Sail Amsterdam in 1980, and it has continued every five years since. Includes multiple tall ships and also the Dutch destroyer HNLMS Friesland, which was decommissioned in 1979. Please comment if you know the ...

West Berlin Mid-1960's.

West Berlin filmed in the mid-1960's. Berlin Wall. Brandenburg Gate. Reichstag. Victory Column. Soviet War Memorial. Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church.
the shooting was made definitely between 1975 -1978. The dating is based on the lack of tram rails (removed in 1973) and in the film i noted car platenumbers with UF letters which series came out in the later 70s, but the Pest bridg-head still has not received the traffic tunnel buit in 1978. So the periode I guess is 1975- 1977
Lake Balaton trip: M7 motorway at Budaörs, Szántód ferry station on the south shore, City of Tihany with the chuch/monastery on the north shore.
2:18 to 4:20 in Black & White and also staring at 6:22 in color -- Dunapark Étterem Restaurant, 13th district, Szent István Park & Pozsonyi út. It's still there, looking pretty much the same outside and inside.
6:42 ez az óbudai temető, nem?
Did the regime block TV and radio from Vienna?
They blocked (or distorted) Free Europe and America's Voice radio stations, both were Hungarian language broadcasts. Many people who spoke German, listened to the Vienna radio, but partly to listen to the news and mainly due to its high-quality classical music programs.
At 4:15 is the Pepsi logo on the back wall?
I used to drink many Pepsi😊 at this time no Coke. Better than ever 🎉
Ez biztos nem 1970., mert akkor még járt a villamos az Erzsébet hídon.
Ráadásul az algút még nincs kész.1973,74-es
I want to go back
Wow, Sears was still brick and stonework on the exterior. Before they covered it with sheet metal to make it look like a pole barn.
Beautiful footage. Was it originally shot on Super 8 film? I was 4 years old and living in Lansing at that time. Though I live in England now, it’s so lovely to see the streets I remember as a child.
As RK-vb1el said, the streetcar line on the bridge is already out of service (1973), but at 1:20 you can still see the tracks. These were removed in the summer of 1975. At 5:22 you can see the construction site of an ugly office building at Szent István Square, which was completed in 1974. So the footage is most likely from 1973.
The year I was born
This footage must have been made after 1972. Trams were running along Rákoczi street, crossing Erzsébet bridge until December 31, 1972 and there's no sign of them in this film.
I would say this is a 1973 and/or 1974 footage shot on Super 8mm B&W reversal film. My bet is for 1974. Definitely nothing to do with 1970. As for the color footage, based on its colors and granulation, I would say GDR ORWOCOLOR or USSR SOCHICOLOR Super 8 reversal stock.
What an ugly city Berlin had become
Danke für's hochladen
I miss the 80’s. A better time to be alive
The world is present go on 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
1974!
McDonald's French fries my favorite McDonald's French fries
Thank you for sharing this fantastic video. No doubt troubled time's. The men and women dressed so nicely. God bless them and Germany 🙏
не понимаю Сталина, почему он не разрешил даже на 10% сделать с немцами то, что они творили с беззащитными людьми в Советском союзе.... Немцы должны сделать Сталина святым, он просто их пощадил... а зря.
In this time, the Kurfürstendamm was a street with many movie theaters, today there are most of them gone.
2:13 The damaged old Emperor Wilhelm Memorial Church got the name "Hohler Zahn" = "hollow tooth". At this time, the tram wasn't abandoned yet.
2:07 Wittenbergplatz with the biggest department store, where you get anything, especially about groceries. So you find food, that you can't call groceries, because you may buy it for celebrations.
1:51 And this victory column got the name "Goldelse", what means "Golden Elsa"
1:25 The building got the nickname "Schwangere Auster" what means "Pregnant oyster"
0:14 I wonder what this tall frame behind (if looking from the West side) the Brandenburg Tor was built for. Did East Germans plan to build some construction for propaganda purposes over there?
What an ugly city it was
Licensing and enforcement
They have robots at McDonald’s I forth worth tx
RIP heiliges Deutschland ❤
Looks like it was shot on 16mm film! Much higher quality, and more expensive, than VHS.
Where in MI?
Wow, the roads were better in ‘84 than they are in 2022. 🤷♂️
They'd probably been recently paved, and haven't been since.
Im a Lansing Native till this day. I just buried my mom. She was born in 1948 but she moved here in 1978. I know she wouldve loved to see this video. Thank you
They survived the war well.
Interesting look back in the past. Looks familiar. 😃 I attended MSU And worked for the Michigan State Police.
Hi CW, this is great footage of Lansing. I'm currently creating a documentary on Lansing and would love to use this footage. Can you grant me permission to use it?
Have you finished your documentary, and is it here on RUclips?

Pretty good quality of the footage
Live 1980
WOW It's funny to imagine
1965 is my favorite Year i like it
10.9% APR financing, and presumably that was with GOOD credit.... yikes! And it's funny, I don't ever remember Sawyer's Pontiac having huge windows in the showroom like that, it was largely a cinder block building by the 90s when I remember being around it. Wonder why the change??
It's funny to imagine a time where this stuff was weird. Love this little time capsule video!
!!!
Very cool video!! Thanks for sharing
yo so at the 2 seconds mark you see a Story oldsmobile dealership. I currently live in his house where he died. Karl Story is his name
85' Lansing looked like California back then! L-Town looks like S*** today, Crack, the 90's, Bad education, corruption in public services an still continues to fall..
Look at the perfect condition of the street.
Yes it is.. Though it had that California look, so clean an nice.
Probably haven't been paved since.
