CHP FORD 427 DART SHP Stroker N/A before the ProCharger
Sounds like CHP is run by different personnel, then when I bought my 427W. When i received mine, the passenger side head was not torqued down. I called and the person from CHP said "We don't torque the heads" to which I replied "Then why was the driver's side head torqued".
205 heads would be much better. 185 are way too small
Well the original ecu work with a 347 stroker?
Suprised the cam peaked at that high rpm. I was expecting 5300 or so
Awesome video, thanks guys, trying to deliberate on a 408 combo currently.
Im guessing you guys aren’t in business anymore. Judging from your outdated website.
Yup sorry bud . That is all at full throttle . Very impressed though
I understand it’s it’s an old post , but ya did an outstanding job presenting
What I see is that you need to update your computer equipment it is so slow it's pathetic
peak tq at 5200.. too many build for high performance/race and not daily/truck which most(?) probably need
Roughly how much more power would the 185 heads be worth?
That wouldn't happen to be the 224455-12 or the 224455-09 would it.
damn that's mild lol? I thought mild would be around 400-450 lol
Truck motor
I appreciate the information fellas. I'm considering a 408 stroker motor for my 1990 Mustang.
I need a motor built please. How do I get ahold of you guys????
I need one, how much
Impressive horsepower and torque at a good RPM level!
Beautiful
Great engine Ford powered forever baby keep on pulling the knot out of them boties and the horns off them mopars l love it
Well this pretty much convinced me there's basically no reason to port my GT40 lower intake with my AFR 165's on my current stock bottom end build. It didn't even gain much with more cubic inches that would obviously want more air than my 302. It did carry that peak power out to higher RPM but I think i'll just leave it un-ported and save some $ there. If i ever go 331 with a rebuild eventually that Systemax looks like just the ticket, great intake.
Man. I'm itching to do a build.
You guys around still?
😂hi there what roughly was the comp ratio looking to build something very similar in Australia cheers
Crazy numbers for a small cam
Are they still in business?
Im building a 302 with a 331 stroker kit do u think the icon pistons sent with the kit will hit the valves in the twisted wedge 170 heads
A pump-gas engine with a hydraulic roller making 620 horsepower is stout. Nicely done.
So this motor will pass smog in ca?
apparently, depends on what year car you put it in, sounds like anything pre 92 93?
I want a built 351w for my foxbody but this would be a good 2nd option
It’s crazy how good the factory LS3 intake is. Those engineers knew what was up.
yes really difficult to know the piston speed acceleration curve the maximum air flow required - its not difficult to do when you have a next to unlimited budget with all the toys
What do you call a small cam?
What cc AFR 205 heads would you recommend for a 408w daily driver build ? 58cc or 72cc AFR 205’s ? Thanks
Stout
Factory intake no slouch even on 9-1 comp and best on Streeters. Other stuff is hi comp racer related for those seeking last bit of hp , really not much of bang for buck.
What kind of power do you think this engine would make if the cam had 292/300 duration with 600 lift and a victor jr intake?
Are those @50 specs?
All this high dollar stuff! Let's face it, a cheap 393 on gas dollar for dollar? If you just wanna put a grin on ur face, all that high dollar crap is for the guys that wanna brag about the money they spent! Put the money in the heads and cam! If it pukes, screw it, have spare blocks!
Cam dur.?
I’m building a 408w and have a 11:1 comp what can i need
You will certainly feel the extra 100 lb/ft of torque!
My 2008 Honda Accord has a K24Z3 engine and the compression ratio is 10.7 :1 . Is that high ? And should I be running higher octane fuel??
I could watch Ford 5.0 based videos ALL day long!! I'm happy to see that CHP is still heavily involved in the old pushrod 5.0 Windsor engine! I still can't bring myself to convert to the overhead cam based engine. I like the brute off idle on up torque that pushrod engines deliver.
Have the same plenum for a 306 build in my van. Have you advanced the cam for that power band? If you have by how much. I'm using software to look at if I should advance my cam or not... I'm wondering if the long runner plenum is just inherently putting the peaks at 3600 or if its advanced. Would really help me out to know. I have around a 3000 stall converter so it would be a major bummer to move the torque too low to miss it. Then again depending on where it will happen to stall it may lower it a couple hundred with 4 degrees and put it exactly in a sweet spot.
Michael j foxx ported those babies 😆
why do all the other performance guys give out the cam specs but coast doesnt, just curious,,,
because its probably an RV cam barely a 3/4. in single pattern id guess .460 with 260 adv and 210ish @ .050 probably a 114 lsa. Ive seen that lower intake ported out to near mid 200 CFM on the number 1 runner.. If the GT40s were also ported proper they also offer well over 200 cfm on intake... meaning @ 2 hp per CFM this thing would easily be a 400 + hp engine. I know that the intake wasn't ported properly because its still peaking at 4900 ( as the long runner is made to make low end and it obviously has plenty of that ) . IF it were ported properly and even epoxied at the cross sectional area near the injector site it would have increased the peaks to like 5200ish but also with more CFM making more power. Judging by the stock throttle body ( which could also very well be ported ) I have a feeling that someone provided the "ported parts" which very well could have meant gasket matching and not the good 40 hour of each piece it truly takes to do the job right. I see so many "ported" E7 this or that and the car or truck is making not the rwhp it should be. If youre making over 200 CFM with the right camshaft should be over 400 hp ... yes the long runner is a limiting factor and not to say that 350 / 425 is anything to scoff at especially with a high stall converter if AOD. BUT this combo at the same time could possibly produce 380/390 with the right camshaft on a 302!!! so why go through the trouble of a stroker? Oh well.
always curious what the correction factor is.. that secret button "under the table"...
Would you say that cam is close to z303 and x303
well thanks for throwing us a Bone ,but do you have any idea just how many early broncos / Bigger broncos/ f150/ f250s are out there with 302/351 w/,we are asking for a real life everyday cams,210/228/ duration,490s/525s lift ,110/112 lsa,,this is what we call a smaller cam not 240/600,,thanx a bunch
What was the cam lift?
Think it’d be hard to build one and put in a Ford Ranger?
