Hi Kym, I'm a year and a half away from retirement and also trying to slow down, but not so slow like the slow living channels...I'm like "just dump the flour in the bowl already!!!" 😂🤣 Having two cats, Frankie & Providence I don't feel safe lighting my oil lamps, so I light tea lights in containers, but not just a few, I counted the other day and I have 14😮😲!!! It takes 20 minutes to light them all. Part of my slowing down is not having so much stuff. I'm also a type A so I'm learning to not feel guilty to just sit for an hour to read a novel. I tell you the struggle is real!!! Loved this video it really spoke to me.

Hi Kym, this is such a good video and very much speaks to my state of mind regarding this, I realise that stopping to smell the roses is everything but not as easy to achieve as it sounds I'm still learning but determined to make that statement mean something. You look amazing today!! It's nice to spend some time on yourself and wear something you like that's not just easy or practical for a change. Looking forward to the upcoming videos 😊. I love this video Kim, it spoke right to my heart!! Growing up when we did it was a work based era. At least my growing up years no playing outside or with dolls until all of our work was done. Now my childhood was great but thats how we lived. So I carry that on in my adult life. I have to have all the laundry done and dishes and whatever else before I relax. I often feel like I'm failing because at the end of the day I look around and think what have I done with this day. I sure don't see anything. Hugs

I never thought of myself as a A type personality, but I've very much a goal driven person. Every day I ask my husband what his goal of the day is! I recently hurt my knee and was wheelchair bound for awhile and it drove me crazy! I cried to my husband I can't just do nothing.! Luckily, I'm back on my feet and don't want to take for grant my mobility again.

I had to look at the name because I thought "did I already comment on this?", lol! I’m 74 and in July I got a torn meniscus and I have had arthritis in my knee so the orthopedic dr recommended knee replacement but I said No! I do not want to go through that pain as I had a hip replacement 6 years ago and no more! Anyway, in August my husband set up my mini mobile kitchen that I can use with the wheelchair. I do use the walker too and can take some small steps but that will increase my pain. I am very thankful that I do have the upper body strength to help with my chores or activities. I canned quite a few jars of Hatch chile when it was available. I have been canning beef stew, pinto beans and potatoes using both the wheelchair and walker. On Monday I made 3 dozens of tamales, dehydrated rice and now mixed vegetables. I do not think I will get better so I make do and do what I can because that’s the only choice I can make other than stay in bed all day. I am definitely a Type A and my current circumstances has given me much time to contemplate about my future and all the projects I thought I could do. I am slowly accepting that it is difficult to be type A as I accept my limited mobility. A lot of planning to lessen my pain is what I am working on now and have my portable coffee set up near me. I recently had my husband bring in my portable bucket toilet (I use it only to pee in) and have it right next to my bed as many times I don’t go to the bathroom to avoid that pain. It is what it is and it’s up to us to choose how to continue with what life throws at us.😊

I have always been optimistic and very rarely have depression but this situation had me dangling over the precipice of depression but I had to snap out of that! By being very thankful for what I can still do, even with modifications on my part, yanked me back to reality! Thank God and for His continued Blessings for my strength and for the creative ideas He gives me!🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

Thank you for this. I find myself a type B personality with one type A trait...I find I'm impatient when I want things done. The definitely a type B. I have always been one to make things mesh with everyone even if it isn't always in my best interest. At 65, I can say, "I've learned things and people the hard way. As far as my cell phone, l love watching Utube. It's how I found you. When I go out I have my phone but I don't open it. I use it for if I'd need to call somone if I have car issues. I need to go out and disconnect with the media and be in the moment.
