Never reuse what you drain out. That's just defeating the purpose of changing the filter. Pouring junk right back into a new filter. Just put clean fresh fuel in it.
Everyone mechanic has is own way of doing things, I really do appreciate this video,as I am a mechanic on all types of diesel engines, base here in Nigeria were I come from, pls currently looking for opportunity over there to do such Jobs, many thanks
I definitely would have drained all the fuel to get the dirt from the bottom. Clean the dirt out and reuse the good fuel.. Wouldn't have done it this but it works this way as well..
One. Drain intire fuel housing. Check for dirt, or metal filings at bottom of housing. At sometime in the trucks life you will find, small aluminum shavings, which will indicate a fuel pump could be going bad. Clean and reassemble, using new fuel. Never use the old fuel.
Thank you for taking time to showing us (regular driver) how to change filters on the truck **, This will help us out by not standing in line for hours at the truck stop waiting hours at which take less that 15-30 minutes if done correctly!! Be honest with you this the first time I ever look at a video *** Keep up the good work!!!! GOD BLESS
How low should the diesel stay? I recently changed the fuel filter but diesel is to low. I've also noticed that the truck shakes from side to side when its cold and it goes away 1 minute later

DO NOT DRAIN THE ENTIRE BOWL. You'll lose prime.

Sounds like a check valve issue. Did you fix it?
