Very good suggestions and fun little knits!
Nordsjø is pronounced "nor-shuh", if you care to know 🙂 it means north sea in Norwegian (which is a really apt name for that sweater!).
ah very interesting thank you! I will try to say it properly from now on.. sadly I just finished filming a new video where I now Know I miss pronounced it haha
What would you call the colour of your shirt?
Im not sure cobalt blue, but this is the yarn I used for it! www.estelleyarns.com/items/5562
Wow, i love the colors you are choosing. The November jacket goes so well with your skin tone, and the color of the cumulus tee really brings out your eye color!
Thank you so much! I’m glad the colors are working for me! it is all thanks to TikTok and that color theory trend for a while back! hehe
OMG I have just discovered your channel and have been actively looking for exactly this type of pattern(EVEryday Lilac Sweater) for months and months - I am new to knitting garments year two and am waiting not so patiently for you to release this marvel. It is very unique and does not appear to be complicated. I am so sick of patterns with picking up a zillion stitches and just plain making more work for ourselves… and the ribbing on the neck blending down the sleeve is so classic and lovely. Please will it be soon I am trying to count the number of stitches on the neck to get a head start -as I said I have been looking for ages for exactly this beauty - You are a fabulous inspiration to this classic eyecatcher - Regards from Georgia in BC
I can imagine your choice of fibres made the plying quite challenging! My advice to someone trying chain plying is to start with a strong smooth single. You did great!
100% agree with you my choice of fibre was not the best for this first attempt. but I since it was my first attempt how could I have known hahah.😊💖
Where did you purchase your cone?
I bought it at Kensington prairie farm when I visited them 2 years ago for the annual alpaca wool sheering 🌻😊
Another excellent video!...your videos are such a treat to watch...You can knit absolutely anything!.....and I'm glued to the spinning.......thank you for making these videos...they truly are the best...Happy New Year from Nova Scotia ❤
Aw thanks so much! That means a lot! Happy Holidays & New Year to you too! 💖😊
Please don’t give the peach sweater away. The color seems to bring out the coral/peach tones of your cheeks. It’s really nice on you. 😊
Haha I know, It’s a great fit too! im just stubborn, and wish it was slightly paler, or maybe not warm or orange.. idk 💖
Awesome babbles and round up of projects! Thanks for showing off your new spindle. I hear you with the Melly batts, I think there is magic in them.
Thank you. Love your podcasts ❤
Thanks! I really enjoy making them 💖😊
Just found you…. Was wondering when you said you had alpaca on a cone for your knits - where did you buy your yarn supplies - thank you G in BC
I got it at a farm I visited Kensington prairie farm 2 years ago, they had an annual alpaca sheering in the spring, I'm not sure they make it anymore, but I am planning on getting another lace weight cone when ever I see one, I've seen them in store and craft fares before. This works so well!.
Every time you wear your November Jacket I fall in love with it again. That, and your self made purple sweater, are my two favourite things that you've knit I understand your feelings about the colour, I'm super pale too and I'm not sure I could wear it. FWIW I think it's a refreshing shade on you, but you could do a super diluted dye bath on it to change the tone. Pink maybe? You'd have to test a sample of the yarn to see what looks good. It'd be a better option than giving it away because that jacket was made for you Edit: oooh you referenced my comment about the folded hem. I'm famous now 😂
Name of scarf? Can’t find it on ravelry. Please I love this 🩷
its the rad plaid cowl, I changed the color selection around. and put the white as my main color
Even if you don't do a full garment in the single strand of the alpaca lace, it would be cool to see swatches of 1 strand, 2 strands, 3 strands, 4 strands, etc
what a great idea! yeah I can totally try that out just for fun
❤🌈🧶
❤🌈🧶
Love these❤ I have an injured hand so I'm not able to knit, and I really miss it.
ohhh noo, ive had to step away from knitting before too, for my wrist, and it was hard, Knitting is so relaxing. Hope you feel better, and can get back to it soon!
can you share where you got the single lace weight yarn for the cumulus blouse and other sweater. the fact that you said it is more sturdy makes me want to try it.
I got it at a farm I visited Kensington prairie farm 2 years ago, they had an annual alpaca sheering in the spring, Im not sure they make it anymore, but I am on the lookout for other lace weight cones now, cause this works so well!.
I was just thinking I have nothing to watch while knitting. So glad you uploaded this!
Please explain the back yoke. The chart shows 2 "diamonds" but you have about 4 on yours. I'm doing size xl
I know this was posted a month ago so you probably figured it out, but YOU clearly want to make the Korshavn. My thought is: go ahead and try the Korshavn. You already have the pattern, and you really want to do it. If it isn't coming out like you want it, go for the Braidy Loop. I also want to say just about everyone who made the Book Club cardigan says that they needed way more yarn than the pattern says so just in case you want to make it in the future, get lots of extra yarn! Also, that yarn is STUNNING. Excellent job!
Thanks! You're right, I really do want to make the Korshavn, which I'm pretty sure I ended up finding another perfect yarn for it! since yeah I do fear the beautiful stitch work will be lost with the fuzz of the Gotland wool. Also Thanks for the info on the Book Club cardigan 🌺💖
Oh I love turkey so so much! I've worked in Bodrum and Antalya and I love everything about it. People, food, energy, weather! I enjoyed your episode as well, thanks a lot and Merry Xmas!
yes! Turkey is amazing! Bodrum is actually where I spent the first part of my trip. I hope to go back next year or soon! Happy Holidays!
Honestly I’m surprised that the rolled hem isn’t an intentional part of the pattern. Most patterns I’ve seen with straight Stockinette edges have the pattern pics with rolled hems because that’s just what Stockinette does (and also why most patterns I knit have lace or ribbed edges)
The shirt does make you finish with an icord to help the rolling, and it worked for the sleeves here, but not as much for the body it seems. wearing it has helped tho!
❤🌈🧶
Your top turned out beautifully! On a side note, I need to know how you store your needles! That needle case is gorgeous! Where did you get it??
I got It at a local fibre convention last year, it handmade. I found this seller online, www.urbanyarns.com/needle-books-by-edna/?srsltid=AfmBOorE1gVpMQbPE3AG8PcFbWCLpeQAkEiV56xuFdB4-dfTODOO0pQx
it looks so gorgeous, eve! I think it’s so funny I was recommended to rewatch the elizabeth blouse vlog a few days ago and then this yarn saga continues! you make me want to get a ginormous cone of a lovely yarn. my sincere condolences to your needles in that turkey airport, that sucks! also my icord on my cumulus blouse (not tee) flared & rolled really bad at first because I did not decrease every 4th icord row, once I did that it fixed the rolling! not sure if the tee pattern is the same. it looks beautiful, love this color on you 💙
I want to get another one of these! or maybe some other type of lace fibre to hold together cause its worth it! oh and good Idea for the rolling Ill give the pattern another look, I'm not sure what i did hahah it was late at night when I worked the icord
❤🌈🧶
❤🌈🧶
its looks lovely
Thank you!!🤍
It's absolutely beautiful ❤️ I'd like to make this but I'm a bit of a newb...would changing the hem to a folded hem resolve the rolling issue?
what a great Idea I didn't think of that! I will try and wear it a couple of times see if it gets better, and If not I will rip that back and do the folded hem. Thank you!!
@knittingwitheve I feel so clever now 😂
I’m always worried that airport security might take my knitting needles, but I love knitting on flights. I pack wooden needles in my carry-on, thinking they might draw less attention on the x-ray scanner compared to metal ones. So far, I haven’t had any issues. Much love from Turkey!🤗
good idea on the wooden or bamboo needles.
It really does depend on the person working at the xray machine, I flew with Turkish airline 4 times in that trip and only 1 airport didn't let me go though with them, They refused all needles, even wooden or crochet hooks cause they were " pointy" or "you could technically stab someone with them." The guy really didn't want to hear about anything and just threw them out, he was pretty rude... But yeah wooden needles are usually easier to travel with. its frustrating but you can never be 100% sure the needles will make it though at least that flight was just 1h.. so not a long one at all,
❤🌈🧶
❤🌈🧶
Wonderful plans! I will be excited to see the progress 🤎
me too! 💖😊
I can't help but chuckle when you call a 2021 pattern 'old'. Makes me feel ancient 😂 ❤
ahhh mee too! I just blame it on Instagram culture and how it pushes the newer patterns at me, making anything in the past years feel old!😂💙
❤🌈🧶
❤🌈🧶
❤🌈🧶
I am knitting the jenny jacket v neck right now and it is actually a top down construction! Maybe that‘s of interest for your decision to buy the pattern 😊
You’re right, I hadn’t considered the top-down construction, I forgot! Thanks ! 😄
d'accord nanabella007 😊
I find it so funny/weird that we keep saying "it looks store bought" or "like something you could buy at a store" as if that was the pinnacle of perfection. But when you think about it, hand made garments used to be the norm and even these days, handmade bespoke clothing is the ultimate luxury. And on the flip side I often feel like the quality, cut and fit of store bought garments is less and less these days. So i hope we get to a place where we can unabashedly celebrate our labors of love for all their glory and not compare them to some mass produced products that often don't even fit right.
I totally get your point, but I feel like it’s more of a compliment. Handmade pieces absolutely deserve to be celebrated for all the care and love that goes into them. and that’s why I knit! I love the craft. 💖😊 When I say (and I’m assuming here what others mean too lol), 'it looks store-bought,' it’s usually meant as a compliment about how polished it looks. A lot of non knitters might associate homemade/handmade with that unfinished, rustic fun look umm, or very chunky, uneven stitches. So, it’s more a way of saying it’s so professional and highquality that it could belong in a high end store or even a be in a museum. I’m not referencing the mass produced sweaters or Zara fast fashion. it’s more like, 'Wow, was that even knit?!' wow factor But yeah, I’ll take handmade over anything else!!
I’m guessing we get a dagmar vest maybe next hehe. Also I have heard at least two other podcastsers mention the awkward bulky bubble sleeve vibe so I think there’s something to it
ouu!! you might be onto something, she has made vests for some of her other knit designs!
