    I was just rereading the Spider-Man Noir series and hearing that Nicholas Cage doesn't want to hurt people is a little disappointing. In the miniseries he definitely kills people. He shoots them knowing exactly what he's doing. It makes him different from the traditional Spider-Man in a way I definitely enjoy.

      Actors no matter how popular, shouldn't be able to convince the director to change the character or story. This typically happens with young inexperienced directors who haven't grown a pair yet & can't stand up to the big star. I remember how Sly Stallone insisted on taking his helmet off in "Judge Dredd", and yet the character in the comic is never shown with his helmet off. In the reboot "Dredd", Karl Urban kept the helmet on the entire film. Karl is a professional.

    I watched Iron Giant years after it came out and really enjoyed it. I would watch it again. Ready Player One was a good movie because of the nostalgia. If not for that I don’t think it would be worth watching. Thanks for the talk.

    • @2OldGeeksTalking
      @2OldGeeksTalking 16 дней назад

      You bring up a good point about nostalgia being the reason some films are worth rewatching. They take us back to a place or time in our life. I think collecting is the same, a comic, a toy or a lunchbox, reminds us of something we had as kids or wanted and couldn't afford at the time.

  • @williamwebb8216
    @williamwebb8216 16 дней назад

    I never saw it until I had small children in my 30s. I agree with Trace. Not great for me, but they loved it. But there is a message in it. I did get it. These days, CG is much easier and faster to produce than actual animation. Plain skinned especially. As far as voice over, actors I get that too. It's more for the adults and makes us look smart to the kids. IE; Shrek. Hey Donkey is Professor Crump or hey Shreck is Austin Powers... Great show guys, as always

    • @2OldGeeksTalking
      @2OldGeeksTalking 16 дней назад

      Animation is so much easier now with computer technology. Comic book art is the same, with most being done on "Clip Studio Paint" in a fraction of the time. Real voice actors, not celebrities who dabble in it, are getting more attention now than ever. Most comic con guest announcements in 2024 are voice actors and the lines for their autographs are as long as the actors.

    • @2OldGeeksTalking
      @2OldGeeksTalking 26 дней назад

      I like anthology stories as well. All tales don't have to be these huge epics. I know quite a few books, films and series that were full of filler, that were obviously added just to reach a certain length, when they would have been better served just to tell the story they needed and then end it.... every song doesn't need to be "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida". Sometimes short and sweet gets the job done.

      That's what was great about old MTV, you could watch it or just listen. So many of those first videos are iconic now. I brought some up on RUclips for my 6-year-old daughter and she was mesmerized. She liked KISS and Sinead O'Connor, best. Old MTV certainly was better than that brain rotting TikTok crap.

    What a tragedy about MTV. If you guys waited for it to air as we did. It felt like it to forever to come on. 1st video aired was Video Killed the Radio Star.

      When MTV originally aired, it was a game changer in media. I feel like if they had released on disk and maybe even had an hour-long show called "MTV Retro", that had old uncut footage from the 80's, it would have served Paramount better. Paramount is in financial trouble, actually selling stuff off the lot. Paying the price for poor decisions.

    The new Hellboy trailer, looks like they are leaning into the horror aspect of the character.

      I watched the trailer after the video, since Rob mentioned it. Mike Mignola, the creator of Hellboy wrote the story, so it may be good. The dude playing Hellboy does look a bit beta.

    I'm happy Gina won.but Disney having a dating app for certain IPs is just stupid Traci.

      @2OldGeeksTalking 3 месяца назад

      Gina has a ways to go yet, Disney will try to tie it up in the courts for years longer, but in the end, they will pay, and everyone knows it, including them. Yes, a Disney dating app, is goofy.

    I'm late to this one but I wanted to say great job on the editing. It was really cool to see clips from the films while you were talking about them. This was very well done!

    I have seen Troops and Logan the wolf, but have you heard of Star Wars Theory?

    • @2OldGeeksTalking
      @2OldGeeksTalking 3 месяца назад

      Yes sir, "Star Wars Theory" is a RUclipsr who has made some fan films himself. Vader Ep1 & Vader EP2....loved how he brought back Mace Windu in the later. I always loved that character & believed he survived the fall in " Revenge of the Sith".

    Fun Fact: The Disney Star Wars sequels are some of the most expensive fan films made, costing over a billion dollars to make. 😀 Unfortunately, they weren't written well enough to make our list. 🤣

    Good talk guys! Yes it is pretty sad to say I won’t support Star Wars considering I’m a white male and apparently that makes me the enemy. Once again I’d ask Disney to make an original IP instead of using an existing one to promote their woke bs ideologies. When will They learn that when your main selling point is your current sexual preference or political affiliation will not sell your already alienated 1/2 your audience

      The writing in some shows, like in ''the Acolyte'' are comical, without trying to be. Good writing does still exist, ''Wednesday'' & ''Fallout'' are fantastic. Thanks for purchasing my book, give a review on Amazon after you finish it and be brutally honest. I'm a big boy and I can take it.

      I remember a time when Disney represented the pinnacle in quality family entertainment. It's a shame they have abandoned that, for whatever this is they have become. You are one of the biggest most loyal Star Wars fans, I know. So, if you say it's hot garbage....it must be.
