Hi, whats the difference between the mame im using and wolfmame?.

@@mp-ng8dq I think they fixed the speed, the early versions of Mame were slightly out, and you can't pause when recording. What version are you using now? Also, your screen seems very squashed, it should be wider. The monsters go slower sideways compared to when they are going up or down. How many attempts did it take you to get the million on one man? Get the latest version of Wolfmame. It will fix these problems for you.

@@richardmarsden6541 Hi, thanks for the info, im using an old version 0.84u3...so obviously they have made improvements since then, the only reason i alter the screen aspect ratio is purely because it looks better to me, and i never use pause as i would lose the flow and rhythm of the game when im on the fast levels, i also did it on mame version .168 with the different colour pallette on hard second attempt, but the save file was a MGN and no sound. Bit miffed, so i then did it on hard on the old version, within probably half a dozen attempts. I first started playing DO back in 1984 in the arcades, thats where i learned the game mechanics inside out, i hadnt really played it for years, i saw the DO vids on youtube and that kind of inspired me to have a practice and do a vid. If i get wolfmame will i need to get different roms as well?.

@@mp-ng8dq No, I don't think you'll need a new rom if you can play with .168. It did change at some point, but I don't know when exactly. I've seen a few retro games on youtube, and they have been tool assisted, so the wolfmame recording makes it a bit more legitimate. Otherwise it just looks like another fake game. @@richardmarsden6541 Well that was an eye opener to say the least!. so that was TAS, the gameplay does look extraordinary though. So i can understand how people think when they watch certain vids. At the end of the day what's the point, ive got no qualms about doing it on a emu so that people would know its legit even though it is legit, I tried starting the recording when i was in the dip settings menu to show there was no cheats available but unfortunately it only records game footage. When you break my gameplay down its nothing out of the ordinary. You seem really knowledgeable about mame, is there a version like wolfmame with a more usable front end? (for me) without having to use dos commands..ive tried it on .168 and i cannot get it to work. just so i could record in avi. The emulation is bang on, although i know that version doesn't have cheat detection etc, so some people will still think fake, any advice will be appreciated.
