My job is impossible to explain to people not in the TV business. This video should take care of that.
Thanks a lot, Michael. I recently did similar tests with Cloudflare stream and their WHIP server. This are exciting tools for me. Looking forward to watching your next videos.
another webcam that looks like a webcam
You're not going to get broadcast quality at this price point, but it looks good.
Thank you for this. I had NO idea this could be done. Doing some vMix SRT research and came across you! This will help so much! Sometimes I have issues with NDI but now using SRT to communicate... this opens up sooooooooo many options. Tha ks man! Officially subscriber 614 😊
OBS can receive SRT video as well. I'll do another video on that.
Tail Air looks like a game-changer in the AI tracking camera space. Love the attention to detail in the unboxing experience
Thanks. Tracking is very nice.
Hi, i downloaded the tool and after installation it starts up. But all the NDI sources don't show up to select. Do you might know were i am going wrong. Thanks!
If you are not using multicast, NDI sources should auto discover using the mDNS service. You should start by installing the fee NDI tools package, then use studio monitor to see available sources. If NDI sources are missing in studio monitor, then there is something on the network blocking mDNS traffic, many WiFi access points will do this by default.
Very helpful, and skillfully made easy! Just trying to force all of my ever expanding home NDI sources over my 10 Gbe multimode network, and running a discovery server on the final encoder/recorder/streamer box has been a challenge. My production vMix switcher has 2 ethernet, and one SFP+ network, and a mind of its own!
It’s all about routing and subnets, and unfortunately NDI doesn’t make it easy. With NDI 5 you can at least set a preferred interface.
I'm trying to figure out how to do this for a regular circle key in the lower left corner of the screen showing my camera over my computer screen. For the life of me I can't figure it out.
How is your video on running vmix in AWS? Any progress? Thanks
Hi! Great tutorial! Unfortunately I can make it work within local network, but I cannot with the public IP. Can you or anyone help me with this?
tell your broadband operator to give (SNAT IP) (srt://snat ip or public IP:port)
how would you move the video inside the mask if the vmix caller does not sit in the centre and I have to adjust it on the fly?
Great tutorial! I’m just having a hard time understanding the benefit of using the discovery server. Thanks
Discoverey server is a benefit of your network does not allow multicast or mDNS.
Hi. I'm interested. Do I need prior knowledge on AWS. I have worked on Vmix.
It’s funny to think how quickly stream decks have taken this over
Right?? Next tutorial will be how to do this with Central Control Web Panel, controlled with a streamdeck
The Black-Level Scope was requested by a colleague of mine. He needs to match the black-level of multiple cameras and this scope is just a zoomed-in version of the RGB-Waveform that helps setting the black-levels of the camera to a uniform value. You can also see if the blacks are slightly shifted towards a certain color and correct for this.
Thanks a lot for showcasing my tool ❤❤
Thanks for building it! I needed something like this for a while. Also, the black level display makes a lot more sense. Potential feature request, a jitter scope to monitor incoming frame timing over a specific duration.
Thanks for that, Michael!
Hi, coming a bit late but yeah, sure , please do! and I would be very interested in how would you set up a intercomm remote system...any hint on that? Thanks!
Idem. I have just tried to full in the form but it does not work anymore. Happy to do a remote teaching.
Hi, thanks for the tutorials. Can SRT work when OBS and Vmix computers are on different networks?
Yes it can. If the machine is behind a firewall, you will need to forward the proper port to the listener machine on your router.
This is great, been looking for it. Can it work when OBS and Vmix are on different networks?
Thanks for making this easy. I have been wondering what the discovery server was. Now I know. I'm looking forward to seeing if this can help resolve some issues.
Thank you for posting this! I've been using PTT in Discord to talk to my talent, but It uses more of their network than I'd like, and is always "All Call".
Do you have the reference for the background video you are using, I have been looking for it but cant find anything
Yes please!!!
yes please 🙏
i got 2 ptz camera in my church ,but am getting no ndi inputs into vmix .....
Thanks Mike. useful and clear. I hope to see more of your tutorials soon
thanks, got it running in less than the video lenght. would have never thought of searching SDK for the discovery service. i mean seriously what is NDI thinking. at the very least you would expect it either seperate download or within tools asside from i cant think of a reason why its needed in the first place. and if we go this route why not a windows service.....argh... imagine building a professional envoiroment like this, with random shells scrit started resposible for connectivity.... jeeez
I wish you would explain how to do the port forwarding and that side of you seeing SRT. Getting your public IP address. I have Google Fiber and no real router to speak of. It is a mesh and apparently the port forwarding is on my phone. If you can point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it. Thank you for your video.
into it!
Yes please
Looking Forward
Hi, great video. The problem I have is that, when OBS finishes to stream to vMix (i.e.: the live stops), vMix goes on streaming for ever, instead. Is there a way to stop vMix stream as well?
My question as always. Please this is a major factor so what is the solution to this question
Great tutorial, Mike. I'm working on something right now that I might ping you about soon.
Glad you liked it! Sure thing...you know where find me
Really interesting, Michael. Thanks a lot.
Did you do the other way around? Streaming from vMix to OBS?
Yes you can. Turn on SRT ouptut in vMix, and set to "Caller" with the IP of your vMix machine. In OBS > Add a "Media Source", uncheck "local file" and set enter this for the source: "srt://%ip:%port%?mode-listener'" Change IP and Port to your OBS machine, and you can receive an SRT feed. You'll need to forward the port through your firewall to your OBS machine.
This may be stupid question but how do you do this without a sound card? Im assuming a sound card is some sort of external device. What if I’m trying to do this with just a pc?
Bad Audio unfortunately
unfortunately my old headset mic wasn't the greatest. Check out my newer videos, audio has improved greatly.
In order to do this you need to also send all other hosts to Bus C and Bus A also?
Clean approach to telling it the way things can be Michael. Thank you.
Can you also map multiple banks? Like tracks 1-8, switch, tracks 9-16, switch, tracks 17-24...
I would like to know this too.
What method are you using to pass your microphone and MIDI to the cloud instance?
i'm using Teradici Remote desktop software with my AWS instances. Automatically passes the default system microphone to remote device
@@tvguy2 Nice. That works well for director mic, but a lot of my productions involve virtual audio cables and routing in/out of other programs, something that I can't seem to figure out how to do on a remote instance.
@@marshall409 VB-audio cable works well on a remote machine, we use it all the time. However, our preferred method of routing audio around in the cloud is NDI.
Can i use udp in custom stream settings??
But in external ip means out of the network how much latency will it be ?
Hi nice
If you have multiple guests how are you sending return feed back to them?
They would also be on OBS and use your external IP along with port you set and load that into the media source on their end. As long as you're streaming, they can view it.
Thank you very much. Very helpful.
great, thanks!
Hi, what is the audio controller on your desktop
behringer x-touch compact
Will the faders on the x-touch adjust position when I change between projects in my DAW?
yes, the x-touch compact supports flying faders
Great video! Thanks!
Glad you liked it!
