I wound up having a really twisted dream about this series. I was Commander Shepard, but I never get to see the aftermath, every time I dealt the final blow, I was waking up to a younger, different face in the mirror. Sometimes seedy, my hands covered in blood. Sometimes pristine, voices in the corridor. It was like groundhog day, but worse. I was always me, but always a different me. Like I was living every playthrough on a loop. I'd meet the teams, again, and again. Know them love them. Smooth scales under my fingers, the angular mandible brushing my hair, the way Miranda's hair smelled as she snuggled on the couch in the fortieth or fiftieth version of the citadel apartment. I kinda hope Shepard doesn't go through that.

Jokes on Shepard, Kaidan was 100% correct in everything he said - Cerberus was targeting colonies to lure collectors (so in a twisted and ironically non-sensical way, they were working together); they were manipulating Shepard & despite everything eventually she was deemed dispensable.

I had no idea they had lines for Shepard’s death

I know he uses the same inflection for every squadmate, but Jacob's first "Grunt's down?!" got me 😆 He just sounds so panicked. "They downed _Grunt??_ Now we're screwed for sure"

The first time I heard Jack’s “if I die, I’m haunting you Shepherd” line I thought she said I’m hotter than you Shepherd 😂

The Council is either stupid or just poorly written. They recognize that Sovereign was a Reaper after you save them, but go into full blown denial in the second game and remain stupid in the third by worrying about their own homes instead of working together. Other than getting Destiny’s Ascension as a war asset, I see absolutely no point of saving them at the end of ME1. Shepard’s Renegade option is correct - The Council was useless in the fight against Saren, Sovereign & the geth. All they did was hold all efforts back and look for excuses

Til I read the novels, I never picked up on this! At 1:22 Brooks mentions medi-gel making her jumpy, and earlier she said she used the whole “thing”. A tube or whatever its dosages in. Games dont mention it, but novels do - high doses of medi-gel will make you pass out. It’s been stated times and times again that one has to be super careful with medi-gel. It’s even mentioned that suits characters wear are equipped with slow release of the substance to avoid negative side-effects. Something Shepard, Kaidan and Garrus at the very least should know, having military background & far more similar physiology than, say, Shep and Wrex. That medi-gel thing should’ve been the first red flag for those characters

You know, I didn't think much of him at the start, but I grew to like him by the end of the game. I also don't get the hate to be honest, I don't think he's boring and I think he fits in quite well with the rest of the crew.
