Hey guys! 👋 Welcome to Tea for Two. We're back with another financier recipe this week except we're swapping out the traditional almond flour with hazelnut flour and decorating with some dark chocolate ganache whipped cream. The combination of hazelnut and chocolate is always a win with everyone. One thing I'd recommend is decorating just before serving otherwise, these would need to be chilled...
A Mince Pie-inspired Tart (without mincemeat) | Christmas Baking | Tea for Two
Просмотров 3672 года назад
Hey guys! 👋 Welcome to Tea for Two. This "mince pie" is essentially an apple, pear and cranberry pie that's flavoured with Christmas spices and then topped with a crunchy crumble. Would you still call this a mince pie? I must admit that I'm not a huge fan of traditional mince pies. It's very likely because of the mincemeat - too much dried fruit, and the sauce is too strong and tangy for my lik...

Can I skip the breadcrumbs?
Breadcrumbs are commonly used here in Sweden to grease the pans but I think flour would work fine too.
@@teafortwothank you ❤
Thank u❤️
How many days it will be good mam??
Stored in an air tight container, 1-2 days :)
Thank you for creating a small batch. I just need to get a few dates and I will try this next!
Hear me out... French shortbread ice cream
That sounds absolutely amazing! I need to try that. But what flavour ice-cream?
Thanks for the detailed recipe !!! I'll try making them soon
Looks soooooo good😍
HI, I only have a 9 x 9inch pan. Would I need different quantities in the ingredients.?
You bake it in what degrees?
180 degrees Celsius (fan) 🙂
I met you at walmart today and you are as beautiful as you are talented!!!! the pastries you create are fabulous!!!!
I’ve never tried these before! They look so fun and delicious.
Wow, what a perfect holiday treat!!
Your financier dough should normally rest for 1 hour in the fridge
I like so much this recipe
Thank you. It makes me happy to hear you enjoy it 😄
:)
Hey guys! I've included a link to the savarin mould I used in this video in the description box but I also wanted to point out that while it looks like a donut pan, a donut pan sadly will not work. I tried it when I first made tiger financiers and the donut pan didn't allow the batter to bake over the centre piece (it's too tall), so I was left with financiers in ring donut form. No loss though, I just drizzled the ganache like icing over the donut-financiers - still tasty!
Quality of these videos keep getting better and better! keep up the good work!
Thank you! I will keep working hard to improve!
Crumble topping is the best! Wish I could just eat that… rhubarb is such a great seasonal baking addition. Thanks for sharing.
I also wish I could just eat crumble topping...
I can’t believe I didn’t have these when I was in Sweden! I guess it’s time for another visit…
I’ve never made or had these before! They look so flaky and delicious. Can’t wait to try.
well god dang doesn't this look actually fantastic? Will reccomend to my friends <3
Yum! Love this combo.
Me too!!
Mmm! Love the addition of ground ginger and spice. Such a nice flavour!
I love Carrot Cake. It's my favorite. I love your format too. "Just the facts Ma'am". Thanx. :)
Thank you! Really appreciate the positive feedback. 😄
Thank you! I've been wanting to make carrot cake for so long and now I have a perfect excuse. Your recipes always put a smile on my wife and I's face.
Thank you, Charlie and your wife for watching! I hope the carrot cake lives up to your expectations 😊
I can't believe we made it to 500 subscribers! Thank you all so much for watching and supporting our channel! We couldn't have made it without you all. 🙌P.S. Remember to sieve the sugar or those sugar lumps will haunt you forever!👻

Scottish Shortbread was my favourite butter biscuit for so long but it has finally been beaten by these French Shortbread. Let me know which shortbread you prefer in the comments below :D
Are palet breton and sable breton différent?
Hi. @Sady I actually spent a long time pondering the same question myself. It seems both these terms are used interchangeably and I was very confused but after a lot of research, this was the conclusion I came to but I am in no way saying this is the definitive answer. The short answer is, no, they are the same thing, just different names. First, the Breton/Brittany pastry dough that makes these cookies uses specific ingredients (egg yolks, salted butter) and process to create a very light, crumbly and most importantly a tall/thick cookie. This dough is often used as the base for Breton tarts and the smaller cookies made this way are specifically called palet Breton. (Palet means ‘puck’ in French, like a hockey puck) In other words palet Breton can be understood as “the puck shaped Breton pastry dough cookies” making specific reference to the shape of the cookie. On the other hand ‘sable’ in French, means ‘sandy/crumbly textured’ which is a very common description of many cookies so over time sable came to refer generally to all cookies of a sandy/crumbly texture (e.g. sandies). So a sable Breton can be simply understood as a general term for Breton pastry dough cookies. I believe (not 100% sure) that there are a thinner variety Breton cookies that aren’t baked in rings so the sable Breton name would include both palet and thin kinds perhaps. In the end, I would say they mean the same thing with palet Breton probably being a more traditional name, whereas sable Breton is a more general name. I guess the most important part is they both use the Breton pastry dough (which distinguishes them from other pastries and cookies) and their naming system probably isn't too important? Sorry for the super long answer. I hope it made some sense and it helped. 😅 If anyone else knows better, please let me know.
Hey guys! Just spotted a mistake in the video - 50g caster sugar was missing from the on-screen ingredients list. The correct and complete list of ingredients is in the description box. Apologies for any confusion.
Yummy lookin' Sub apples if you don't care for rhubarb. Add 120 grams of ground pecans to Scottish Shortbread for Pecan Sandies. :)
Apples are definitely the classic for a crumble cake. Add a pinch of cinnamon too! The rhubarbs were so fresh and beautiful in the store I just had to make something with them. 😄
@@teafortwo Yeah! :)
These look fantastic. Good job
Thanks so much! 😊
Thank you!
The recipe was perfect, thank you
Thank you! Glad you liked it! :D
Hi, does this recipe make 8 or 12 financiers? As you showed filling 8.. Thanks! :)
Hey! :) This small batch recipe makes 8.
@@teafortwo Cheers!
Bake for 35-40 minutes. At what temperature? Kind of an important information to not provide.
Hi. Bake at 160C. I usually mention the temperature to preheat the oven to near the start of the video (0:10) but I'll make sure to mention it again when I state the baking time in future videos :)
@@teafortwo Thank you for the prompt response. And for the video!
Ooo the best of both worlds!
Lovely recipe, thank you so much! Can't wait to make this :)
Thank you! Hope you like it! :)
The perfect vehicle for alllllll the clotted cream 😍.
if only I could easily buy clotted cream here. Making it from scratch is too much effort
Yum!! What a perfect flavour combination. Can’t wait to make use of the madeleine pan I got for Christmas.
I’ve never been a fan of dried fruit so this seems like the perfect recipe for me!!
Basically the perfect combo!! Love this substitution.
Looks awesome, and so easy. Thank you. I like both kinds also. 🥰🌈💖
Thanks so much 😊
Several channels I've seen make this into such a complicated project. Thanks for simplifying for me. :) p.s. I like your 2 minute format. No fluff. Also it seems to be 1 part Sugar, 2 parts Butter and 3 parts Flour. Couldn't be simpler. :) :) :)
Thank you. Glad it was helpful! I'm still trying to learn and figure out how best to edit these videos and share these recipes so your feedback really helps :)

I've never tried it myself but I don't see why not. Lemon and white chocolate can pair well together. If you do try it, let me know how it turns out! :)
Hey ho! So what about you guys? Do you like traditional mince pies? [EDIT] We had some minor issues with the first upload of this video so here it is again. It might take a few hours for RUclips to finishing processing the HD version. Thank for your patience. X
