I guess that could be an issue during these extreme storms we get more frequently nowadays, but I've never experienced any of that, but if there are any ex Keepers out there that have a comment on this, then please feel free to tell us.

What can I say, my memory of the noises were that it just became background, we could even sleep throgh the fog horn. The only thing that I can liken it too would be traffic noise in a City etc, that becomes background too, or even driving your car, but yes in different areas on a Lighthouse, it was noisey.

Yes the Germans invaded the Channel Islands. There are lots of things in War that seem to have no reason, not sure that the wood was for elsewhere.

@@PeterHalilI hope you can go there! especially since the island is home to the "lighthouses and beacons" museum with the first Fresnel lens on display and many other things to discover. Unfortunately, the site is completely under renovation until 2027. At that date the lighthouse that houses the museum will be open to the public for the first time in many, many years!

We were allowed to have a bath, but we were always careful with how much water we were using and had left. Cheers.

There were several lighthouses with ghost stories, but most Keepers wouldn't repeat them on video. Cheers and take care.

@@PeterHalil Ok thanks Pete. It's a shame to see that this lighthouse was demolished. I don't agree with the NT, especially given how old and long in service this lighthouse has remained! What a shame!

@@ollyk22 I couldn't see why the lighthouse moving back option wasn't pursued more, but the National Trust have never been my flavour of the Month, but that may just be my biased opinion.

You would think so but in reality it was the opposite. You were locked inside with 2 other men, not of your choice, and had to get on with them for 28 days at a time.
