I bought this course years ago and have long since lost the CDs. Great to listen again on RUclips.

The lady is perfect but the students are bad. I don't know on what basis are they hiring these people, but they sound like people who are kept against their will and not like people who are genuinely interested in learning the language. That's the only setback for me.

Russian language has taken nothing from English .For instance you mentioned the Greek words POLITICS THEATER etc.It is The Greek -Byzantine influence which gave to Russia the Greek -orthodox religion and the Aphabet which in Greek is ΑΛΦΑΒΗΤΟ

Anyone knows from where she is? I noticed a few words that are not quite used in Russia (west) as she is using them.

Really good lesson! I appreciate the fact that we can hear other people learning, we can learn from mistakes so as not to make them. That is fantastic! (27:44 is where I have to continue later. side note for me)

Is there part 2. I enjoyed this lesson.

This is my favorite video about learning russian. it makes me feel like i could really learn it. are there any more? The teaching and repetition of the two students is so helpful and the way she teaches you to ask things right away and the way she builds onto the language in natural conversational but useful way helps me remember a lot more than any other way i've tried to learn languages! I keep coming back to this after learning more and more and it is still superior in every way! So are there any more?

I found the Russian quite easy to learn to speak however I am semi fluent in speaking it but I can't understand the writing whatsoever and I think that's truly where the people get the idea that Russian is so alien to other language it looks like f****** hieroglyphics. I've learned Spanish French Russian German and English is my native language but I'll be damned if I just can't grasp Cyrillic
