A Guide to installing macOS on unsupported computers.
macOS Sequoia on UNSUPPORTED MACS! WITHOUT USB (2008-2017)
Installing macOS Sequoia on Unsupported Macs! Please keep in mind that this Patcher is still quite new, and therefore a few bugs are normal. Currently, non-metal Macs (2008-2011) cannot run the new Photos app. Although, this will most likely be fixed in a later patch so keep on the lookout for that!
Please feel free to leave any question you may have in the Comments and I will be more than happy to help you! Thanks for Watching!
Terminal Command: sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sequoia.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/MyVolume

macOS Ventura on a 2012 Macbook Pro with an Intel Core i5 3rd Gen, 8GB RAM and a 512GB SSD! (SSD HIGHLY RECOMMENDED). Make sure to do a backup of all your data before upgrading to Ventura as many problems may occur and its just safer to back up your Hard Drive so you can revert back with ease. 2:42 im stuck at terminal
For some reason I can't figure out the pasting into the terminal. I paste the line then do I hit enter afterwards or y? Also it won't let me put in my password it shows a little key in a grey box. Am I missing a step? Please help!!!
just type it in & press return, it won’t show you typing it
Do you have the code for the sequoia download?
But Like When I Download It, After Some Minutes It Saids Like Download Fail
command does not work, help?
I have used this video almost ten times, thank you so much!
Babu ❤❤❤ thank you
Can someone please help me, everything went smoothly but I cannot install apps store or third party it just gets stuck on the installer. Even when I go to privacy and click open anyway , it will not allow me to install any apps.
1:43 what are you clicking on to get the pie chart??
I've tried everything. It keeps saying "An error occurred while preparing a software update". Macbook Air 4.2. Please help🙏🏻
Is it okay to install it on Macintosh SSD?
Hey ive finished the download and everything but when i try to use open core legacy patcher it turner into a document and i cant connect to wifi so i cant open it?
I couldn’t do the post patch root thing it just took me to a new MacOs!!
How to make it work??
Bro WiFi not working??
You have to do the post install patches
where do you get the sonoma app?!
Thank you so much! it works but it’s slow! Still, it’s great for my computer because I can download new apps
Why you can’t copy the opencore to the mancos installer
Do we delete the installer partition after? And I'd assume we keep the EFI partition
apple logo only no
I had installed from that method but now my wifi doesn’t show any network, touchbar stop working, brightness doesn’t get increase or decrease and so many more problems and i don’t understand what to do please help me
Look at the end of the video
@@bishoyebnrbna Yeah.
Same issue here, WiFi stopped working after updating it
Any help? Thanks in advance
Have you Noticed that macOS Sequoia is Slower than Older MacOS on Unsupported Macs!
Yes, as they are unsupported. However this will help you keep up-to-date with security patches etc
Thank you, it worked 100% on my MacBook Pro 2016 15"! 🎉. The only issue I noticed was that the ESC button wasn’t showing after installation (maybe the Touch Bar isn't 100% stable with this patch, but I solved it by installing Pock). I have a question: in this tutorial, you spoofed the serial number to avoid serial number validation during the installation. Now that I’ve finished installing, how can I revert the serial number back to the original one? FYI: i'm able to use icloud but my device name & serial number is different from original, on the device name when i revert back to original S/N will the icloud stopped working? thank you
Yes you should be able to revert serial numbers.
is it laggy after u instal sonoma
After sequoia is installed and working, can I delete the partition MyVolume
I have an 11,3 iMac running High Sierra. It does not have a Metal supported graphics card, can I still install Ventura or do I need to upgrade the graphics card first?
Thank you for posting this method. I have a MacBook Air 7,1 and I tried 6 or 7 times to install Sequoia on it using a USB drive. Every time the install would fail, it would always reboot and go back to the first screen with four choices, restore from TimeMachine, Install Sequoia, Safari, and Disk Utilities. I created several different installers, and some times did a clean install and sometimes I didn't, and every time the install failed. When I tried your method, it worked perfectly the first time. The only other variable was that Open Core 2.0.2 was published and I used it instead of 2.0.1.
Yes always use the most up-to-date version of OpenCore!
I did everything but on the final reboot ive been stuck on the loadimg screen
What Mac do you have
@@XealousTech i actually got it to work thank you
I completed the installation with no errors but for some reason the Touch ID option is missing in the settings. I tried all versions of OS available on OCLP but it's not showing up. The Touch ID was working fine before I tried to patch it. Anyone who know's how to fix it please let me know. I've been trying to fix it for over a week now but I can't. My Mac specs: MacBook Pro 2016 13' 8GB RAM 256GB SSD Touch Bar Version. Thanks in advance :)
I don’t think the OpenCore team were able to re-enable Touch ID in this patch, you might have to wait a while for them to reconfigure it for sequoia
@@XealousTech Yes I fixed it myself, All I had to do was download last supported OS for my laptop and install it without any patches. It's all sorted for me now. :). Anyways thanks for your help.
i dragged opencore into the installer, finished the update fine but opencore has disappeared anyway to get it back without resetting?
Try again
at 3:40, do i do my corresponding macbook number (MacBookPro8,1) ? or i do the one you show? (MacBookPro16,2)
Do the one I show as it is reconfiguring your Mac’s serial number to a newer model that can natively run sequoia
do I use MacBookpro16,2 if I'm using a late 2013 Mac computer??? or do I use my model of computer.
Yes you should as that is the model of mac that natively supports Sequoia.
Nice, thank you for sharing!!! Will the exact process be the same IF I want to install to a separate SSD in the Mac Pro 5,1? If yes, will I need to create the EFI partition on that separate SSD too? I'm currently using latest Sonoma build version with OCLP 2.0.1. Please advise me, thanks in advance.
Yeah I tested it on a separate ssd and the process was very similar
Wi-Fi not working not working after the install idk why
@@Kaido_thegreat Make sure you have fully applied the post root patches as shown on the guide
same I did every steps exactly like you bet same problem
I have a MacBook Pro 2017 13 inch 2thunderbold and 16gb of ram
@@XealousTech I can’t find opencore idk what happen
@@Kaido_thegreatDid you drag and drop into the installer?
It says command not found
Why cant I type in the pass
You’re the best person in the world this actually worked thank you so much 😊❤
Brooooooo
bro?
@@XealousTech😂
earned a sub!
Yo did you reinstall sequoia installer couple of times as well?
@@models344 no..? just once lol
@@ba4gz bro it’s working I’m the happiest on my Mac Pro 2012 before I can’t even open browser
But now is black screen after entering password….
@@models344 hmmm idk didn’t happen to me
THANK YOU SO MUCH JUST SAVED MY LIFE 🎉🎉
Thanks! I installed in the same MacBookPro 12,1 and it honestly runs pretty good! Generating a fake Serial Number was really necessary? As I now have 2 Macs in my account (the old serial # and the new one)
you can go back in and change the serial number back 👍
@@ba4gz Yeah, it’s only to remove the chance of it failing in the install due to the serial checks
@@ba4gz You mean by reinstalling Sequoia with the original serial? As I tried changing this in OCPL, patch & restart but it didn't change it. If I need to reinstall I guess I'll leave it as it is as this is working so well and it's not worth to roll the dice again :D
@@eddytamburi2672 nah all i did was go back into the settings, change it back to og and re-build opencore then reboot when prompted.
Can I install on my phone title volume instead of on Monterey?
500 subscribers!!!!!!!! Thank you all so much for the support!
Hi, fab tutorial! When I get to the part at 05:20 part it starts installing but then about a quarter way through it stops and I get a permission denied error message. Any idea what would cause this?
Make sure you are installing it to your main drive and not the base system, you can check this in disk utility.
How can I install sequoia
What is the command for the terminal
Big sur was locked so i had to download big sur on mactonish hd will this still work ?
Yes
Hi im atuck with adding partition it always says failed. Please help
Why is pkg.dmg corrupted? Last time i installed macOS Monterey, it went normally fine. I have been stuck for the whole time.
Can anyone help? Ive followed the video, downloading the opencore legacy patcher, however after downloading the file doesnt load. Would really appreciate some advice and help
Does it erase our files ?? Media, pdf, ableton , application etc or not ?
No it doesn’t just do exactly as it says and it’ll work. I did it 2 days ago and it works perfectly
