During the first week of operation, strong wiinds and gusts from the east made it difficult to hold the antenna securely in place, even when it was aimed with the wind and secured with four tie down lines as shown in this video. Fortunately, the anti-cyclone moved on and the last few days of operation were only breezy.

A Falling Derrick is used to get the mast raising started, and after that, the halyard has enough leverage to simply raise the mast with the antenna installed on the top of it. The raising at 3B9 was a bit tricky because of the high winds, and the fact that the antenna needed to be raised in an elevated angle in order to clear local obstructions. As you can see, we had more than enough helpers!

The first step in raising the antenna is to place it on the mast. The site at 3B9 was somewhat challenging because of the slope, rock wall and thick thorns just on the other side of the rock wall. However, as you can see, I had more than enough helpers!

On the last Saturday of every November, there is a craft fair, lunch feed, and a black powder "Turkey Shoot" at the Ninemile Community Center outside of Huson, Montana. We always make it a point to go there and try to win a frozen turkey by getting the best shot of the round with black powder rifles.

The lemurs would migrate through the trees along the beach every evening. They were very talkative among themselves, perhaps to encourage their friends to follow on the same branch pathways they had used...or perhaps to advise them to find an easier route!

We stayed at Raïma Fadul's AirBNB in Mbounatsa, Mayotte in September, 2022 to operate amateur radio moonbounce on 50 Mhz as TO7GJ from that rare island and give "hams" around the world a chance to contact that rare location. We also enjoyed seeing the lemurs and swimming with turtles!
