Tight-Knit Community Chat - January 2025
January’s Tight-Knit Community Chat was fun and informative. There were lots of “ooohs” and “awwws” over Patricia’s stitches in her wool mat; Julie Porter’s demonstration of her appliqué method excited us all to give it a try, and Robin Koehler enlightened us with her expertise on antique quilts.

Unfortunately we do not have ability to see presenter as large screen , in replay on RUclips.
Will there be a webinar every month? I haven't got a notice for January.
What kind of thread is she using?
Hi Suzann! I will find out and let you know. Hang tight!
Hi Susan, I always use Valdani Threads for all my projects please let me know if you have any more questions.
Great interview!! I have been taking zoom classes with Julie. When I first started I really didn’t like appliqué or paper piecing but now I love it! She is great at breaking things down and demonstrating techniques that have helped me “get it”.
Thank you for letting us know, Carolyn!
The cardinal design is stunning!
I think so too!
Thank you for the mini magazines. I really like your backgrounds on the pages, they are attractive and give it a home comfy feeling. I really am enjoying these little tutorials and learning something new and refreshing my skills also. Happy New Year.
Thank you so much!
Thank you, I will definitely try this ❤
Wonderful--send us pictures when you're done!
Great video
I love these mini magazines! Thank you
Thank you Ann!
I have not been able to access the mini or any new information. I subscribed in November. I hate to cancel, but if I can't access it, it is no good to me.
Hey Jeanne, I can help. I'll email you. I have your email address from past communications.
Thank you, enjoyed this interview very much and meeting Aunt Susie was sure fun!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I can not download the mini. Also I'm a bit confused! Are these mini's replacing the regular magazine? I prefer just getting a paper magazine but understand it's cheaper to send it as a PDF but I don't like all of the rest. Another crafting website has started sending me daily "messages". I have been deleteing them without opening them but I'm tired of dealing with them so now I'm going to unsubscribe. Your magazine seems to be heading in that direction. When it becomes more of a burden than a joy I'll stop my subscription.
Hi @granmaB1948. I understand your frustration with the digital world. Quilters and stitchers are tactile people and we do love flipping through magazines. Unfortunately, it is difficult for a printed magazine to stay in business due the costs of paper, ink, and postage. So this is how we will stay afloat, publishing lovely patterns. So yes, this monthly mini does replace the printed quarterly magazine. If you look closely at the cover image, there is an arrow on the right, near the shovel and fireplace of the top right project. Click on that, and you'll see in the bottom left corner, a small image of the magazine, labeled "Contents". Click on that, and you'll see the words, "Download Issue". When you click on that, it will download. It seems like a weird way to go about it, but that's how emagazines does it. Let me know if you need more help--you can reach out to us with the "Contact Us" page on our website: www.primitivequiltsandprojects.com/contact-us/ Thank you SO MUCH for your time! Judy
i cannot download the mini. it is just an image. not a clickable link

So glad I found these videos, I love each one and Ty!
So cutest
How to launder please?
Jeni says: Wool should be fine! Can throw these in the dryer also. It can be steamed with iron if it needs flattened after. I wash and dry my wool on cotton items all the time!
I love the monthly mini, however I'm having trouble downloading the patterns. HELP! I have downloaded all previous issues with no problem. I'm a member.
Hi Sherry, did you ever get help downloading the patterns? If not, contact us with www.primitivequiltsandprojects.com/contact-us/
I must be the dummy. I see the videos, but not the patterns.
Hy Lynn! Do you still help with this? If not, reach out to us with: www.primitivequiltsandprojects.com/contact-us/
I can find the videos but I have not received an email to access the patterns?
in the email that you got, click on the pic below the video link. it will lead you to the pdf to view the issue, and all the patterns. the option to download it is on the last lage as you flip through.
I have not received the email for the PQP mini download
What happens to the wool when you wash the placemats?

Hello, I am very pleased with the November monthly mini. I love all four projects. I was able to easily download the PDF onto my computer to print out the patterns. It has beautiful pictures of the projects and easy to follow instructions. I look forward to watching the videos on each of the patterns. Thank You. Looking forward to future month releases.
Thank you!
I wish we could see pictures of the projects in this magazine. I might be more inclined to join the Stitch Club if I could get a preview.
Sorry I missed the pictures but found them now
@@jeanmanna9471 Thanks for finding them. I hope you make at least one.
This is a fantastic idea. It offers better value and increased engagement. I'm looking forward to seeing what comes next.
Thank you, we are really excited!
How do you subscribe
My question also. I did send them an inquiry. I, too paid for the printed magazine. They took that away from us and I was given an additional issue as compensation. So now where does my money they have already taken go? It SHOULD be credited to this new format. I have always loved this magazine but I am feeling like they are playing smoke and mirrors with us. I truly hope that is not the case.
People, people, stop freaking out. This is what it says on the website: « Your subscription will continue and be transferred over to the monthly membership, and for being a loyal subscriber, you will get a BONUS month added on. For each digital magazine you had remaining in your subscription, you will get 3 months of membership. ». So if you had a year left, that is four issues. Four issues x 3 months = 12 issues (one year). Plus you get an extra month.
She should have stated that in her very vague video!! Thank you for the information though😊
I would like to know what happens to my current subscription that lasts until 2026? You won’t be charging my credit card again until the current subscription expires? The video didn’t address this.
@@BeeQuilter same issue here. I purchased a digital issue even though I already had a paper copy subscription. They didn’t even refund my balance. Now they still owe me 2 digital issues?? This is so confusing and I can’t access my account because they’ve changed over so I hope my cc is not on file.
I contacted customer service regarding this issue. They emailed me a reply stating that my subscription would continue through the Fall of 2025. It appears they will honor our paid subscriptions for their monthly format. It’s a shame they didn’t clarify this in their video.
I hope my cc is not on file. I don’t approve you taking my money without my consent and I will be contacting my cc company that it’s an unauthorized charge if you do. Since you changed the company name, I can’t even go to my account to delete my cc. Will we be getting a refund for the magazines we will no longer receive? Another scheme to get more money. I had to pay for a digital subscription while my regular subscription was still active, now you want more money for another subscription while many still have active subscriptions. Your video is so vague too. Also, the website page is set up so we can’t even see our current account subscription since you changed the name.
Why is the subscription amount not given up front? I don't think I've given you my CC for any other use other than the subscription. This sounds good but need to know the cost.
@@winifredhalsey9150 you are asking the wrong person. Your question needs to go in comments not in my reply though I’m sure they will ignore these comments
@@betsylewis9432 You can delete your post if you like.
What is the monthly subscription rate???
Jenny I have submitted a question to you on the website, I subscribe to your magazine and promote on my you tube channel, love the patterns
Love her positive outlook, thanks for the inspiration!
Hi Ladies! I really appreciated this video where Jill Shaulis demonstrated her method of EPP. I've never liked the way my stitches show from the front and am anxious now to use Jill's stitching method. I'm also happy that there is no glue involved. It can get a little messy! 🤣 Thanks so much! Cindy from Pauls Valley, OK
thx
Hi Jeni, Thank you for sharing you sewing room and office space. I feel like we're friends already and it was so nice to see you talking and moving about. So nice to meet Judy too. I started with your first magazine issue and I have everyone of them. I'm proud to say I have had two projects in your beautiful magazine. My first submission was on the cover!!! Before I even saw the magazine, my friends were telling me congratulations. Wow, what a thrill it was and it still is. I also had two of my quilts in your Special Exhibit at Houston. I feel so special to have been part of your lives as well as you being part of mine. Forever grateful to you amazing women. Thank again, Susy
I've emailed 3 times & called twice because I can't download this magazine. I created an account & even renewed my subscription against my better judgement. I'm not getting a link to download in spite of promises. Never thought this company would ignore their customers like this.
Hi, this is Judy. Will you email me? judy@primitivequiltsandprojects.com

Hi, I can help you access the digital magazines. Want to email me? judy@primitivequiltsandprojects.com
I have access now enjoying the content thank you.
I found this not very helpful, where to access the e-magazine program to view the magazines. And I didn't even know a new magazine was even out yet. Is there any other way to view the magazines online. Need some help.
Hi, I can help you. Want to email me? judy@primitivequiltsandprojects.com
I am not able to use your tips, because I haven't received my subscription that I paid for. I've emailed numerous times and no one is even responding .
Hi Lori! I can help. Will you email me? Judy Williamson, judy@primitivequiltsandprojects.com
I would have appreciated a warning that you were thinking about going digital before I extended my subscription by 2 years. I do not like this format and would not have resubscribed. Thank you for your video instructions.
Hi Janice, I understand, and wish things could have gone differently. If you would like a coupon code for $25 of patterns and back issues, let me know. Judy
Very informative. Thank you for this walk through.
Glad it was helpful!
I was really interested to see your space because my sewing room is above the garage too. Your space looks bigger than mine though mine is divided into two rooms so maybe that is why yours looks bigger.
