How many times have people called ur sd fake bc of ur gear??
Nice trip… do you remember how much the temperature was in London and Scotland?!
Question. Because we are in the same scenario. I just had my RIGHT ankle surgery about 10 days now. And will for sure get LEFT ankle surgery too as I tore a lot of ligaments and tendons on the other side too. So my question is. How many days or months apart did you do your ankle surgery like how many months do I need to wait and endure to get the other ankle surgery done after the first one. Thanks!!
@@DG-kq2el Hi! I ended up doing my surgeries a year and half a part just with other factors in my life! But I believe traditional wisdom is at least 6 months between! I bet your doctor will have a suggestion too! It's a tough journey but I am so happy to have my ankles back! Wishing the same for you!
Wow we have the same issue 2 ankles needed surgery and I had my right one first and its on 10 days now post op 😂
Did you do an joint mobilization before surgery?( Pt with a resistance band on the ankle)
@@Vuden13 Yes, I did years of PT before surgery

Omg this is literally what I am currently going through, I’ve been through every non surgical treatment and have been having pain still and still been denied MRI and now I have a follow up later this month with my podiatrist but I’m hoping to be a candidate for the same surgery
I don’t care for Harry Potter stuff but why not support Rowling?
@@ladybugmom10 Hi! JK Rowling through her words, actions, and money has sought to hurt and demonize transgender folks. If you are curious to learn more a Google search will provide more detailed info. I will always support trans folks! Have a good one!
@@kristen_clark_ I enjoyed your video looks like you had an awesome trip! I will always support God and know He does not make mistakes.
I'm awaiting my surgery it's took 21 yrs multiple injuries and a broken ankle to finally be taken seriously 😢😢😢
Very helpful video. I have ankle surgery in a few weeks. How’s everything now?
I had fentanyl after my ankle fixation and was fine with it. When I first presented to the ED with my broken ankle, they eventually gave me Oxycodone. That made my mouth so dry, I got the sweats and then I vomited. So now I list that as an allergy.
@@joolzmac1 Honestly yeah, at this point I really should list opioids as an allergy or at least know I will puke without anti-nausea medication
I stopped listening at "Didn't want to support JK Rowling too much."🙄
@@roguenify I will always support trans right. I will not support those who don't. Full stop.
@@kristen_clark_ What does "trans rights" even mean? No laws forbid trans people from voting, employment, housing, or marriage. What they are asking for is special treatment. I will always support female/women's rights, full stop. That means no males in women's sports or women's prisons. J.K. Rowling supports women's rights and doesn't kowtow to Twitter peer pressure. We should be lucky to have her as a feminist.
@@kristen_clark_ Most mature adults agree with Rowling. They believe trans people should be treated with dignity and respect, and should not face discrimination in employment and housing. However, they acknowledge that biological sex is real; and mixing males and females in vulnerable spaces, like prisons and domestic violence shelters, is dangerous for females. Rowling is a hero. 💪
I also got diagnosed with Fibromyalgia at 24 years old, then 2 years later a specialist in UW madison- dr.rudin realised i have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. I had misdiagnosed many times and finally realised i have hypermobile EDS. Turns out alot of women i knew also had EDS and didnt realise it because doctors thought it was fibro. Im getting my first service dog this year and im so excited.
Oh my gosh Dr. Rudin was my breakthrough doctor as well!! It's a small world!!

Thank you so much!!
I did tore a ligament in my right ankle and I had no surgery on it. When I did it and it was on October 19,2017. It was on my sister’s birthday. I did broke my left ankle in a bad car accident in early March 2012. I did have surgery on my left ankle. I did do PT on my left ankle started on May 11,2012 and ends on August 29,2012. In the month July and August was once a week. In the beginning of PT it was 3 that I think it was. In June twice a week. I had so many X-rays on my left ankle. I only had one set of 3 X-rays on the right ankle. I remembered after surgery for my left ankle that I was groggy. I did saw both of my parents after my ankle surgery. I just had a pudding cup after my surgery and my nap after surgery on my right ankle. I did took pain killers for my right ankle. I was stuck in one room of both of my parents home for the first 2 weeks after surgery to get the splint cast off. 4 weeks of wearing the fiberglass cast. I was out of the bedroom during Easter to see my grandmother. She was used to of me driving her towards my parents house. It was the only time that I didn’t drive her. I didn’t have a car till June 21,2012. I couldn’t help her to walk towards her room at the nursing home. I still have scars on my left ankle. None on my right ankle. Having a broken ankle is the worse pain when the ER doctor touch it. Even the doctor for the surgery straightened the ankle before the surgery and again the worst pain. I didn’t scream for it. I was in the hospital for almost 2 days. The longest was after my appendix was removed in early July 2016. That one that I wasn’t feeling to good before surgery. I was back to my old self after the surgery but, I was a little weak. I was joking around with the nurses after my appendix was removed. I had a couple of growls in my stomach on Friday afternoon. I was on a strict diet after surgery. My big mistake is having a big breakfast on Sunday morning. I did ate everything and I had a little bit of an upset stomach. I ate the lighter meals till Wednesday. I felt better and having this one machine that sucked up the moisture from my incision for a week. I did changed the batteries a couple times. I was glad that was taken off. Even have some staples removed on one day and the rest the following week, too. I had a little bit more staples on that surgery compared towards my left ankle.
My ankle keeps giving away as well and they won’t do nothing and the little bone on my ankle keep breaking and the tendon is very thin out
Thank you for your video! Wondering if you got any post surgery headaches?
@@leticiadoyle No, no headaches post-op!
Were you put to sleep for the surgery or did they keep you awake
This a major surgery so I was under anesthesia!
@kristen_clark_ are you allowed to stay awake even if you don't want general anesthesia
@@thomasmihalache2373 I would assume not, but I am not a surgeon or anesthesiologist, you would have to discuss with your medical provider
@@thomasmihalache2373 Technically you can be awake with a nerve block but as anesthesiologist and surgeons prefer asleep pts that don’t remember anything
Was your layover very long? Do you have laundry?
@@siempretratoI pack enough to not do laundry. Some people bring travel packs of laundry detergent to do it in the sink. Others find laundromats nearby to do it. On the "essential" trips most hostels and hotels do not offer laundry, I have been on "plus" trips where the hotels offer it, but it is very expensive! I hope that helps! The layovers weren't too long, but it wasn't the most direct route or fastest flight plan. I will book my own flights on my future trips with EF!
@kristen_clark_ I've never traveled very seas before. Should I find a passport holder to wear around my neck, or will one for my purse be enough?
@@siempretrato All five EF trips I have done I keep my passport in a small zipped compartment of my backpack! I don't think it's necessary to keep it around your neck! I recommend picking one spot where it stays 24/7 and checking once a day that it's still there! I had never traveled overseas until my first EF trip, and now I have gone to so many places! I am so grateful!
@kristen_clark_ I've booked my trio. They said pack light should I only bring a carry on? Will I be allowed a backpack or Will they make me check something?

How much did you spend on the trip. It looks like you just paid to chill on the beach for two weeks…. What does $5000 for the trip cover? Is there a boat party or a boat day?
Hi! The trip cost includes hotels, transportation (bus, ferry, etc.), some meals, tour director, and many activities! Pretty much everything but some meals, free time activities, tips, and souvenirs. There are optional activities you can book through EF, and then for my trip my tour director had 4 more activities that we could pay to participate in. I believe I spent about $1,000 total including my tour directors activities, meals, additional free time activities, and souvenirs! Some people spent a lot more, and some people spent less, it depends on your shopping habits! And we had two organized boat days! One was more active and less party and the other was more of a party boat! I also know a group of people on their private day booked another boat day for themselves on a free day! Hope this helps! Let me know if you have more questions! It truly was such an incredible trip!

Hi! I just had my left ankle ligament surgery last week! How are you doing? How has your other ankle been? Ngl bit scared of the pain I was experiencing pre-op to still be there after this surgery, cause apparently my ligament wasn’t torn but it was really swollen and loose😅 How was it like having a cast vs a boot? I was in a walking boot right after surgery. I find it so uncomfortable and my foot doesn’t stay in the right position, it’s so frustrating 😂 (my heel keeps lifting from the sole and sliding too much back, and no redoing the straps doesn’t work and just pinches my nerves and causes my toes to go numb😂😅) I can’t wait for my appointment next Thursday to check my scar and finally take off the thick bandages of that are under my boot. Normally the protocol is to start weightbaring and learning to walk again in the boot after 2 weeks here. After 6 weeks you go to a brace for another 6 weeks. My surgeon wants me to be in the brace for 3 months tho. Didn’t tell me why so I’ll have to ask her next week)
Hi! Thanks for watching, I hope your recovery is going well! I definitely can relate to the anxiety of the surgery not fixing the pain and stability! Fortunately for me, both of my ankles are doing really well now and I am getting back into workout routines and hikes! Which is something I struggled to do pre-surgery! For me I think transitioning from non weight bearing post up wrap to the boot was better for me. Compared to when I did the cast the first time. I had less muscle atrophy and mobility issues by walking in the boot 2 weeks post op! Best of luck on your recovery journey! Let me know if you have any other questions!
How did it feel with the scarf wrapped around your face for warmth. Did it keep falling down and was it hard to breath with it over your face ?

Get well soon. So, was there any damage to the cartilage?
There may have been minor cartilage damage my surgeon cleaned up while in there, but nothing significant he mentioned!
Thanks for sharing. I am 3 weeks out and will have my plaster splint off in 2 days and go to the cast. You have given me a good look into my next few months.
That's exactly what I had hoped to do! I hope you are recovering well!
Hi, just wondering about the flights. Did you have EF ultimate book them for you and what airlines did they end up using? Also about how long was the total travel time? I’ve heard that they sometimes book the longest ones because they’re cheaper so I’m considering booking my own
Honestly the flights were okay but moving forward I will book my own to have shorter and more direct flight routes. None of my EF flights have been terrible but they are also never great, which is common for them. They use all the major airlines American, Delta, United, it just depends on what's cheapest for them when they book!
Curious how light you packed on this trip
Wow, what an exciting trip you took. I'm doing one similar with Trafalger at the end of June . What was the average temperature in all the places?
Honestly it was pretty comparable to US weather, just a bit cooler with more rain!
Thanks for sharing! would love to join a tour like yours…
I had the modified Brostrom procedure done on my left ankle last week. I have had chronic ankle instability since I was in middle school. My ankle gave out while trying to get my cat off the fence two weeks ago. That was the last straw for me. Fortunately, urgent Care took X rays saw I had fractured my ankle sometime ago and referred me to a podiatrist. The podiatrist was pretty adamant for me to get the surgery, I was kind of not ready but I eventually decided that it was for the best. I was scheduled for surgery the next week, we are moving in 6 weeks and I didn't have a lot of time to get it done and recover to move. Anyway my doctor was not w fan of hard casts and said it slowed down ankle healing mobility due to atrophy. After 5 days of non weight bearing I was placed in a walking boot. Of course this was decided based on how my ankle was healing and pain. I had hardly any pain and mobility was good enough to do full weight bearing in a boot. I just can't over do it , I still do RICE and I have started ankle exercises when I am out of my boot. Looking back I wish I had done this sooner. I am 42 , so you are smart for advocating for yourself the way you did with your bad ankles at your age! Thanks for sharing your recovery process!
Thank you so much for this comment and for sharing your story! Ankles sure are fickle things! I hope you are doing well now!
Ur so lucky because I also had many sprains and broke it before but my podiatrist told me to do more physical therapy and denied an mri for me and now I have a follow up appointment because I had another sprain recently and I’m pretty sure there’s no other option now except surgery.
im going on this trip in a couple weeks and im really excited! Who was your TD?
I had Mark as a TD! I loved him, but I haven't met an EF TD that I didn't love and did a fantastic job! I hope you have an amazing trip!

Cinnamon and cherry tea and apple cider vinegar capful in a glass of water every other day peppermint tea and epsom salts and ginger and lemon tea and music
Weather and stress lack of sleep and poison build up high pressure
my xray is clean, my dr says she can feel some weakness and instability in my ankle but i’m afraid if my MRI comes back clean they’ll just send me back to pt i’ve been doing for years 😪
Hi! Ligaments definitely don’t have to be torn to be able to get this surgery! I personally had loose ligaments (which doesn’t show on the mri) they were also very swollen (which did show in the mri) and I had bone marrow edema still after 6 months (bruised bone). But the indications for the surgery at my hospital is chronic ankle instability despite non-operative treatment. So you’d definitely qualify. My hospital doesn’t even look whether ligaments are torn or not. Idk if I believe my surgeon when she said this, but she said that you can’t tell whether an ankle ligament is torn on a mri or not. So advocate for yourself and ask for a second opinion if they don’t want you to have surgery!
@@BennieBen03 it actually turned out to be much worse on the mri unfortunately i had a piece of bone that broke off from an old injury that never healed. it was poking into my ankle joint “like a rock in your shoe” is what the doctor said. it damaged my tissue and ligaments all around my ankle and foot so i had surgery june 12th!
@@mariahgriffin2146 ah, atleast happy that they found the source of your pain! Hope you are healing well!
