Ford blue is great to be driven on...
Suggestion to RUclipsr: Say "height" not "heighth." "Heighth is not a word in the English language.
I bet you have a heyday with people who use a lot of slang.😂
Those plastic ramps from the parts store are even less
Add a pair of jackstands for the rear, and you're there. With less interference on the sides.
There ya go, I have those plastic ramps too. I always hated pulling my full size trucks up on them because they looked like they were going to give away at and second. They are less than half the height also. Having experienced both, I’ll take the alignment ramp all day long.
@@beesprojects2692 But, but, but, it may take me 10 years to find one of those on Craigslist, Fleabay or Amazon at that price. . . . and I need to change my clutch this week. . . (I did find a pair of steel ramps last week at a flea market. I'll use those instead of the Rhino's)
Thank you very much for this helpful video! A generally good idea all around.😁👍
Glad you enjoyed it!🙂
I bet grip tape would look nice on the top. If you aren’t familiar grip tape is the stuff people use on the top of skateboards. It’s super durable and should stay bonded to the ramps as long as the prep is done properly. I believe you can get it in a bunch of different colors as well.
Interesting idea. 😁
Well done!... now to see if I can find an old alignment machine... thats not working.
Good luck!🍀

I made a wall out of old bricks with some boards on the top and drove up onto it. Worked great but a bit wobbly when pulling on a spanner.
That works too.😁 sometimes you have to use what you have on hand.
Awesome
I procrastinated too long to get these: www.kwik-lift.com/ I definately do not have ceiling height in my garage.
@@kimnach too cool! I did not know those existed. I see you have just started recently posting videos. I subscribed, Good luck!
@@beesprojects2692 Thanks. I was going to buy those back in '17 before I pulled the engine on my IROC, but I built crib blocks instead. (BTW: I have been posting for a long time, but privately.)
Those old machines survive just fine outdoors like the old ramps commonly made from steel angle. That avoids tying up a shop bay (the reason you see those ramps outdoors).
40 years ago, a friend drove into my yard with a bunch of steel in the back of his truck. It was a hunter alignment machine just taken out of his uncle's tire shop. He told me that it was mine for $100. I almost sprained my wrist getting the money out. One problem is that I never set up the pneumatic pistons to lift it. Nice video. Good Luck, Rick
Very cool!😎 I’ve about sprained my wrist quite a few times! Gotta love when deals like that fall in your lap. Thanks!
@@beesprojects2692 I've been lucky to have some good friends. 40 years ago I bought a 1957 dump truck to fix up. Within a year, 4 parts trucks were given to me. I was looking for a lathe, a friend comes by with his big truck with a 24" x 96" lathe and a Ford diesel generator as gifts. I still haven't found the missing gear for the tool carriage but, one of these days. One of my up coming projects is restoring my 1985 C-10. Good Luck, Rick
Cool advice and nice sertup
This is cool!
Why are you showing us farm chores? I want to know how to wire the lights, where to get the power from besides the key switch or the battery
I have been working on making better videos, I hadn’t been making videos very long at this point. I now realize that some people care less about anything other than the subject matter and getting the information they are seeking. Which is why my newer videos are not so drawn out and tend to cut to the point sooner. Sorry you didn’t get what you came for.
Thanks, COOP ...
nice set-up
Very cool! I have a similar truck. I changed out the gas tank with it sitting directly on the ground. Adequate clearance without jacking it at all.
Nice work!!!! just make sure to put wheel chocks behind the front tires to prevent the vehicle from rolling.
I have wheel chocks sitting right next to it.👍
This is the coolest thing ever, what a dream!
Thanks
Thanx
Great idea! Now all I gotta do is find one at the right price! Lol
Just because he found one cheap doesn’t mean everyone can. Is this guy for real?

@@user-nh4hr8hq1i 🤔 does the one watching the video or making the video have too much time on their hands?
@@beesprojects2692 probably both
That is not practical. How many used torn down alignment racks are out there and for sale?! The old school method was dig, build a pit outside or get tall jack stands and jack that go to 32 inches, or a scissor lift.
5:20 he tells you where to find one
Dude, I see similar systems at auction regularly. Cheap. This is a perfectly functional, practical option for someone who doesn't have the money or ceiling height for a lift... and the cheapest mid-lifts are gonna run you $1500 or more, unless you risk your life buying it from TEMU.
If you look they're out there. They're a target of opportunity to avoid spending more money. Similar ramps were often built from steel angle framework and old (it's usually thicker) mobile home frames. If you go to remove one a cordless recip saw and "auto dismantling" blades work great and saves some prep on the cut ends vs using a cutting torch. The torch method is faster of course and every mechanic needs an oxy-acetylene outfit for the many things one can do. Ramps are common in areas with high water tables and can still be found sitting next to former gas stations.
No fucking way dude
Same thing with the old Chrysler 300s. I learned that and never needed a scan tool again
I would love to have that but good luck finding one
THATS WHY I LOVE THE OLD TRUCKS. NO GIZMOS. THEY RUN THRU EVERYTHING. STCK SHIFT
very useful
Older obd 1 Chrysler used to bling check engine light or power loss light same sequence
That actually rules! And with how capable modern “instrument clusters” are getting, there’s no reason they couldn’t all do something similar 😮
Check your thermostat, it could be stuck open
@@sulmynethegreat8217 yes, it is. 👍
Best thing dodge ever did... Doesn't fix the issue jus makes sure more don't pop up 😂
Used car lot drive-on display ramp/stands are also an option. The used car lot ramps a pretty tall, and can be found cheap, too.
What's cheap?
@@vittoriovuocolo2438 I have actually seen them for free if you'd disassemble it and get it off the property because the owner wanted it gone.. For Sale ads, I have seen them as low as $300 and up to $1,000.
Love the art deco look of the supports!
Awesome video. My brother brought me a 46" mtd mower with a ELS 656 22 HP briggs and I put new plugs and checked for spark and good. I then took fuel line off and cranked and it was spitting fuel so good fuel pump. I took the little brass plate with 3 screws holding it on off and sprayed throttle body cleaner in there and cranked and it starts but surges horrible and smokes. When I try starting it back it won't so it must be the carb. Mower sit a couple of years and worked fine when parked. This video helps show me what I need to check it's a little different than mine but I think carb is the same. Thanks for posting.
You’re welcome, good luck!👍🍀
I started working at a shop in 75. No lifts. Just an old alignment ramp. We finally got a lift about 10 years after i started working there. It worked great and was not replaced. Mostly we used jack stands and worked under cars. I finally got my own lift around 96 at another shop. But yea, these ramps are a great choice.
I learned how to do alignments with string levels on a machine just like that one back in the day.
Love the stance on your Chev! Done right. Good use of stuff and great idea! Thanks for sharing
Thanks 👍
That's a great idea. I was wondering if the vehicle gets to be too far away? Can you reach everything on the car?
Yes I can reach everything. I haven’t had any issues yet when working on my vehicles.
You could and I would look out for work stands so you have mobile steps. Facebook Marketplace has all kinds of useful items as do industrial auctions. I got one fifteen footer to make shop roof and home roof maintenance easier. Other things to collect are scaffolding which can be used for rolling shelves when not used to get access to van roofs, tall trucks etc. I'm nearly crippled so I use simple machines like home-fabbed jibs, snatch blocks, boat winches, ag jacks, a self-built air bag jack (big truck air bags work nicely), and much more to spare my back. I SHOULD have done much more of this long ago because it greatly expands what you can do but it's never too late to start.
Do these take a full size car or truck battery? Or a lawn mower battery? I just got this exact same tractor and mine didn't come with a battery
It’s a full size battery in mine. Have fun with it!😊
@@beesprojects2692 I love working on older tractors. But I'd never seen one like this. Thanks for the reply
I used to service those John Bean Visualiner alignment systems for the manufacturer (FMC). Those were a great system! Be really careful with a modern front wheel drive vehicle on those turntables. Things can go sideways quick! Great video! Thanks-
Very cool!😎

@@beesprojects2692 Does he mind ??? lolol joking !! Have a good day !!
Nice idea if you can find one. I use four ramps and a floor jack to accomplish the same thing. Plenty of room and height to get trans out. Beats the hell out of dodging between jack stands.
Nice, sounds like it works great. I also have car ramps. this is over twice the height as my car ramps and I paid slightly more than what 4 car ramps would cost for this. Thanks for the comment!🙂
Very good idea using an old alignment machine and adding lights . Thanks for the tip.
