Overnight Hike to Lake Rhona - Solo Hiking Tasmania
Join me as I hike up to Lake Rhona in Tasmania's Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park. The imposing peaks of the Denison Range tower over Lake Rhona's pink-tinged quartzite sands, making for a pretty spectacular campsite! The walk is pretty straightforward and easy; great for families or those just getting in to multiday hiking.

Abalone Diving in Tasmania || CATCH AND COOK
Просмотров 3,9 тыс.2 года назад
We've been on a journey this trip to forage and catch as much of our food as we can! This video is one of our favourite places in Tassie - the Tasman Peninsula. Whilst the spicy cough has knocked some of the crew down, we still manage to head out for a dive in the beautiful kelp and collect some Abalone for dinner. I just love that part of the world. Just beautiful, the girl is very beautiful too.
Why is the video flipped at the start?
Lake Oberon is one of those most magical places in the world
Love the video. I’m keen to do the trail. Are you hiding in the bushes because it’s a non designated camp? Thanks!
Hey Georgina, do you have an Instagram?
I do :) it's @gee_hayes
Good video keep it up I’m going to do this

I loved this <3
Wish I had done the Western Arthur's
Thanks for the video Georgina, I never thought to do that walk until I saw your video. We have camped at Red Rock and some of the places you walked through. Keep them coming with your latest hiking adventures.
Always take my sawyer mini filter
how come leeches would be there! so cold! Leeches are my night mares 😱
Beautiful
Thank you Steve
Very pretty scenery and you are very friendly
What's the weight of your pack fully loaded ?
I try to keep it under 15/16 kgs to start!
Very dependent on how many days / access to water though
@@georginahayes766 Do you sleep on inflatable mattress? or self-inflated?
Good clip. Good to see the old bloke out n about.
Thanks Stu, yep he's a legend!
Hi Georgina Great video can't believe how calm it is! I met you last Monday at 3rd headland and obviously you remembered my channel-thanks for subscribing! I've done a video of that dive comes out at 6pm Sat 3rd December if you're interested to see what is out there
Yesss i found your channel i was very excited...been having a good stalk haha. Looks like you've got some epic fish out here!
@@georginahayes766 I’m so glad you watched it! We dived there the other day and I Got a Jew and my mate Pete got a big cray. It’s perfect at the moment. I got 3 big crays today just south of the headland. So weird they are still here in mid summer. If you can get in 100 metres south of the headland you will have a good chance of bagging out. Thanks for the comment and good luck!!
Awesome walk, thanks Georgina. I have spent heaps of time camping at Station Creek and sometimes Wooli, but never done the walk through. Planned for next year, can't wait.
Good to see you walked around the yucky puddles on the track 😄👍✌️👍
😁
It'll only take one trip where you get sick before you get a water filter. They're pretty cheap and compact these days.
This looks amazing! I'm hoping to do this with a mate at the end of the year
Looks great. You're way braver than I. Big props from Newcastle, NSW
always good down there it's my second home 🍺
Awesome adventure. Glad all the crossings worked out for you & the weather was epic :)
Which tent is that - green tunnel one?
Hello from Kozani Greece
good on ya!!
Sick trip!!!
This is so cool Gee, love that you can forage and add what you find into your dinner. Looks freezing down there!
Haha it was bloody cold!
What a great adventure!
🥰🥰🥰
great to see you back in "The Taz."
Can't seem to keep away!!!
Wow that is amazing, thank you so much for sharing.
Is this what you packed on your Western Arthur’s hike?
Similar! This is what I packed for a 4 day hike in the snowy mountains. We needed much more food for the western Arthur's; we also took more gas, ropes and an EPRB :)
@@georginahayes766 Your video of the WA hike looked like you might have had good weather. But did you take emergency repair items like gaffer tape, cordage etc? BTW My daughter just completed the WA trail with three girlfriends a couple of days ago. One night the wind was so strong it broke her (new high quality) tent and one of her friends. It ended up four in a two person tent for two nights. How do you prepare for that!?
Gosh you are so beautiful!
Hehe thank you 😘
Such a great video! Very inspiring...We need more women doing channels like these downunder! Good on you..Looking forward to seeing your channel blow up! :D
This is such a beautiful message to get 😍 after reading it I had a good look around and you're right - there's NO Solo females making adventure vids!!!!
@@georginahayes766 Niche! :D Have fun!
Awesome video, and what an amazing trek to complete with your dad!
Awesome awesome video!! Loved this 🌞✨
Looks like an awesome trip! Would you mind me asking which maps you bought for the track?
Have you ever heard of Moe Skin it is similar to a bandaid but it's great on blisters.
